Kashmir court sentences cleric to 3 years in jail
for unnatural sex with child
BY KL NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Kashmir

A Court in Sumbal Bandipora on Saturday found a cleric guilty of unnatural sex with a child in 2011 at Dar-ul-Uloom Naidkhai in the north Kashmir district and has sentenced him to three years.

Announcing the judgment, Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Sumbal Manzoor Hussain also imposed Rs 5000 on the convicted cleric, Ishfaq Hussain Dar, a resident of Lank Rasipora Bandipora.

The charge sheet culminating into the conviction of the cleric was filed by police following investigation of an FIR filed on a written complaint by the child’s father on 24 August 2011 that his minor son was subjected to sodomy by the cleric in the seminary.

Good grief! It only took 7 years to convict this pervert! Kashmir need POCSO laws!

“In view of the facts, reasons and circumstances of the case and on appreciation and evaluation of the evidence this court arrives at the conclusion that the prosecution has succeeded in proving the guilt of the accused of the commission of crime of sodomy with the victim child on 23/08/2011 at Dar-ul-Uloom Naidkhai,” the court said, “Therefore, the accused is found to be guilty of the commission of offence U/S 377 RPC is convicted and punished with simple imprisonment for three years and fine of Rs. 5000/-payable to the victim.”

In default of payment of fine, the court said that the cleric shall further undergo simple imprisonment for three months.

French Catholics demand parliament investigate
child sex abuse by priests

A group of French Catholics has urged the parliament to establish a special commission tasked with investigating reports of pedophilia within the Roman Catholic Church, which they say continues to ignore and cover the abuse.

"We call for the creation of a parliamentary investigative commission to probe the crimes of pedophilia and their concealment within the Catholic Church," says the petition published by the French Catholic weekly Temoignage Chretien, adding that the church in France is a subject to the law and cannot escape justice.

The instances of child sex abuse within the Catholic Church are not some isolated cases but a "systemic problem" acknowledged by the Pope himself, the petition says, adding that this problem cannot just be left for the Church to sort it out all by itself as "an interested party cannot be the judge."

"Today in our country the Catholic Church thinks it is enough to repeat the words of the Pope without taking any significant initiative to look into these crimes ... and especially their institutional and structural causes," the petition says, adding that the Church still prefers to either "ignore" or even "conceal" such instances of abuse.

The petitioners then cited the examples of Australia, Ireland and the US state of Pennsylvania, where "bodies, which are independent from the ecclesial institutions," have been created. At the same time, the petitioners said that their aim is not to "stir up a scandal but to end" the already existing "immense one" linked to the "deafening silence of the Catholic hierarchy in the face of suffering, which has, for the most part, been ignored or even concealed for too long."

The petition, which was published on Sunday, has already been supported by some French public figures and politicians, including the former health minister Roselyne Bachelot and MP Jacques Maire, who represents President Emmanuel Macron's 'The Republic on the move!' party. Two Socialist senators, Laurence Rossignol and Marie-Pierre de la Gontrie, also backed the appeal.

Some members of the French clergy also spoke favorably of the initiative. Archbishop of Paris Michel Aupetit said he has nothing against the "outside intervention" into the Church affairs "if the society believes it is important for [achieving] clarity and getting to the bottom of the issue."

Others, however, were seemingly more reluctant to support the measure that would put additional spotlight on the Church. The Church should not be "the only institution targeted," Luc Crepy, the bishop of the commune of Puy-en-Velay and the head of the Permanent Unit against Pedophilia, told the French media.

"It is a global problem of society," he added, warning that the Church "should not become a scapegoat" and saying that such commission should instead investigate all educational institutions working with children. "It would be unfair to say that the Church of France is doing nothing in the fight against pedophilia," he said, adding that "it may not be enough but a lot has been done in the last two years."

It is a global problem, but it is a far bigger problem in the Catholic Church than in any other organization in the world. The enormity of the Catholic Church and it's purported purpose of being 'the' instrument of salvation of mankind, makes it the most despicable of all organizations. Only a severe cleansing can save it, and for that, I do not hold out any hope whatsoever.

The developments come as the Roman Catholic Church is facing numerous accusation of child sex abuse within its ranks in many countries. A 1,400-page Pennsylvania Grand Jury report, released in August, accused over 300 'predator priests' of sex abuse, and the Roman Catholic Church of covering it up for decades.

In 2017, the Australian Royal Commission concluded that more than 4,000 children – mostly boys – were allegedly sexually abused by Catholic priests over decades, adding that since the 1950s some 7 percent of priests in the country were alleged perpetrators.

And in some orders the percentage was in the 20s, 30s, and 40s, and they were certainly conservative estimates.

In mid-September, an explosive report leaked to the German media revealed that as many as 3,677 people were abused by clergy between 1946 and 2014 in Germany. The Church also failed to avoid the scandalous incidents involving child sex abuse in France. One of the France's most prominent cardinals, Philippe Barbarin, is due to stand trial in January 2019 on charge of covering for a known pedophile priest in the city of Lyon.

In the face of this wave of accusations, the Vatican said in September that it would summon the presidents of every national bishops’ conference across the globe for a summit on preventing clergy sex abuse and protecting children, which is scheduled for February 2019.

Warning issued about ‘high risk’ B.C. sex offender

Jeffrey Goddard, now living in Surrey, committed most of his offences in Abbotsford, B.C.

Canadian judges make sure paedophiles have ample opportunity to prove they are no longer a danger to children. Unfortunately, most of them fail. Children almost always pay the price for man's folly, and far too many are destroyed by a court system that metes out minimal punishment time and time again, as though it is worth risking the safety, and sanity, of even one child for the sake of one who thinks only of himself.

NICK GREENIZAN

B.C.’s Ministry of Public Safety is warning Surrey residents of a “high-risk” sex offender who is living in the city.

Jeffrey Goddard, who committed most of his offences in Abbotsford before moving to Surrey, is the subject of a public notification from the ministry’s corrections branch. A news release was issued Tuesday afternoon.

Goddard, according to the release, “has maintained a pattern of sexual offending against male youth and adults… in both an opportunistic and predatory manner.”

He is also known to communicate with male and female youth by computer, the release notes.

Goddard is described as Caucasian, 5’ 9”, 170 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. In the past, he has presented himself as female, has worn female wigs and used the names Jessica Goddard or Brandy Leanne Goddard.

He has a criminal history that includes sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and luring under 16, impersonating a police officer and firefighter, and failure to comply with probation.

He is currently living in Surrey, and is under “close monitoring by authorities.”

Goddard is under 23 court-ordered conditions, which include not communicating directly or indirectly with anyone under the age of 18; not establishing, maintaining or accessing any social-networking sites and websites; and not attending any park, school, daycare, pool, playground, skating rink, community centre or recreational centre.

A previous warning was issued to Surrey residents about Goddard in 2017.

Two-week-old baby fighting for life ‘after being raped’
in Northern Ireland
It would appear to be a case of incest
Richard Hartley-Parkinson

A two-week-old baby has allegedly been raped and is fighting for its life in hospital.

The baby is in the paediatric unit at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children where it is being treated.

A man appeared in court earlier this week charged with rape and causing grievous bodily harm of a child, according to the BBC.

A baby was taken to hospital in Belfast after suffering from a suspected rape (Picture: Google Street View)

The baby was taken to hospital from the Annalong area of County Down. Police said that a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with rape and GBH with intent.

The attack is under investigation by detectives from the Serious Crime Branch.

His name cannot be reported in order to protect the baby’s identity and he has been remanded in custody at Maghaberry prison.

Which leads me to conclude that it was incest. Please pray for this baby!

He made a brief appearance in court on Saturday September 29 and was remanded in custody at Newry Magistrates’ Court next Wednesday.

'Dealer' of child-sex dolls is arrested after raids in Ireland

'Protecting children and vulnerable people within our communities is one of our highest priorities,' Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll, who heads Special Crime Operations, said in a statement yesterday. Photo: Collins

A "dealer" of child sex dolls has been arrested by specialist officers, who carried out 32 raids in 12 counties over the past five days as part of an ongoing investigation into online child abuse material.

The man, who is suspected of selling items related to child sexual abuse, was arrested and questioned and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

"He is suspected of importing and exporting these disgusting items and has been under surveillance for some time," a source said last night.

Gardaí are continuing to liaise with the child and family agency, Tusla, regarding child protection concerns that arise from the investigation.

Gardaí did not disclose where the suspect had been arrested. But they said digital material, computers and mobile phones were seized in the course of the searches. These items are now going to be forensically examined.

Gardaí also said that they will be carrying out more raids in the near future in the investigation that has been codenamed Operation Ketch, and which is targeting paedophiles who engage in child exploitation material.

This is the third series of searches to be carried out under Operation Ketch, which has targeted more than 100 suspects to date.

There were no women targeted in this series of raids, which included the homes of a number of professional males being searched.

In July, a number of child sex dolls were seized as part of the same ongoing operation when 31 homes across the country were searched.

Last February, 38 addresses were targeted. No one has yet been charged before the courts in relation to the probe.

It is being led by the Garda Online Child Exploitation Unit, which is located at the Garda National Protective Services Bureau.

"Protecting children and vulnerable people within our communities is one of our highest priorities," Assistant Commissioner John O'Driscoll, who heads Special Crime Operations, said in a statement yesterday.

"An Garda Síochána places great importance on undertaking proactive initiatives that target those who use the internet to exploit children online, and who are involved in the downloading of child abuse material."

12 accused of child sex abuse freed w/o charge in Ireland
11 more were arrested in an earlier operation

Twelve people arrested in connection with an investigation into alleged child sexual abuse have been released without charge.

Garda sources said yesterday that files would be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the arrests, which included male and female suspects. The 12 people were held on Monday as part of a two-year investigation into suspected paedophilia in the Munster area.

A garda statement said: “Gardaí have arrested a number of people in relation to an ongoing investigation. They are currently detained in garda stations in the southern and western regions of An Garda Síochána.” The suspects were held at different garda stations and questioned about alleged child abuse and child exploitation. It is understood that a number of the people arrested were previously questioned by gardaí over the alleged offences.

It is believed that 20 alleged victims have been identified and reporting restrictions have been imposed by a judge to protect the identities of the alleged victims. The media were warned that a breach of the court order would result in serious consequences.

In another operation this year, six men and five women were arrested and released without charge. They ranged in age from 20 to people in their seventies. The alleged victims have been removed to places of safety while inquiries have continued.

Report shows 40% rise in online child abuse in Ireland
By Cormac O'Keeffe
Security Correspondent
Irish Examiner

There has been a 40% jump in confirmed cases of online child sexual abuse imagery reported to the Irish internet industry.

The sharp increase has been accompanied by a worsening in the severity of images and a lowering in the age of victims.

Sin is progressive! This is how pornography works!

The Hotline.ie annual report for 2017 said that just over half of the images they analysed show sexual activity between adults and children, including rape and sexual torture.

The public reporting system, operated by the Internet Service Providers Association of Ireland, shows there were:

7,591 reports of suspected illegal content in 2017 — 5,789 involving child sexual abuse or child sexual exploitation and 1,802 reports of financial scams, racism, and xenophobia

This compares to 7,141 reports of illegal content in 2016 and 3,153 in 2015

Of the child sexual abuse imagery (CSAI) reports examined, 524 constituted child sexual abuse as defined by law — compared to 365 in 2016 and 327 in 2015

5,809 of the remaining reports were not illegal, with more than 3,000 involving adult pornography

The report said the 524 confirmed cases of CSAI were referred to the gardaí for further investigation. It said most cases involve hundreds or thousands of images and/or videos.

The report’s findings follow a third phase of Operation Ketch this week, involving searches of 32 premises across 12 counties, in relation to the possession of online child abuse material.

Over the three phases of Operation Ketch this year, gardaí have identified more than 100 suspects and seized possibly millions of images.

Hotline.ie manager Ana Niculescu said that it received and processed more reports in 2017 than ever before, and identified 44% more child abuse content than in 2016, with the images and videos found having increased in their severity.

The percentage of images and videos showing children aged between 0 and 12 rose from 71% in 2016 to 79% last year. Of these, 6% are aged 0 to 3 years of age.

The report said almost half of the videos assessed appear to be self-generated by the child.

We know it is difficult for most people to conceptualise that adults may have sexual interest in children, that child sexual abuse may be happening in the family context, or the very nature and gravity of self-generated child sexual abuse imagery which, unfortunately, is no longer a trend but an established reality,” said Ms Niculescu.

In a recent assessment, the EU police agency Europol said the increase in CSAI is in part due to a rise in self-generated material.

It said there is a “lack of awareness of both children and their parents” about it, saying that the images are often initially produced and shared voluntarily between peers, but can be redistributed and end up in the possession of online child sex offenders. In some cases, this can result in extortion.

The Hotline.ie report said live video streaming of CSAI is “likely to grow” in the coming years. It said there is a year-on-year rise in ‘disguised’ websites, which are solely dedicated to CSAI and in most cases contain hundreds of images and videos.

The report said that none of the cases were traced to the Republic — the first time in eight years.

In a statement, the ISPCC said: “The creation, use, possession or distribution of any child sexual abuse imagery is child abuse and is a matter of significant concern for the ISPCC.”

It is urging people who accidentally come across it to report it to Hotline.ie.

The statement said: “An Garda Síochána’s ongoing Operation Ketch clearly highlights this is an area of significant concern. It is essential that the appropriate resources are put in place, including appropriate regulation and the necessary Garda resources to keep children safe online.”

Canadian pedophile booted from Nepal now in Ontario?

An elderly Canadian pedophile booted out of Nepal after serving half his sentence for molesting a young boy may now be prowling the streets of Ontario.

Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh, 75, was convicted in March 2015 after being arrested in December, 2014 in the Asian nation. He had been sentenced to seven years.

MacIntosh has been a frequent flier in the court system for sexually abusing boys.

His alleged victims in Atlantic Canada remain bitter about the soft treatment MacIntosh has received.

Bob Martin — who says MacIntosh abused him when he was a boy — said the government has done little for his alleged Canadian victims. “They certainly have not helped the victims in this case,” Martin said.

“Seventeen years of delays, passport errors, slack original Crown prosecutor … I hope they do not think that he is unable to offend again because he had done just that in Kathmandu in 2014 and was convicted in February 2015, so he is capable of those crimes for sure back home in Canada.”

Martin added that the victims of MacIntosh were the last to be informed of his whereabouts.

CTV News reports that the perverted pensioner was released because of his age and failing health. It isn’t known whether he will serve the rest of his sentence in Canada.

Global Affairs would not confirm if MacIntosh had been released but added they were aware a Canadian had been sprung from a Nepalese prison.

A source told CTV that MacIntosh is likely in Ontario and will likely go straight to a hospital because of health concerns.

MacIntosh was extradited from India in 2007 to face justice for 17 counts of sexually abusing four boys in the 1970s. The first charge was laid against him in 1995.

What followed was a comedy of errors. The supreme court overturned the convictions because it took too long to put the old pedo in court.

He was finally arrested in a Nepal hotel room in 2014 on charges of luring a boy to his room for sex in exchange for cash. The child — an amputee — was also promised a new prosthetic arm.

Cops determined MacIntosh targeted other street children during his sick visit.

UN deputy chief warns of severity of
child sexual abuse, exploitation
Source: Xinhua|

UNITED NATIONS -- UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed on Wednesday warned of "alarmingly common" child sexual abuse and exploitation globally.

Speaking at the event of "Shedding Light on Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation," Mohammed said "every day, across all countries and levels of society, millions of girls and boys face the alarmingly common childhood experience of sexual abuse and exploitation, scarring them for life."

She went on to say that globally, at least 120 million girls under the age of 20 -- about 1 in 10 -- have been forced to engage in sex or perform other sexual acts.

That is a very conservative estimate and woefully inadequate. The best estimates for girls is between one in three, and one in five. In India, more than half of all children are believed to have been sexually abused, and even that is conservative. Many countries are just beginning to emerge from the stigma of child sex abuse, so the reality of the size of the problem has yet to be determined.

"Millions more, including millions of boys, never tell anyone," she added.

She stressed that "preventing violence and exploitation of children is everyone's business, everywhere, at all times. We must address this challenge and break the silence."

She also pointed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a UN milestone vision adopted by member states in 2015, which includes a goal to end violence against children by 2030.

An empty goal! The only possible way of accomplishing that would be to annihilate all life on earth, or the return of Jesus Christ. Small steps by many countries have failed to even slow down the growth of this evil. Social media is the paedophile's best friend.

In this regard, she said "all over the world, governments are updating their laws and policies to more effectively criminalize child sexual abuse and exploitation" in efforts towards the goal.

Closing her speech, she called for zero tolerance to violence and exploitation of children, investment of sufficient resources to make the 2030 Agenda goal a reality, and commitment by all to take actions.

Here's why paedophile caught with child sex doll
walked free from court
By Neil Docking, Crown Court Reporter

A paedophile caught with a child sex doll and a stash of indecent images today walked free from court.

Michael Gallagher said he bought the disturbing 3ft 2in silicon model - sporting "childlike" features save for adult-sized breasts - for £590 on eBay.

But the 60-year-old pervert claimed he thought he was getting an adult version and only chose a small figure because they were cheaper.

And Liverpool Crown Court heard it is not against the law to possess child sex dolls in the UK - despite the fact it is illegal to import them.

Officers first caught Gallagher with 625 indecent photos on a Dell tower computer in March 2015, but he was spared jail in July 2016. The dad-of-two was instead handed a three-year community order and hit with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for five years.

The SHPO meant Gallagher was not allowed to use the internet unless he recorded and disclosed all of his browsing history.

Merseyside Police paid a routine visit to check his laptop at his home at East Float Quay in Dock Road, Birkenhead on October 5 last year.

An officer discovered he had looked at an advert for a sex doll, described as a "silicon adult" model, and asked whether he had bought it.

Neil Bisarya, prosecuting, said Gallagher confirmed he had and took him to his bedroom to see the doll, which was "the size of a child".

Pictures of the model, which the detective described as "a childlike sex doll" because of its "height and nature", were shown in court.

The officer said: "It is small basically, the hands are small, the feet are small, the size of the doll itself is child size. Obviously with the breasts it's a different matter."

John Ballam, defending, asked Gallagher why he bought the doll, to which he replied: "To engage in sex with it."

Gallagher said he bought it thinking it was an adult doll and chose one a metre high because "they're not cheap". He said: "If you go up [in height] then you're talking double the money. It's about £1,200 for a 5ft 8in version."

Police seized Gallagher's Asus laptop, which he bought in June 2016, and forensic examination unearthed a sickening stash. He admitted downloading and possessing 45 indecent images - some of children as young as four - plus 16 prohibited pictures.

The since-deleted collection included one Category A - the worst category - one Category B and 43 Category C indecent photos.

But he pleaded guilty on the basis he inadvertently transferred them to his laptop from a memory stick in December 2015 - before his last sentence.

And while he admitted breaching his SHPO by using Incognito mode on Google Chrome, he said this was only for looking at transgender websites.

These claims were rejected by prosecutors and today a Newton Hearing - a form of mini-trial to establish disputed facts - had to be held.

Gallagher said the memory stick - mostly containing music - was in his car when police first raided his home and he had forgotten about it. He said he accidentally transferred the images with some MP3s months later and when he realised he immediately deleted them.

Gallagher said he used Incognito out of "embarrassment", so his two adults sons would not discover he was "into the transgender scene". He said "I made a blatant mistake there - an error through foolish stupidity" and denied using this browsing mode to look at child sex abuse.

A police expert said he could not date the images or say how they came to be on his hard drive, but evidence suggested it was not via Incognito browsing. Mr Bisarya conceded he was therefore unable to challenge Gallagher's explanation and had to accept his basis of plea.

Judge Gary Woodhall said "whatever suspicions" he might have about Gallagher's evidence, he was bound to sentence him on the accepted basis. He said it was a "technical breach" and had Gallagher been sentenced for the pictures in 2016, it probably would not have affected his sentence.

Judge Woodhall handed him a new 12-month community order, with a three-month home curfew, between 7pm and 6am daily. He told Gallagher to sign on the Sex Offenders Register and to comply with a new Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.

Former UK soldier, cop, groped child sex abuse victim
as they drove around
In the courtroom
By Martin Naylor

A man who says he was sexually assaulted by a former soldier told a court he was groped as they travelled in his car.

Norman Sully, 84, of John F Kennedy Gardens, Chaddesden is on trial at Derby Crown Court having been charged with 11 counts of sexual assault against five underage boys.

Giving evidence, Sully's first alleged victim told the jury how the now 84-year-old first abused him at Bracken House Children’s Home, in Thames Street, Bulwell. He said it began in Sully’s room and then later in his car, where the former Derbyshire Police officer would “grope” him, reports Derbyshire Live.

The identities of the alleged victims are protected by law and Sully is facing what is called a “trial of fact”. This means the jury are not being asked to find Sully either guilty or not guilty but instead to determine whether or not he carried out the acts he is alleged to have done.

This is because Judge Smith has found him unfit to face trial due to the defendant’s diagnosis of dementia.

In a video interview the man said: "I was sexually abused on a regular basis. The first time was in the room where he lived at the home. He was lying on the bed and I was kneeling next to it. We were like hugging and he had one arm around me and the other was touching me down there.

“It happened at least six times to me. I was young but I knew it was wrong.”

The former Elmhurst children's home, Derby, pictured in 2006. (Image: Derbyshire Live)

The man said after the first time the abuse began to happen when Sully drove the pair of them around Nottingham. He said: “I was taken out in his car and we would drive around Radford. We would park in the same pub car park and things would happen there. The pub is closed down now. I think it was on the corner of Hartley Road.

“The same thing happened. It all seemed pretty normal, everything was just, I don’t know, acceptable, it was just an acceptable thing to do. He said to me ‘do you want to go out in the car’ and I just said yes because I was a kid.

“It was always the same. We would drive around and he would have a little grope. You would pull up at the traffic lights and one hand would be on the gear stick and the other was where it shouldn’t have been.

“He also took my hand and put it on him. It happened for weeks or months and the reason it stopped is because one of the other kids in the home saw what was going on and that’s when it stopped.

“That’s when the sexual abuse stopped.”

In his video interview the alleged victim was asked if he had ever reported the alleged abuse to the police. He replied: “No because I have got no proof, it’s all hearsay.”

He was asked: “Did you ever hear about it happening to any other children there?” He said: “No, never.”

The trial continues.
