Texas firefighter arrested for alleged
continual child sexual abuse
From dtaylor@hcnonline.com

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office has responded to the outcry of a juvenile female who is alleging sexual abuse that has taken place regularly over the last several years by a firefighter. The allegations were made to law enforcement on Nov. 1.

Liberty County resident James Russel Clymer was arrested on Tuesday, November 6 by lead investigator Cpl. Sean Mitchell of the LCSO Juvenile Sexual Abuse Unit and charged with continual sexual abuse of a young child. Clymer is a volunteer Assistant Fire Chief with the city of Liberty Fire Department.

Officials say the last offense was reported to have taken place on or about Monday, October 29.

The victim told her mother and school officials who, in turn, contacted Child Protective Services.

Good for you, girl! That took a lot of courage.

Clymer, 35, was placed in the Liberty County Jail on the felony charge while the investigation continues, officials said.

Oregon sex offender facing charges of encouraging child sex abuse, luring 15 y/o girl
Fox 12 Staff

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - A Portland sex offender is facing charges including encouraging child sex abuse and luring a minor involving a 15-year-old girl.

James Harold Scott, 50, was arraigned in court Tuesday on additional charges of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and online sexual corruption of a child.

Court documents state the victim was known to Scott.

A probable cause affidavit states the girl told her mother about text messages that had been exchanged with Scott that included sexually explicit content from him.

The girl told investigators Scott sent a nude photo of himself to her, and pressured her to send him sexually explicit images.

The investigating officer learned Scott is on post-prison supervision and is not supposed to have contact with minors, following sexual offenses in 1987 and 1998.

The State of Oregon sex offender registry lists Scott as a “predator” with a “history of sexually assaulting minor and adult female acquaintances and strangers.”

Scott is scheduled to appear in court next on Nov. 15.

After 70 y/o Missouri man charged with child sex abuse, police say there may be more victims
BY MELISSA STERN

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- A 70-year-old Independence man is charged with sexually abusing a nine-year-old girl. Now, police say it's possible that he may have abused more children.

Prosecutors charged Samuel Schuler with two counts of statutory sodomy and sexual misconduct.

As they build their case, experts say your kids may be trying to tell you something without ever saying a word. “We see, on average, 800 children a year,” said Lisa Mizell, the CEO of the Child Protection Center. Mizell said physical and sexual abuse almost always happens by someone a child knows.

According to court documents and investigators, that's true with the case involving Schuler, too. Court documents show that about two weeks ago, Independence police were called to Children's Mercy Hospital to investigate a sex abuse case.

The victim's mom told police Schuler was watching her child at his apartment. The report goes on to say that the victim told police about a month earlier, Schuler gave her pot and a "blue kinky drink."

Then Schuler took pictures of her -- and two other girls -- and performed sexual acts.

“It's always important to have an open line of communication with your children, but probably the most important thing you can do is know where they`re going and who they`re with,” Mizell said.

Mizell added that you should watch for mood swings and change in behavior. If you do notice a change, try to find out what's going on. If you're concerned that your child has been exposed to a situation like this, call police.

Schuler told police the girls made up the allegations and they are not true. He also told investigators he would not pass a lie detector test because he "gets nervous before taking them."

Hmmmm. I wonder how many he has taken, and why?

Child Sex Abuse Charges

Omar Harrison, 43, a former Dean at Mastery Charter Harrity Middle School in Philadelphia, was convicted of sexual abuse charges.

Following a jury trial, Harrison was found guilty of statutory sexual assault, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child less than 16 years of age, institutional sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, and corruption of a minor.

He faces lifetime Megan’s Law registration.

According to prosecutors in the case, on June 12, 2017, Harrison drove a 14-year-old girl to the Econo Lodge in Essington Township where the sexual assault occurred. During the ride to the motel, officials say, Harrison told the victim "don't be nervous, don't be scared, if you want to do this, you can't tell everybody, you're going to get me trouble.”

After the sexual assault occurred, he drove her home and dropped her off on the corner.

Missouri couple facing charges of sexual abuse,
exploitation of a child
BY KEVIN S. HELD

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A couple accused of taking photos of young girls in bathrooms across St. Louis County is facing additional charges tied to the abuse and exploitation of a minor.

In March 2018, police arrested Heather McDorman and Zachary Hamby after McDorman was discovered taking pictures of an 11-year-old young girl while inside the women’s restroom at the South County Mall. Investigators later learned the pair had secretly photographed girls at seven malls and stores in February and March. Federal charges were levied against the couple.

Authorities have released new information about the couple.

According to probable cause statements filed in mid-October and recently obtained by Fox 2/KPLR 11, McDorman was charged with abuse of a child, sexual exploitation of a minor, and first-degree statutory sodomy. Hamby was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of first-degree statutory sodomy.

On February 10, police said Hamby directed McDorman to produce “live photos” of a child known to both defendants. McDorman complied and took photos of the child fully nude and tied up in a state of bondage. Authorities said McDorman sent the photos to Hamby via text message.

On March 1, McDorman again produced “live photos” of the same child’s genitals and anus for Hamby. In this instance, McDorman made touched the child’s genitals and anus in a lascivious manner. Again, McDorman sent the images to Hamby via text message.

And on March 2, McDorman took photos of herself touching the same child’s exposed penis while they were at Arnold City Park. She sent those images via text to Hamby as well.

Just days ago, Jefferson County prosecutors filed several charges against McDorman for incidents that occurred February 1. McDorman was charged with three counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, and one count of sexual abuse or neglect of a child under the age of 14.

Jefferson County prosecutors also filed charges against Hamby dated February 1. Hamby was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, and one count of sexual abuse or neglect of a child under the age of 14.

Charges dropped in 2017 Utah child sex abuse case
By Amy Macavinta

Two individuals who were facing a minimum of 25 years in prison if convicted in a child sex abuse case are off the hook for now after charges were dismissed, although charges can be refiled in the future if evidence anticipated by prosecutors falls into place.

James Pilgrim, 45, and Melissa Tilley, 37, were charged in April 2017 with the rape and sodomy of a child that allegedly occurred in 2009.

According to court records, Pilgrim and Tilley were both interviewed at the onset and denied harming the child. At the time, the child was so young that she was unable to fully articulate what happened to her.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office was contacted a second time after that child grew older and began to tell a therapist that she had been physically and sexually abused by both Tilley and Pilgrim, court records say.

Investigators also indicated there was DNA evidence to implicate Pilgrim in the alleged sexual abuse. However, after more than a year of trying to prosecute the case, charges against him were dismissed in August, with a notation in his file that said DNA was being submitted to the lab and the County Attorney’s Office would reconsider charges when the results came back.

Consequently, it has taken well over a year to get DNA results, and they still don't have them. Wow!

Tilley, who is now living out of state, was scheduled to appear before Judge Kevin Allen on Monday. After a brief discussion with attorneys at the bench, Allen said he was not going to grant any more continuances in this case.

Charges against Tilley have also been dismissed, although prosecutors can refile charges against one or both of them if they bring forth sufficient evidence for a conviction.

Pilgrim, who was a Franklin County resident, is already serving a 25-to-life prison term on a 2015 murder conviction, and according to the Idaho Department of Corrections, he will not be eligible for parole until 2037.
