Police hunt for 4 more in minor's Heart-breaking sexual abuse case
Kerala, India: Thamarassery police have launched a hunt for four more accused in the case of sexual abuse of a minor girl. Police had earlier recorded the arrest of five persons, including the stepfather of the survivor.
The stepfather and other accused had been reportedly sexually exploiting the 17-year-old girl for more than a year. The incident came to light a few days ago after police carried out a search at the survivor's house based on a tip-off.
The survivor gave a statement to the police that her 50-year-old stepfather had started sexually abusing her since she was 12 years old. The stepfather was arrested on the basis of this statement on Thursday.
Police said he had been abusing the girl by threatening to kill her if she or her mother ever dared to complain against him. Residents noticed the crime when other persons started visiting the house. It was one of them who noticed the frequent visits and alerted Thamarassery DSP Jaison K Abraham about the frequent visits by some persons to the house.
The arrested -- T K Aboobackar alias Kunjan (48), M Shamseer (21), A Musthafa (48), V K Salim (44) and the stepfather -- were on Saturday produced in the principal sessions court and remanded in judicial custody.
Police said they had identified four more accused in the case. The accused will be charged under various sections of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the IPC, they said.
According to police the arrest of three more persons would be recorded in the coming days.
Of the total nine accused four are in the hiding as they got information that that the police had identified their involvement in the case.
