According to the White House, one in five American women is sexually assaulted or raped during their time at college and university.
President Barack Obama last month set up a task force to tackle college sexual assaults.
Many survivors say the universities themselves are failing to deal with the issue.
Obama said the situation was "totally unacceptable" and last month launched a task force to tackle the issue.
According to the White House report:
"'The dynamics of college life appear to fuel the problem, as many victims are abused while they're drunk, under the influence of drugs, passed out, or otherwise incapacitated."
Campus parties are often the site of the attack
Most people are attacked by someone they know
63% of admitted campus rapists say they have committed six rapes on average
Reporting rates on campus are lower than average, at 12%

22 out of 25 rapes go unreported, which is part of the reason why college rapists average 6 rapes each. Much of the reason why they go unreported is because of the horrid way that some universities deal with rape reports.
For instance, when Julia Dixon reported being raped, the University of Akron told her that she would have to attend a hearing where her accused rapist would be in the same room and would be allowed to ask her questions. That is hard to believe until you hear it from Julia herself.
