Islam - Current Day > Child Sex Attacks in London Migrant Hotel; Fulani Herdsmen Kill 15 Christians; Rewards for Palestinian Terrorist

..

Teen boy ‘raped at refugee hotel’ where ‘another child

was sexually assaulted in separate attack’

Jane Matthews, Will Potter
11:12, 3 Nov 2022, Updated: 16:54, 3 Nov 2022

A TEENAGE boy has claimed he was raped at a refugee hotel where a child is said to have been sexually assaulted in a separate attack.

Police have arrested two men after launching probes into the alleged sex attacks which are said to have taken place at a hotel used to house refugees in East London.

The claims come amid fears of chronic overcrowding and unsafe facilities for refugees that have put significant pressure on the home secretary

A teenager has claimed he was raped by a man in his 30s at the hotel.

And another alleged sexual assault against a child is said to have taken place at the facility.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed to The Guardian that officers were investigating both sex crime claims.

Cops today confirmed to The Sun Online that a man in his 30s had been arrested and charged for rape, while a teenager had been arrested for sexually assaulting a child.

The rape is said to have happened last month, while the alleged sexual touching was a month prior.

The Met said: "Police were called on Wednesday, 5 October to a report of a rape at a hotel in Waltham Forest. Officers attended and spoke to the victim, a boy in his teens, and his family. Specialist support is being provided.

"A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He was bailed to return on a date in early January 2023."

Good grief! A rapist was bailed!!! Where did he go but right back to the hotel where the boy was raped? Does that make any sense?

They added: "A male, believed to be aged 17, was charged on Sunday, 11 September with one count of sexual touching of a child under 13. He was bailed by the court to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 9 November.

"The charge relates to an incident at a hotel in Waltham Forest on Friday, 9 September. The victim is being supported by specialist officers."

Both incidents took place within weeks of each other at a hotel where 150 children are reportedly squeezed in alongside 250 adults.

This comes after growing fears of chronic overcrowding and unsafe facilities for refugees that have put significant pressure on the home secretary, Suella Braverman.

The Guardian reported Grace Williams, the leader of Waltham Forest council, had written to Braverman to raise concerns about the lack of safeguarding at the London facility.

She reportedly said: “We have continuously expressed our view that accommodating families with children in contingency hotels is detrimental to children’s wellbeing. It is now evident that it is a risk to their safety too.”

The Home Office said: "It would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing police investigation. We work around the clock with the police and local authorities to ensure the children in our care are safe."

Apparently, something is not working!

Clearsprings Ready Homes, which The Guardian reported operates the hotel for the Government department, declined to comment.

Islamic Extremists Kill 15 Christians in North-Central Nigeria

Morning Star News,
October 27, 2022:

ABUJA, Nigeria (Morning Star News)Suspected Fulani herdsmen and other terrorists killed two Christians in north-central Nigeria on Friday (Oct. 21) after slaughtering 13 others in two prior attacks, sources said.

The assailants attacked Gidan Ityotyev village, Obi County, at about 11 p.m., killing Moses Saaku and Aondofa Saaku and wounding a Christian woman, all members of the Universal Reformed Christian Church (NKST in Nigeria), said local community leader Ukpuu Abaa in a text message to Morning Star News.

“A Christian woman by the name of Kwaghdoo Saaku was injured when the herdsmen cut off one of her breasts,” Abaa said. “The herdsmen during the invasion of our village shot randomly at our people who were sleeping in their houses.”

In Keana County’s predominantly Christian village of Gidan Sule on the night of Oct. 8, the terrorists killed 10 Christians, displacing hundreds of others, said Peter Ahemba, president of the Tiv Development Association. Most of the slain Christians were women, children and the elderly who were unable to escape the onslaught, he said in a text message.

“Ten corpses of Christians killed during the attack on Gidan Sule community were recovered on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 9, by survivors in the community,” Ahemba said. “The attackers, who we strongly believe are herdsmen and terrorists, shot sporadically on Christians who were sleeping in their houses.”…

Nigeria led the world in Christians killed for their faith last year (Oct. 1, 2020 to Sept. 30, 2021) at 4,650, up from 3,530 the previous year, according to Open Doors’ 2022 World Watch List report. The number of kidnapped Christians was also highest in Nigeria, at more than 2,500, up from 990 the previous year, according to the WWL report.

Of course, these numbers require the cooperation of the Muslim government.

Nigeria trailed only China in the number of churches attacked, with 470 cases, according to the report.

In the 2022 World Watch List of the countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian, Nigeria jumped to seventh place, its highest ranking ever, from No. 9 the previous year.

$306,972 and university degrees – PA rewards to Hamas terrorist

involved in suicide bombing that murdered 23

by Nan Jacques Zilberdik,
Palestinian Media Watch,
November 1, 2022:

Do you know what a Palestinian terrorist who aided a suicide bomber who murdered 23 people received in prison? A generous salary and university degrees!

As Palestinian Media Watch has documented, the PA rewards imprisoned terrorists financially with monthly salaries from the day of arrest. In addition, the PA grants imprisoned terrorists several benefits, among them the possibility to earn university degrees. This is done in cooperation with the PA Ministry of Education and several Palestinian universities.

One imprisoned terrorist who has benefited from both is Hamas member Majdi Za’atri, who is serving 23 life sentences for transporting a suicide bomber to the bus the bomber chose for his attack and where he ultimately murdered 23, including children and babies, in 2003. Za’atri’s father proudly listed the degrees his murderer son has or will obtain while in prison:

Official PA TV host: We will talk about the dreams and ambitions of Majdi Za’atri (i.e., terrorist, involved in murder of 23)… He took advantage of the years in the occupation’s prisons. Has he obtained any certificates inside prison? …

Barakat Za’atri, father of terrorist Majdi Za’atri: “Allah be praised, he obtained a matriculation exam certificate, and after three years obtained a bachelor’s degree in social work. Now he is registered for a master’s degree, Almighty Allah willing, and within a year he will have a master’s degree.”

That should do him a lot of good in prison! How does a mass murderer qualify for a degree in social work? That shows you just how screwed up Palestinian society is. I mean, how bad can Palestinian society be that a mass murderer could improve it?

In addition to free education for his involvement in the murder of 23 people, Za’atri has received a steady salary according to the PA’s “Pay-for-Slay” program. By the end of December 2022 the PA will have paid him $306,972 (1,081,800 shekels).

Boko Haram Takes Their Insanity to Niger, Chad and Cameroon

Female suicide bombers kill 5 in north Cameroon
No group claims responsibility, but attacks are in line with others launched by Boko Haram

The Associated Press
Two dozen people were killed in Kano, northern Nigeria, in February when a pair of teenaged suicide bombers suspected to from Boko Haram set off blasts at two bus stations. Saturday's bombings in neighbouring Cameroon were perpetrated by at least one teen, and are also believed to have been the work of Boko Haram. (EPA)

Two female suspected Boko Haram militants detonated a pair of suicide bombs in a village in northern Cameroon on Saturday, killing at least five people, security sources and an official said.

Col. Jacob Kodji said a teenager set off explosives in a local shop, killing two people, and the other attacker targeted a family.

One wonders what kind of evil Boko Haram had to inflict on these girls to force them to murder/suicide?

The attacks occurred in the town of Dabanga near Cameroon's northern border with Nigeria. Kodji said the suicide bombers were Nigerians who came to Cameroon as refugees.

"The provisional toll is seven dead, including the two suicide bombers, as well as two soldiers injured," a senior government source told Reuters, requesting anonymity.

Kodji said 12 others were injured and are receiving treatment at a military camp in Mora.

Dabanga, Cameroon, map
No group claimed responsibility for the attacks, but they are in line with others launched by Nigeria's Boko Haram extremists.

This year Boko Haram has expanded attacks into Cameroon, Chad and Niger — all countries contributing troops to a regional force intended to wipe out the extremists.

Centred in northeast Nigeria, Boko Haram is a radical Sunni Muslim group that wants to create an Islamic caliphate and impose its version of strict Sharia law and is hostile to those following the Shiite branch of the religion.

On Friday, a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber detonated himself in the middle of a procession of hundreds of Shiite Muslims in Nigeria's second-largest city, killing 21 people and injuring dozens.

Tim ..... Words of wisdom that need to be heard. The plain and simple of it is that Mohamed was a better Charlie Manson than Charlie Manson and his followers were bigger morons than the Manson family.

EUROPE IS BEING RAPED, BUT DON’T CRY; SHE SEEMS TO LIKE IT

An explosion lights the front of a kosher supermarket as French police special
forces launch their assault, where several people were taken hostage
in eastern Paris. Photo source: Reuters
By: Y.K. Cherson

The reports from France (for one week in January) look like the reports from a war; three days of attacks leaving 17 dead along with three terrorists, and this after several attacks in late December. One after another, all over France, leaving dozens of people wounded, hostages taken and shot, thousands of Police and RAID troops deployed, and ALL the strikes were perpetrated by Muslim converts and immigrants – or their first or second generation descendants. All the attacks were religiously motivated and accompanied by the sadly famous Muslim battle cry “Allahu Akbar,” “Allah is the Greatest.”

If this is not a religious war– then what is it?

Ah, I know; they are all just “lone wolf” attacks, without any link to one another, and of course, without any link to Islam, the “most peaceful” religion on Earth.

At least, this is what European- in general- (and French, in particular)- politicians say.

And those who killed people-mainly civilians and all non-Muslims- in Dijon, Nantes, Paris- they were not Muslims. They were some mysterious “Islamists” or “jihadists” who simply “do not interpret Islam correctly.” Islam is the religion of peace. And Muslim communities of course did not have any idea what these “black sheep” were going to do.

And we must be tolerant. And we should not blame many for the sins of the few. And we cannot answer violence with violence, because violence engenders more violence. And we must unite, join hands, and start a dialogue. And we must express our opposition to terrorism and protest- but peacefully, with placards “je suis Charlie” and flowers in our hands.

In this latest episode the perpetrators wanted to “die as martyrs,” and they were killed during the rampage. But this was not the case with the attacks last month and is atypical of what we normally see.

The traditional Western reaction, instead of shooting these terrorists right on the spot after catching them, covering them with pig skins to deny them any hope of getting to their Muslim “paradise,” is that we shall give them lawyers, treat them kindly, and sentence them to 25 life terms, (which is an absolute stupidity, because a human being has only one life to live)- but knowing full well that they will get out after serving just some 20 years in a civilized French jail, with a balanced diet, gym, swimming pool, television, newspapers- all this at the expense of the taxpayers including sons, daughters, wives, husbands and parents of those they killed  because they are humans, and we live in a democratic society…And blah blah blah, according to European mainstream media and television talk shows.

Are you not tired of this sickening lie, my dear civilized and tolerant Europeans? Do you not understand that you are being killed, as a people and as a civilization? That those Muslims you accepted in your nice, tiny, comfortable countries live by other laws and confess entirely different values, the principal one being that “Islam must dominate the world,” and that your tolerant laws for them are just a sign of weakness, and you and your “democracy” are for them nothing but a legitimate- and easy- military target?

Or maybe the perspective of losing your countries and your entire civilization means nothing to you? Oh, yes, I forgot: you are not French, German, British; you are “citizens of the World”! Motherland, patriotism, national pride, “it’s my country”…What an obsolete and old-fashioned nonsense! A drink, good food and a one night stand can be gotten anywhere.

A good friend of mine has been working with the police for 10 years as a consultant and interpreter in one very nice and calm European country, quite similar to what France used to be some 20 years ago. He has been a part of the investigation of hundreds of cases of rape and has noticed a very curious fact; women from Western European countries DO NOT RESIST!

They beg and cry and implore a rapist not to rape them – but they do not fight and obediently do what they  are told to do. And when they tell about what happened, they – you just imagine- carefully avoid words like “Arab,” “Pakistani” or “Black,” although it’s no secret that between 60% and 90% of all rapes in European countries are committed by this category of immigrants. How the media , schools and governments should brainwash them if they do not forget about political correctness even after being raped!

And women from Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, as well as from Arab countries – fight, and fight desperately. And quite often, they arrive to the police station badly bruised and bleeding- but not raped. And they do not hesitate for a second to say that the guy who tried to rape them was Arab, or Pakistani, or Black.

Women  are the soul of the people. And the people whose women obediently assume the position some dirty rapist orders them to assume and only beg and cry are a people of slaves.

Europe for the last 200 years has been more than ready to fall on her back before any rude and cruel invader, from Napoleon to Hitler and Stalin. But they at least were the leaders of powerful countries and mighty armies! Cruel, ruthless, monsters, yes; but outstanding. And now Europe is  falling on her back before some bunch of Muslim immigrants – and refuses to recognize that she is behaving like an old whore.

So, don’t cry that you are being raped, Europeans; looks like you like it.

Turning Children into Assassins

Destroying all that is decent in a child makes him a good Muslim

Child executioners prepare to slaughter a group of more than 25 regime soldiers
in the ancient city of Palmyra.
ISIS has released a horrific new video showing child executioners being forced to brutally slaughter a group of more than 25 regime soldiers in the ancient city of Palmyra.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights first reported that the Islamic State group had publicly executed a group of men in the city amphitheater in late May, shortly after the jihadist group captured the area from government forces.

The monitoring group said the men were accused of fighting for the Syrian government, and that local residents were forced to come and watch the mass execution.

Video footage of the slaughter, which was published via ISIS-linked Twitter accounts over the weekend, shows soldiers lined up on their knees on the stage of the Roman amphitheatre while child executioners, all wearing desert camouflage and brown bandanas, stand behind them.

ISIS fighters can be seen standing or sitting on top of the ancient ruins, watching over the crowd as they wait for the execution. A leader speaks to the audience, and on command, the condemned soldiers are killed simultaneously as the child fighters, who appear to be between 12 and 13, shoot them in the head.

ISIS seems to be taking a page from central African militant rebels who have been forcing children to shoot their mothers for many years. The purpose is to deaden anything resembling a conscience in the child so that he becomes a heartless killer. It is all about the destruction of innocence - just like pedophilia - and it comes straight from Hell.

As previously reported by the Gospel Herald, ISIS beat back Syrian forces under control of the Assad regime and captured Palmyra in May. During that time, the group carried out more than 200 killings, including of civilians, in and around the city.

Additionally, ISIS has destroyed the region's treasured ancient monuments; on Thursday, the group boasted in a statement that it had destroyed six archaeological artifacts in the city, which is over 2,000 years old and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The jihadist group also frequently uses children - known as 'caliphate cubs' - as suicide bombers, soldiers and executioners in their attempts to establish a caliphate across Iraq and Syria.

In the past several weeks, at least 500 children have been kidnapped from Iraq's Anbar and Diyala provinces and taken to the group's bases, where they are trained for use in "terror attacks", according to Iraqi authorities.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported in late March that ISIS recruited over 400 children to join its military ranks in Syria from Jan. 1 through March 23. While some of the children are recruited with their parents' consent as part of a "military training exercise," several more have been kidnapped without their parents knowing. As earlier noted by the Gospel Herald, the group also encourages children with birth defects to join their ranks, as some believe that these children are used as human shields, blood donors for wounded fighters, and suicide bombers.

"They use children because it is easy to brainwash them," Rami Abdulrahman, the head of the Syrian Observatory, told Reuters. "They can build these children into what they want. They stop them from going to school and send them to IS schools instead."

The group has also has regularly released videos of its mass killings, showing the gruesome violence in chilling detail that experts say is a key propaganda tool for the group.

"While ISIS likes the shock factor, these executions are chosen to show their compliance with Sharia law," said Ryan Mauro, national security analyst for the New York-based Clarion Project.

"ISIS is acting upon doctrines that say spies and apostates, those who leave Islam, are to be executed.

"ISIS will argue that these specific methods are justifiable according to Islam as they see it, and that they are not being barbaric just for the sake of it," he added. "Even its executions are an attempt to portray ISIS as the most legitimate followers of Islam."

Boko Haram Regroups; Resumes Massacres

After a month of relative quiet, Boko Haram has re-emerged as it's old, murderous, evil self

Boko Haram waged fresh attacks in northeastern Nigeria, locals said Friday, bringing to nearly 170 the number of people killed this week in violence President Muhammadu Buhari blasted as "inhuman and barbaric".

Militants have launched multiple attacks in restive Borno state since Wednesday, with people attending evening prayers during the holy month of Ramadan gunned down, women shot at home, and men dragged from their homes in the dead of night.

A young female suicide bomber also killed 12 worshippers when she blew herself up in a mosque in Borno and while there was no immediate claim of responsibility, Boko Haram has used both men and young women and girls as human bombs in the past.

"President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the latest wave of killings by Boko Haram in Borno state, describing them as most inhuman and barbaric," the presidency said in a statement.

The wave of attacks, which took place over less than 36 hours, is the bloodiest since Buhari came to power in May, vowing to root out the insurgency that has claimed more than 15,000 lives.

Bodies 'lying unattended'

News of the violence first emerged on Thursday, when survivors described raids on three different villages in Borno the previous evening that left at least 145 people killed and houses burnt to the ground.

On Friday, fresh details of these killings emerged from a resident of Kukawa, the worst-affected village.

Baana Kole told AFP that he and others had managed to escape into the bush where they spent the night, before returning to bury the dead, only to find that the militants had laid mines everywhere.

"Some residents who hid in trees saw them planting the mines and alerted us when we returned to the village and started burying our dead," he said.

"So many dead bodies are still in Kukawa lying unattended. We had to abandon them because we could not carry them with us."

Bomber 'aged around 15'

Less than 24 hours later, a girl blew herself up in a mosque in Malari village, more than 150 kilometres away from Wednesday's attacks.

"The bomber was a girl aged around 15 who was seen around the mosque when worshippers were preparing for the afternoon prayers," Danlami Ajaokuta, a vigilante assisting the military against Boko Haram, told AFP.

"People asked her to leave because she had no business there and they were not comfortable with her in view of the spate of suicide attacks by female Boko Haram members.

"She made to leave but while the people were inside the mosque for the prayers she ran from a distance into the mosque and blew herself up," he added -- an account corroborated by resident Gajimi Mala.

And early Friday morning, as people were sleeping, Boko Haram militants dragged men out of houses in Miringa village and shot them for escaping forced conscription.

They "picked 13 men from selected homes and took them to the Eid prayer ground outside the village where they opened fire on them," resident Baballe Mohammed said, adding 11 died and two managed to escape.

He and another resident said the victims had been targeted because they had fled their home village after Boko Haram tried to force them to join their ranks.

Boko Haram has 're-grouped'

The armed group has intensified its campaign of violence since Buhari came to power on May 29, launching raids, explosions and suicide attacks that have claimed more than 420 lives.

The spike in violence has sparked concern that earlier victories claimed by the armies of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon in the region are being eroded.

The four countries -- all of which border Lake Chad, a focal point of Boko Haram unrest -- launched offensives against the militants early this year as it became apparent that the armed group was gaining too much ground in Nigeria.

They managed to push the militants out of captured towns and villages, but the recent attacks highlight that Boko Haram is not defeated.

"The draw-down of counterinsurgency initiatives, in addition to the fact such undertakings remain limited to Nigerian territory only, have seemingly allowed Boko Haram to re-group, re-arm and mobilise their forces ahead of a renewed offensive," said Ryan Cummings, chief Africa analyst at the Red24 consultancy group.

A new regional fighting force comprising 8,700 troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin is due to deploy at the end of the month.

Sweden Still Unwilling to Acknowledge Cultural Suicide

Anti-Semitism in Malmö reveals flaws in Swedish immigration system and culture

Jewish community centre has been under armed guard, a rabbi attacked,
and few want to talk about it
By Karin Wells,
CBC News
Siavosh Derakhti, a Muslim and the child of refugees of the Iran-Iraq war, has
become a champion in the fight against anti-Semitism in Malmö, Sweden.
He gets hate mail from the far-right and death threats from fellow Muslims.
"A Jew, I cannot believe that you cannot be a Jew in Sweden!" says Siavosh Derakhti.

The 23-year-old Muslim is the child of Iranian parents, refugees of the Iran-Iraq war. He has become a champion in the fight against anti-Semitism in Malmö, a town a little smaller than Halifax, UK, perched on the southern tip of Sweden.

Muslim immigrants, most with roots in the Middle East, make up nearly a third of Malmö's population.

Cultural tension in the town has been building for years, much of it directed against the new immigrants, but anti-Semitism has also been rising. The Simon Weisenthal Center in Los Angeles issued a travel advisory to Jews in 2010 – don't go to Malmö. It reissued the warning last year.

Derakhti gets hate mail from the far-right and death threats from fellow Muslims. ...Because Islam is a religion of peace.

"When we have let the world into our town, we have the political controversy you have in the Middle East," says Anders Ekelm, vicar of the Church of Sweden in Malmö. "Among those people you will find anti-Semitism. We have to be honest about it."

Sweden has a generous immigration policy – last year the country of 9 million took in 85,000 refugees. According to an OECD study, that is more than twice as many immigrants per capita as any other member country. Canada, in comparison, takes a twentieth as many refugees proportionately. Thank you, Stephen Harper!

Masked protesters engage in a confrontation with police in Malmö, Sweden.
In recent years, protests for and against Muslim immigrants have been frequent
and sometimes violent. (Drago Prvulovic/Associated Press)
In Malmö the immigrants are concentrated in one pocket of the city, Rosengaard. Unemployment in the area runs at 70 per cent, stones are thrown regularly at mail carriers and police, and 150 cars were torched during summer riots in 2013. Protests for and against Muslim immigrants are frequent and tough.

Engineer Peter Fribourg and his wife Marie, a lawyer, are what are now called 'ethnic Swedes.' "It's a tough matter, you have different cultures colliding. We are not succeeding in the way we would like."

Marie agrees, adding that Malmö meant well but was not properly prepared to help the huge influx of immigrants settle. "I was much more liberal and welcoming before … (but) there have been so many in the last few years we do not know how to deal with them.
They will not assimilate."

Threatened minority

There have been 137 anti-Semitic incidents reported to authorities in Malmö the past two years.

The Rabbi of the Malmö synagogue, Shneur Kesselman, says he has been spat upon and cursed. Most recently, a bottle thrown from a passing car narrowly missed his head, he says.

nearly hit recently by a bottle thrown from a passing car. (Karin Wells/CBC)
Some have left because they are scared. The Jewish community in Malmö has shrunk by 50 per cent to about 1,000 in the past 10 years.

"Hatred of Muslims, as bad as it is — and it's terrible — is not challenging the Muslim minority, their safety," Kesselman says.

"Anti-Semitism here in Malmö today is threatening the existence of a minority."

In February, a Palestinian Dane shot and killed two people in Copenhagen, including a guard at a synagogue.  Copenhagen is a 20-minute train ride from Malmö. Police armed with automatic weapons were immediately stationed outside the community centre in Malmö.

"To be honest," says Sofia Lunderquist, administrative director of Malmö's Jewish community centre, "we were in a way happy, because finally the normal Swedes, the Swedish police and Swedish government understood that we're not fantasizing. They have woken up now." We can always hope! But have they really woken up or have they rolled over and gone back to sleep?

Even so, a few months ago, Lunderquist's 19-year-old son Jonathan Vaknine — the only Jew in a school of 1,600 — was swarmed in the hallway, sworn at and pushed around by young men asking 'Are you Jewish?'

Harassment of young Jews in Malmö is not unusual, but the difference is that Vaknine reported it to the police and gave them the name of one of the attackers. It was three months before the police called Vaknine for a statement, and the named youth was not interviewed.

There is a political correctness in Sweden.
You don't discuss your problems, you push them under the carpet.
- Peter Fribourg, Malmö resident

Malmo Harbour
A few weeks after the swarming, Swedish television aired an hour-long documentary on anti-Semitism in Malmö. A Swedish journalist put on a kippa, sat at an outdoor café and wandered into Rosengaard. He was called a Jewish Satan, and people threw eggs at him from their apartments.

Siavosh Derakhti was part of that documentary, and "it lit a fire in me," Vaknine says. He contacted Derakhti, who agreed to come to the boy's school to speak.

Derakhti has been awarded Sweden's first Raoul Wallenberg medal, named after the renegade Swedish diplomat who saved the lives of thousands of Hungarian Jews in World War II. He is a national figure, but the principal of Vaknine's school turned him down.

The school authorities did emphasize their concern for Vaknine's safety, but the student says he told them, "Safe is not enough. That is not the issue. If I hide who I am and hide my identity, of course no one will know I'm a Jew and they will not do anything. But if I am going with kippa, with things that show that I'm a Jew, I'm not sure I would be safe."

Residents say public discussion of immigration-related issues is difficult.

"There is a political correctness in Sweden," Fribourg says. "You don't discuss your problems, you push them under the carpet."

"And if you do talk about them, you are immediately called a racist," adds Lunderquist. "That's a very Swedish response, afraid of tackling problems. It's better to pretend the problem does not exist."

Jonathan Vaknine and his mother Sophia Lunderquist of Malmö, Sweden,
have first-hand experience with anti-Semitism in their local community.
(Karin Wells/CBC)
Derakhti was invited to meet U.S. President Barrack Obama when he visited Sweden two years ago, for example, but he is still waiting for a meeting with the Mayor of Malmö.

"Sweden is a country where we always try to reach consensus," says Lena Posner-Körösi, head of the Official Council of Jewish communities in Sweden. "You don't want anyone to be angry at you."

The effect, she maintains, is that nothing happens.

"The growth of the populistic parties all over Europe is a result of not dealing with the problems and not helping to integrate the newcomers to Europe."

A recent poll by Ipsos says the majority of Swedes want to keep the doors open to refugees, and Sweden plans to take in 100,000 this year. But at the same time, there is a growing realization that with immigration must come integration.

While the government remains slow to act, religious leaders and the Chamber of Commerce are now talking social cohesion.

For the first time there are town halls and surveys asking people about changes needed in Malmö. NGOs are moving in to immigrant districts with urban renewal projects.

"Yes, we should open up to everyone who needs to come here," says Posner-Körösi. "My father was one of 500 children allowed to come to Sweden from Berlin in 1939. My father survived because they at least let him and a few others in. We have to help each other. The problem is not letting people in, the problem is what do you do with those who are here."

She says the experiences of those in the Jewish community could ultimately contribute to helping Sweden find the answers to its immigration challenges.

"Jews have been in Europe for 2,000 years. We are integrated without being assimilated. We have so much to teach about minority identity — we have mutual interest to do something positive for future."

What a romantic vision she has! As if Muslims are willing to learn anything from Jews. It's just so Swedish of her!

With all this talk of antisemitism and immigration, the article completely ignores the spectacular increase in violent sex crimes in Europe, especially Norway and Sweden, directly related to immigration:

From a previous post:
Half of all rapes in Norway are committed by Muslims, and every single violent rape in Oslo for the past 5 years was committed by someone of non-western heritage, the majority of whom are Muslim.

Muslims make up only 1.5% of the population in Norway.

In Sweden, the incidence of rape has sky-rocketed in the last 15-20 years since the country opened its borders to immigration. In the first decade of the 21st century, foreign-born people were between 2 and 20 times more likely to commit rape than ethnic Swedes. In the 1990s it was only 2:8 times, what will it be in the 2010s, maybe 2:50 times.

Sweden has become the country with the second highest rate of rape per capita in the world. Only tiny Lesotho, in south Africa has a higher rate.

18,000 Palestinian Refugees Desperate as IS Invades Damascus Camp

Palestinian refugees desperate to get out
Islamic State (IS) militants have entered the Palestinian refugee camp Yarmouk in Damascus, activists and Palestinian officials say.

Clashes erupted between the militants and groups inside the camp, with IS seizing control of large parts of the camp, reports said.

The UN says about 18,000 Palestinian refugees are inside the camp.

IS militants have seized large swathes of territory in eastern Syria and across northern and western Iraq. But this is the group's first major attack near the heart of the Syrian capital.

IS fighters had seized control of large parts of the camp, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, and an official with the Palestine Liberation Organisation based in Damascus, said.

Yarmouk residents told BBC Arabic that members of Aknaf Beit al-Maqdis, a group formed by Palestinian militiamen opposed to the Syrian government, were leading the fight against the IS militants, along with some Free Syrian Army fighters.

Palestinian militiamen were able to retake some areas from IS later on Wednesday, residents told the BBC. There has been no official statement from IS about the attack.

Children at risk

Unrwa, a UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees, said in a statement that the fighting would place Yarmouk's civilians, including large numbers of children, "at extreme risk of death, serious injury, trauma and displacement".

And we know what IS does with young girls and women.

It demanded an end to the fighting and "a return to conditions that will enable its staff to support and assist Yarmouk's civilians".

Members of the self-proclaimed Islamic State stormed into the southern side of Yarmouk camp in the early hours of the morning and clashed with the Palestinian brigade, Aknaf Beit al-Maqdis.

Reports suggest they came in from the area of Hajar al-Aswad in the south of the capital.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Damascus, Anwar Abdulhadi, told the BBC that the group had seized the area of the camp near the Palestine Hospital.

Most information is coming from Palestinian officials in areas under government control.

The attack comes days before a deal to ease the humanitarian situation for civilians in the camp was set to come into operation.

Syria's bloody conflict, which has entered its fifth year, has claimed the lives of more than 200,000 Syrians.

The battle between forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad, rebels opposed to his rule and jihadist militants from Islamic State has also driven more than 11 million people from their homes.

The al-Qaeda linked al-Nusra Front captured the north-western city of Idlib from government forces on Saturday. It is only the second provincial centre to fall into rebel hands since IS seized Raqqa in March 2013.

Al-Nusra Front said on Wednesday that the city would now be ruled under Sharia, but that the group did not intend to monopolise power in the city.

Also on Wednesday, Jordan closed the Nasib border crossing, its only official crossing with Syria, due to fierce clashes between Syrian rebels and government troops.

Rebel forces were able to wrest control of the crossing from the Syrian government by Wednesday evening, reports said. A leader of the Yarmouk Army, one of the rebel groups, said the crossing had been "liberated", Reuters reported. A government security source also confirmed the seizure.

'Extreme hardship'

First built for Palestinians fleeing the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, Yarmouk was once considered by many to be the de facto capital of the Palestinian refugee diaspora.

Prior to the Syrian civil war, it had more than 150,000 refugees living there, and its own mosques, schools and public buildings.

However, the camp has been besieged by fighting between government troops and rebel forces since 2012.

Unrwa says about 18,000 refugees remain trapped in the camp, with inadequate access to food supplies, clean water and electricity.

In March, Unrwa said: "The extreme hardship faced by Palestine refugees in Yarmouk, but also in other locations in Syria as a result of the armed conflict is, from a human point of view, unacceptable."
