A Sydney jury has been empanelled for the trial of actor Robert Hughes, who is accused of child sex offences.
The 64-year-old is on trial for 11 charges involving girls aged from seven to 15.
He is accused of committing the offences between 1985 and 1990.
In the Downing Centre District Court a jury has been empanelled for his trial before Judge Zahra.
Robert Hughes has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Hughes has acted extensively in Australian theatre, film and television. He had many television roles including Hey, Dad!, Chopper Squad and The Paul Hogan Show. He also appeared in the movie ABBA: The Movie.
Hughes was investigated after Sarah Monahan, another character on the TV sitcom Hey, Dad! accused Hughes of inappropriate sexual behaviour on the set. Hughes' niece came forward and accused him of molesting her - which her mother denies.
