Dan Minor, 40, was sentenced to life confinement without the possibility of parole after being found guilty on three counts of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to a news release from Collin County District Attorney's Office spokesman Bill Dobiyanski.
That was fast! There is usually a delay of a month or two in sentencing, but, apparently, the judge didn't require much time to contemplate.
Minor lived in Plano from 2002 to 2009, during which time he molested three children, Dobiyanski said.
"One child disclosed the abuse in 2009, but conflicting statements prevented detectives from moving forward at that time," the release read, in part.
Don't conflicting statements just make you dig deeper? These children suffered 5 more years of sexual abuse and a pregnancy because of 'conflicting statements'! Something seems a little out of whack to me.
A second child provided officials with information in June of 2014 that supported the claims in the 2009 incident. Because of that information, officials discovered Minor's involvement in two more cases.
"A paternity test confirmed that Minor is the biological father of his daughter's child," Dobiyanski said. Officials had arrested Minor and obtained a search warrant for his DNA.
Jail records show each count against Minor as a first-degree felony.
Minor has lived in The Colony, which neighbors Plano to the west, since 2009. The Collin County DA's Office said the child abuse continued after Minor relocated.
Plano police investigated the case.
