J.K. Rowling slams her address doxxing

Harry Potter’s creator J.K. Rowling blasted three ‘activist actors’ who published her home address on Twitter, saying that she would not succumb to intimidation.

“Last Friday, my family’s address was posted on Twitter by three activist actors who took pictures of themselves in front of our house, carefully positioning themselves to ensure that our address was visible,” the British writer wrote.

In a long thread of tweets, she thanked social media users who had reported the photo to the Twitter support team and expressed her gratitude to Police Scotland “for their support and assistance in this matter.”

The accounts of the individuals mentioned by Rowling appear to be blocked.

Rowling also called on those who had retweeted the image to delete it as soon as possible.

“I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out,” Rowling underlined.

She listed names of other women – lawyers, feminists, human rights activists – who had also become targets of “campaigns of intimidation,” adding that many others who do not have public profiles and protection have been bullied “for no other reason than that they refuse to uncritically accept that the socio-political concept of gender identity should replace that of sex.”

Rowling has been widely criticised by various LGBT groups for her refusal to adopt gender-neutral language that, in her opinion, undermines the very concept of sex and womanhood.

The author’s comments were met with mixed reaction on Twitter. While the majority of commentators deplored the publication of the photo, others claimed that they were not surprised by the incident and called on Rowling to engage with the dialogue on gender-related issues and to listen to those who might feel offended by her remarks on the matter.

The world now seems to be circling around the fear that someone might say something to hurt someone else's feelings. A society built on such a concept is surely a society diving headlong into madness.

The Free Speech Union expressed its support for Rowling and other women facing abuse and harassment.

“We urgently need to rebuild a culture of open debate and dialogue. Threats cannot be allowed to silence dissent,” – the organisation said.

“I find it very hard to keep my temper reading about the way you are harassed and treated by these people. Huge respect and solidarity as always and I hope the police deal with this matter decisively. Much love,” said one of the Twitter users.

“Take a few minutes to Google ‘JK Rowling transphobic comments’ or ‘JK Rowling terf’ and you’ll get your answer,” – another one claimed.

Phrase ‘trigger warning’ is too triggering for students, university says

Worried that emotionally fragile students might not be able to handle it, Warwick University has scrapped the use of the term “trigger warning” to alert students to the presence of provocative material in assignments.

The phrase “trigger warning” itself has become a provocative term, the university confirmed to the Daily Mail on Sunday, announcing it had relegated the phrase to the dustbin of university history and replacing it with “content notes.”

Such ‘notes’ varied in content, but were generally described as being necessary because “trigger” is too “provocative” a word to deploy on a daily basis.

The decision to pull the trigger on trigger warnings didn’t go over well with everyone. Tory MP Andrew Bridgen insisted the university’s move to take offence at the word was “ludicrous.” He also argued content warnings in general were “getting out of control and harming the next generation” and wondered who was behind demands for students to tie themselves into such linguistic pretzels.

Who is actually calling for these trigger or content warnings? Is it resilient young people or woke-afflicted academics?

The university’s reading material is widely marked-up with “content notes,” according to the Daily Mail, with such notices advising that plays, poems, and books like Homer’s ‘The Odyssey’ and, somewhat ironically, George Orwell’s ‘1984,’ are “not comfortable” reading. Shakespearean tragedies, students are also warned, may be “riddled with representations of violence and the suffering caused by violent acts.”

One ‘content note’ reproduced by the Mail suggests the entire literary canon might as well be subject to one big trigger warning, pointing out that, “studying literature necessarily involves confronting particular ideas, words and experiences that you might find offensive, upsetting, or disturbing. All of the modules you take in the department will involve material that can be difficult for some people, even traumatic.”

After submitting a Freedom of Information Act request, the Mail was told that Warwick’s English and Comparative Literary Studies department “helps” students deal with “difficult and complex questions.” The spokesperson admitted that the way the school dealt with such “strategies” had recently changed, but did not elaborate further.

Russian parliament mulls ban on gay movie scenes

A bill that would ban scenes showing homosexual relations in films and TV shows is set to be considered by the Russian parliament, the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly’s Committee on Family Affairs, Women, and Children has said.

Speaking to RIA Novosti on Monday about the proposals, Vitaly Milonov of the governing United Russia party confirmed that the law will be scrutinized in the State Duma and that work on the text is underway. “The legal solution to this situation is just around the corner,” he said.

Milonov, a high-profile MP, said that people should have the right to ask the state’s regulator to not allow the broadcast of films with LGBT+ content. “Whoever wants can have special access to such videos, as well as with pornography,” he remarked, stating that there is a public demand to not depict homosexual scenes.

A survey from the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) released earlier on Monday revealed that 80% of respondents believe that it is unacceptable to show homosexual relations in films and TV shows with age 18+ restrictions, while 57% of Russians surveyed said that the screening of scenes showing what they consider to be “sexual deviance” should be banned.

The consideration of the legislation against content depicting same-sex relationships coincides with a member of Russia’s Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights telling Vedomosti that he had developed a “catalog” to mark so-called ‘toxic content’ on the internet. The resource would flag topics such as radical feminism, ‘childfree’ lifestyles, as well as the promotion of homosexuality and bestiality.

Milonov, known for making inflammatory remarks about the LGBT+ community, attracted a backlash from Russia’s Human Rights Council in August after he brandished homosexual people as being the “lowest stage of development of the animal world.” The official also called for the country’s gay population to be “sterilized” like stray cats, while the head of Russia’s Human Rights Council, Valery Fadeev, said he should “watch his language” on the subject.

What's the point! Gays don't generally procreate anyway. In an evolutionary world it is impossible for gays to exist, if, in fact, people were born gay.

Russia enacted what is often termed a ‘gay propaganda law’ in 2013, which saw restrictions enforced against content deemed to endorse “non-traditional sexual values among minors.” The legislation has been criticized both domestically and internationally for allegedly attacking LGBT rights. However, President Vladimir Putin has defended the move, insisting it “has nothing to do with persecuting individuals for their sexual orientation.”

Asked by journalists in 2014 about his views on the subject, the Russian leader said, “I don’t care about a person’s orientation, and I myself know some people who are gay. We are on friendly terms. I’m not prejudiced in any way.”

While Russia is working hard to reduce the growth of homosexuality, western countries are doing their best in schools to promote it, along with gender fluidity. No wonder Orthodox Christians are leaving the USA for Russia.

Biden Bill Forces Faith-Based Child Care to Affirm LGBT Ideology

or Lose Federal Funding

Religious liberty watchdogs are raising concern about the child care plan within President Biden's massive "Build Back Better" plan, saying its requirements could shut out Christian and other faith-based facilities that affirm traditional, biblical doctrine.

The White House says the bill would cut "child care spending on young children by more than half" and provide "free preschool for all 3- and 4-year old children."

The controversy involves language within the House-passed bill that would require preschool and child care facilities to abide by federal nondiscrimination laws related to gender identity and sexual orientation. This means, critics say, that faith-based facilities that affirm biblical beliefs on marriage and gender would not be able to participate because they do not hold to LGBT ideology.

The Build Back Better bill would represent a change in how faith-based child care centers receive funding. Currently, they are not bound by federal nondiscrimination laws.

A poll released this summer by the Bipartisan Policy Center found that 53 percent of the child care facilities used by parents are faith-based.

The bill has sparked concern from Christian, Catholic and Jewish institutions.

Alliance Defending Freedom last week released a statement criticizing the bill's language. ADF's Zach Pruitt said the bill "contains funding provisions and new grant programs that are likely to exclude many faith-based childcare providers while cutting funding to existing childcare programs currently being utilized by many faith-based providers." This, he said, "jeopardizes the freedom of parents to send their children to childcare programs that align with their religious beliefs."

Religious organizations, according to the New York Times, say the bill's provisions would "force them to choose between participating in the child care initiative and continuing to teach religious content, convene all-boys or all-girls programs, or give preferences in hiring or admissions to people of their religion."

"It will be detrimental to our ability to participate," Jennifer Daniels, the associate director for public policy at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), told the Times. "It would impact our ability to stick with our Catholic mission in a variety of ways. We've worked really hard to make our concerns known."

The USCCB has said the bill's provisions are a "departure from the approach in existing federal programs" and present "new and troubling compliance obligations."

"This will effectively exclude many faith-based providers from participation (or in some already existing state-based programs, continued participation), thereby severely limiting options for families, and suppressing a mixed delivery system," the USCCB said.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin reportedly has sided with religious groups on the issue, The Times says.

Theologian and seminary president Albert Mohler says that if the bill passes, "religious institutions … would not be able to operate" in a way that's "consistent with their own beliefs, especially when it comes to the gender and sexual morality revolution."

"It may be true that there would be many Christians who would say, 'Well, this isn't about me. It's not about my interest. It's not about my religious organization or favorite institution,'" said Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. "... Just understand profoundly that if they're coming with this revolution for the Orthodox Jewish preschool, they're coming for yours as well."

Trudeau has been running an anti-faith program like this for 5 years now, aimed at summer youth programs. This may be where Biden and his minions got the idea. Unfortunately, expanding the program to include day programs, will likely come full circle back to Canada in this spring's budget.

These are attacks on God by those who don't actually believe in Him, even though both Biden and Trudeau are nominal Catholics.
