Sexual Abuse Of 4-Year-Old Girl
BY: NEWSON6.COM

SAPULPA, Oklahoma - Sapulpa Police say a 29-year-old Hominy woman and her 19-year-old Sapulpa boyfriend are in jail for allegedly sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl.

They were identified as Kristina Koehn and Chance Tyler Hood.

Sapulpa Police say they were notified after the Osage County Sheriff's Office got a tip concerning cell phone texts detailing the alleged sexual abuse.

Deputies turned over the cell phone containing the texts and their investigation to police after learning the abuse happened at a residence in Sapulpa. An affidavit states the couple took lewd photos of the child at the Creek County Speedway in Kellyville.

The child was also abused at a home in Hominy, court records show.

After interviewing both Hood and Koehn, police said the couple admitted to the alleged abuse.

Police say Chance Hood was arrested on complaints including first-degree rape, lewd molestation and child pornography. Kristina Koehn was arrested on complaints including child abuse and child pornography.

Tulsa Man Charged With 3 Counts Of
Child Sexual Abuse
BY: DEE DUREN, NEWSON6.COM

TULSA, Oklahoma - A convicted sex offender was booked into the Tulsa County Jail Wednesday morning on three counts of child sexual abuse and one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

Jason Murray Nixon Sr. was caught last month trying to enter Canada, and Tulsa County Sheriff's Office worked on getting him returned to Oklahoma.

Court documents state Nixon, 39, is charged with sexually abusing a woman's 15-year-old daughter. Nixon claimed he was asleep when the teen made sexual advances on him and he "woke up and forced her away from him," a deputy said in an affidavit.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show Nixon was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in December, 2015 and discharged from prison a year later. He got a 10-year sentence after being convicted of lewd proposals/acts to a child in Mayes County in 2009.

He has Arkansas convictions for first-degree burglary and robbery.

There is currently a protective order out against him filed by the teenager's mother, Tulsa County court records show. His bond is set at $330,000.

Repeat sex offender to serve 27 years in prison
for distributing child porn
By Dennis Romboy

SALT LAKE CITY — A previously convicted sex offender will spend more than 27 years behind bars for taking and sharing sexually explicit photos of children.

A U.S. District judge sentenced Donald Ray Fritcher, of Salt Lake City, to 330 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography. Judge Dale Kimball also placed him on probation for life after he is released from prison. There is no parole in the federal criminal justice system.

Fritcher, 36, admitted that between July 2015 and April 2016, through a file sharing program, he shared images and videos of child pornography, including prepubescent and minor children posing in various stages of undress and in sexually explicit poses.

Fritcher had more than 600 images and videos in his possession, including pictures he took of two children.

A registered sex offender in Utah, Fritcher has two previous convictions for attempted sex abuse of a child. The pictures of the two children were taken after his convictions in state court, according to the indictment.

3 Men arrested in Green Bay for 3 different
child sex assault cases

GREEN BAY, Wis. - It's something most parents think could never happen to their child: sexual assault. But on Thursday, three people were charged with first degree child sexual assault in Brown County for three separate incidents.

The scariest part? All of the alleged predators were people the children involved knew and trusted.

Sadly, that's very common for child sexual assault victims, according to experts.

"Sexual abuse is about opportunity, and if you have access to a child, then there’s obviously opportunity to abuse that child," said Susan Lockwood, Director of Willow Tree Cornerstone Child Advocacy Center. "Most children, that’s who they’re around."

These photos by DECANDIDO, MARISA, apparently portray
Colin Summers and Jorge Medina-Patino
One incident involved a young Green Bay boy abused three times by a close family friend over the span of a year, starting when the boy was around 6 years old, according to court documents. Colin Summers, 36, of Green Bay, who allegedly abused the boy, had known the family for several years and was invited to family birthday parties and other events.

"Almost always there’s a grooming period beforehand," said Lockwood. "That is because the offender is sometimes trying to test out the child to see if this is a child that won’t tell or will be more compliant."

                                                           **************************

That "grooming" was part of an alleged incident involving another man charged in Brown County court this week.

The man allegedly groped his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter multiple times, court documents said. Jorge Medina-Patino, 54, of Green Bay was someone who had known the victim's family for a long time, and even helped the girl get a part-time job cleaning offices with him, according to the criminal complaint.

The alleged predator first would massage the victim, but then the touching escalated, the complaint said. That's how many predators operate, according to Lockwood.

"Part of the grooming in the next steps are to accidentally touch the child, except it’s not really accidental," said Lockwood. "Based on the child’s reaction, the person might decide if they can go further or not."

It's also a test to see if the child will tell anyone, Lockwood explained.

                                                                 *************************

In the third case in Brown County court Thursday, a father allegedly abused his young daughter in his Green Bay apartment. The alleged abuse did not come to light until the girl told her mother. However, she told her mother her father told her to keep it a "secret," court documents said. NBC26 is not naming the man as to not identify the victim.

These three cases highlight why it's important for parents to have open communication with their children, Lockwood explained.

"Talk to your child about parts of their body that are private," said Lockwood.

Parents should also teach their children to share information with them, whether it's about sexual abuse or any other situation, like a stranger approaching them outside. That way when something does happen, a child knows they're supposed to tell someone.

"The offender is trying to get the silence of the child," Lockwood said.

Finally, parents should have awareness, Lockwood stressed.

"A lot of times people wear blinders, and so they just need to be aware that there are some people out in the world who are going to hurt children," she explained.

If you have any reason to believe your child is being abused, call your local police department.

Rockford man sentenced in Illinois for
sexual assault to a child

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man convicted of sexually assaulting a child learns his fate.

The Boone County State's Attorney's office says Arturo Indoval has been sentenced to 65 years in prison.

In March of 2017, a jury found Indoval guilty of four counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse involving a child under the age of 13.

Indoval was arrested in 2015 for assaults that were believed to have occurred in the previous six years. He faced a maximum of 66 years in prison.

Former Alabama sheriff's deputy to serve 20 years
for possession of child porn
By Erin Edgemon  al.com

Former Lee County Sheriff's deputy Kevin Wayne Taylor was sentenced to serve 20 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

Following his release from prison, Taylor, 40, of Phenix City will be subject to supervised release for the remainder of his life, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Taylor remains in the custody of the United States Marshals pending placement by the Bureau of Prisons.

Taylor was initially arrested on receipt and possession of child pornography in August 2016 after a 10-year-old reported Taylor had taken pictures of her genital area with a cell phone.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office forwarded the information to the State Bureau of Investigation who executed a search warrant at Taylor's residence and seized several computer devices.  Some of the devices contained images and videos of child sexual abuse, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Evidence indicates that Taylor had collected more than 1,600 images in approximately 11 years.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones terminated Taylor's employment after learning of the evidence against him.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the cell phone used to take pictures of the child wasn't found during the search.  Taylor told law enforcement that he had lost the phone and it was damaged.

Prior to the investigation, Taylor had applied for a position as a school resource officer.

Typical of pedophiles to try and put themselves in a position to access more children.

"Kevin Taylor was a child predator disguised as a law enforcement officer who was charged with protecting our community," Acting U.S. Attorney Clark Morris said in a statement. "Taylor not only failed to protect our community, but infected our community by preying on children.  I thank the agents and prosecutors in this case for their hard work in obtaining such a strong sentence.  This prosecution should send a message to others that the protection of our children will always be a priority, and those that victimize our children will be punished to the fullest extent of the law."

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones stated: "My office will continue its work to identify threats to the community and we will not tolerate anything but professional conduct from those who serve in our ranks.  When matters such as this are brought to our attention, we will take swift action and assist agencies in any way possible to ensure these types of crimes are dealt with properly."

Former Big Stone Gap, VA police officer pleads guilty,
sentenced for child sex crimes
By News Channel 11 Staff

WISE COUNTY, VA (WJHL) –  A former Big Stone Gap police officer pleaded guilty today in the Wise County Circuit Court to several sex offenses committed against a child.

Oliver Mullins, age 32 of Pound, Va, was convicted of aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15. Prosecutors said the crimes happened over a two-year period.

Mullins was sentenced to 30 years in the penitentiary with 20 years suspended — meaning he will actually serve an active sentence of 10 years. He must also register as a sex offender and will be required to complete 20 years of supervised probation after he is released from prison.

Prosecutors said in early 2016, a child reported to a teacher that she had been sexually assaulted by Mullins. An investigation by local social services and Virginia State Police revealed that Mullins had inappropriate sexual contact with the girl between March 2014 and April 2016. In addition, prosecutors said evidence showed Mullins showed the victim pornographic material.

Mullins was a police officer with the Big Stone Gap Police Department at the time.

Commonwealth Attorney Chuck Slemp revealed on Friday a week long jury trial was originally scheduled to begin in October. Slemp said if the case went on to trial the child victim would have to testify about the details of the sexual abuse and endure cross examination from Mullins’s defense attorneys.

There are better ways to run a child sex abuse trial. Get into the 21st century, Virginia.

“Today’s plea serves to further protect this child from the abuse of Mr. Mullins. A jury trial would have been particularly traumatic for the victim in this case. Younger victims sometimes have difficulty testifying in front of a jury. Forcing this juvenile victim to endure a jury trial, testifying about these types of crimes, serves only to revictimize the child,” said Slemp.

The child will be re-victimized every day until they have the chance to tell their story. There are ways to do that without the child having to withstand cross examination by a hostile attorney.

Storm Lake, Iowa man arrested for child endangerment, sexual abuse
BRET HAYWORTH

SIOUX CITY | A Storm Lake, Iowa, man faces felony charges of sexual abuse and child endangerment, after police said he became abusive in a relationship that began via online dating.

The Storm Lake Police Department in a Friday release announced the arrest of Dylan Sassman, 25, after responding to a report Thursday of the alleged physical and sexual assault of a 28-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter.

Police said the woman told of meeting Sassman through a dating website in April, and the woman and daughter moved in with Sassman in Storm Lake after starting a relationship. Sassman's mother, Sherry Sassman, also lived in the home.

Police said the woman claimed that shortly thereafter "she and her daughter became victims of Dylan Sassman's control and manipulation."  The woman cited being physically abused by Sassman several times, including an episode where he allegedly punched her in the face, kicked and bit her on the nose, while holding her throat.

The woman also said Sassman physically abused her daughter, including striking and biting her face.

The release said the woman decided Thursday to "escape from Dylan Sassman's control" and spoke with police officers. Sassman was later arrested for third-degree sexual abuse, child endangerment causing injury and second-offense domestic assault.

Sassman has previously been arrested on felony charges in Buena Vista County. He is being held without bond in Buena Vista County Jail, and has a previous warrant for probation violation.

Sherry Sassman, 45, was also arrested on a felony charge of child endangerment causing bodily injury. She was held in county jail on $3,500 bond.

Not sure who Sherry Sassman is, but might be Dylan's mother.

Police said the woman and child have been reunited with their family.

Two Woodburn police officers accused of child sex abuse, corruption of a child

Whitney M. Woodworth, Statesman Journal

A Woodburn police officer is accused of sexually abusing and sodomizing a female minor, officials said.

Daniel Kerbs, 29, of Salem, was arrested by Tigard detectives on 13 charges, including six counts of third-degree sodomy, six counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree online sexual corruption of a child.

Kerbs was hired by the Woodburn Police Department in January 2015. He worked as a patrol officer and was placed on administrative leave July 26, said Woodburn police spokesman Jason Horton.

In a statement, Tigard police said Kerbs was taken into custody at his place of employment and lodged at the Washington County jail.

His arrest stemmed from a three-week long investigation. According to police, Kerbs was acquainted with the victim's family. During the alleged abuse, which took place in 2013 and 2014, the victim was a minor.

Kerbs was released from jail Friday and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Aug. 8.

                                                             *************************

He is the second Woodburn police officer to be in the news this week.

On Tuesday, former Woodburn police Detective Timothy Cobos pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree misconduct for repeatedly engaging in sexual relations while on duty.

Woodburn Police Chief Jim Ferraris said Cobos' conduct does not reflect the department's ideals.

"This is a tragedy, it's sad for our department and sad for our community," Ferraris said on Tuesday. "The key here is transparency and accountability. We believe in holding our people accountable for their actions."

Two Missouri men sentenced for child sex crimes - including an ex-police officer
By Daily Guide

Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Hillman announced, Friday morning, the sentences of two men, David Milcendeau, 58, of Waynesville, and Darien Kissel, 20, of Richland, who were prosecuted for sexual crimes against children.

Milcendeau, a former police officer, was arrested in July 2015 by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) for Child Molestation in the First Degree and Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree.

Milcendeau was the subject of a press release by then, Sheriff Ronald Long, at the time of his arrest because a deputy was injured by a vicious dog owned by Milcendeau. The deputy suffered “significant, but not serious, injury” during the arrest.

Milcendeau was convicted of both charges, according to Hillman, and a jury recommended that he be sentenced to life imprisonment plus fifteen years. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ken Clayton and Bryce Crowley in Phelps County, as the case was moved there on a change of venue. Judge Beger followed the Phelps County jury’s recommendation.

                                                         ****************************

Kissel pleaded guilty to Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree at a pretrial conference, Hillman reported.

Kissel’s charges stemmed from several incidents where he allegedly sexually assaulted a five-year-old child last year while she was in his care. The probable cause statement in Kissel’s case asked that he be charged with Statutory Rape in the first degree, Statutory Sodomy in the first degree, Child Molestation in the first degree, Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child, Sexual Abuse, and Furnishing Pornographic Material to a Minor.

Richland Police Department investigated Kissel’s case and it was prosecuted by Hillman and Clayton.

Judge Hickle sentenced Kissel to 30 years in the Department of Corrections, after he pleaded guilty to Statutory Sodomy.

“I am very proud that my office has sent five sex offenders to prison for significant prison sentences this month,” Hillman said. “Getting these sex offenders off the street and into prison makes Pulaski County a safer place to live. I want to commend the excellent police work of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and Richland Police Departments for their investigation of these cases. I also want to thank the efforts of the staff at Kids’ Harbor for their work on these cases. Finally, I want to commend my staff for their hard work getting sentences such as these.”

Well done people! God bless you.

Montgomery County authorities arrest two on unrelated child sex charges
By Margaret Gibbons

Authorities in Montgomery County on Friday announced the arrest of two men over the last seven days on unrelated, alleged sexual crimes against children.

A New Jersey man was arrested July 21 after he arrived in Conshohocken for an alleged sexual encounter with a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl. An Ambler man was arrested on Thursday for downloading and sharing child pornography, authorities said.

Troy M. Reese, 32, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, was picked up as a result of an undercover investigation by East Norriton Detective Michael Henricks, police said.

The detective, posing as the teen girl, responded to online advertisements placed by a man seeking sex with a “young thin white girl,” authorities said in court papers.

During an exchange of multiple text messages between the man, later identified as Reese, and the undercover detective, arrangements were made for the man to travel to Conshohocken for a sexual encounter. Law enforcement arrested Reese upon his arrival at an agreed-upon meeting place.

Reese is charged with criminal intent to commit involuntary sexual intercourse with a child under 16, statutory sex assault and related offenses. He was taken to the Montgomery County prison and held in lieu of $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 3.

                                                           *****************************

The preliminary hearing for Aron J. Gremore, 43, of Ambler, is slated for Aug. 8. He is currently in the county prison in lieu of $250,000 cash bail, records show.

Gremore came to the attention of Abington Detective Rick Beaghley on June 8, when the officer was conducting an undercover investigation into the sharing of child pornography over the internet, according to a criminal complaint.

According to the complaint, Beaghley said the investigation found 66 sexually explicit videos involving children under the age of 18 on Gremore's home computer.

Gremore is charged with sexual abuse of children-child pornography, dissemination of child pornography and related offenses, records show.
