Another One Gone At CNN: Gollust Announces Her Resignation

From Network

February 16, 2022

OPINION: This article may contain commentary which reflects the author's opinion.

Not to mention commentary which reflects this blog editor's opinion.

It has been around two weeks since former CNN head Jeff Zucker resigned from his position at the network, citing an inappropriate relationship with a co-worker, and now that co-worker has resigned.

Allison Gollust, the former lieutenant to Zucker, resigned after an investigation “into issues associated with” Chris Cuomo, a former CNN anchor, and his brother Andrew, the former governor of New York, a memo sent to staffers by WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar said, CNN reported.

“Based on interviews of more than 40 individuals and a review of over 100,000 texts and emails, the investigation found violations of Company policies, including CNN’s News Standards and Practices, by Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and Chris Cuomo,” he said to staffers.

“We have the highest standards of journalistic integrity at CNN, and those rules must apply to everyone equally,” he said. “Given the information provided to me in the investigation, I strongly believe we have taken the right actions and the right decisions have been made.”

So, is this an admission that with Cuomo, Zucker and Gollust the highest standards of journalistic integrity were not met?

Gollust issued a statement announcing her departure from the company on Tuesday.

“WarnerMedia’s statement tonight is an attempt to retaliate against me and change the media narrative in the wake of their disastrous handling of the last two weeks,” she said. “It is deeply disappointing that after spending the past nine years defending and upholding CNN’s highest standards of journalistic integrity, I would be treated this way as I leave. But I do so with my head held high, knowing that I gave my heart and soul to working with the finest journalists in the world.”

There's that phrase again. Apparently, Gollust has over-estimated her standards.

Reports have indicated that Chris Cuomo is getting set for a major lawsuit against the network.

After his former boss Jeff Zucker exited the network, sources say that Cuomo wants a settlement of around $60 million, The New York Post reported.

Multiple sources tell Page Six that Cuomo — who was fired in December for helping his brother, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, fend off sexual harassment allegations — is ready to dig his heels in by claiming that Zucker not only knew about his dealings with the governor but that the network boss had his own inappropriate dealings with Andrew.

And he is prepared to demand not the $18 million left on his contract, but as much as $60 million.

“He wants Megyn Kelly money,” sources said to The Post.

“Chris insists he never did anything for his brother Andrew that Zucker didn’t know about,” a source said.

“His camp believes Zucker wasn’t fired for an inappropriate relationship with Allison Gollust. Everybody knew about that and nobody cared.

“What he believes happened is WarnerMedia found something in their investigation into Chris, perhaps internal memos or documents which revealed more about Zucker’s involvement with Andrew Cuomo. Gollust was just a convenient excuse,” they said.

That's been my theory ever since Zucker stepped down.

“Chris intends to fight for every dollar on his contract, and loss of income from the 15 to 20 years left in his career, had Zucker not orchestrated a ‘f–k-job’ on him. He could ask for as much as $80 million but CNN isn’t going to pay that. But there’s an argument he could ask for as much as $60 million,” the source said.

Another source said that “Chris is telling people in the Hamptons he was wrongly fired, humiliated, his career has been ruined, and he wants Megyn Kelly money.”

For reference, Kelly got $69 million from NBC after she was fired in 2019 when she defended blackface on her show.

Sources have said that Zucker “coached Andrew Cuomo [on] what to say in his press conferences, particularly how to hit back at President Donald Trump. He advised him when, and where, and what to say. He chastised Andrew if he appeared on other networks.

“When this all finally comes out, it will put an end to the big cry fest going on at CNN over Zucker’s ousting,” they said.

WarnerMedia chief executive Jason Kilar met with CNN staff in DC on Monday the idea of a severance package for Cuomo was talked about and staff did not appear to be on board.

Jake Tapper, the host of the CNN show “The Lead” referred to Cuomo as a “terrorist” who wants to attack the network.

“How do we get past this perception that this is the bad guy winning?” New York Times reporter Michael M. Grynbaum reported.

You can't! They're all bad guys.

“Did you think about what message it sends to the journalists in the company and also to the larger public that someone can be found to break with those journalistic standards and then get paid handsomely for it?” CNN host Don Lemon said, the Wall Street Journal reported.

It's a sad commentary considering how journalistic standards have fallen so far in recent decades.

Dallas Cowboys paid $2.4MN to settle cheerleader allegations – report

NFL team the Dallas Cowboys reached a confidential $2.4 million settlement with four cheerleaders who accused a senior team executive of voyeurism including recording them while in their dressing rooms, according to a report.

The four members of the cheerleading squad were each paid $399,523.27, according to ESPN, which says that the rest of the money was used to pay associated legal costs after they made allegations that former senior vice president for public relations and communications Richard Dalrymple recorded them with his cell phone while they were in a state of undress.

Dalrymple retired from the Cowboys after 32 years of service earlier this month.

The 2015 complaint alleged that Dalrymple gained entry to their locker room using a security key card and was subsequently discovered by the women attempting to record them with his iPhone.

An internal investigation conducted by the team found no firm evidence of any impropriety on Dalrymple's behalf, according to the outlet – but the team hierarchy allegedly saw fit to issue him with a written warning.

Dalrymple vigorously denied the allegations against him in a statement. "People who know me – co-workers, the media and colleagues – know who I am and what I'm about," Dalrymple said.

"I understand the very serious nature of these claims and do not take them lightly. The accusations are, however, false. One was accidental and the other simply did not happen. Everything that was alleged was thoroughly investigated years ago, and I co-operated fully."

Figures within the Cowboys also indicated to the report that no wrongdoing was found in their investigation.

"If any wrongdoing had been found, Rich would have been terminated immediately," said Jim Wilkinson, a communications expert employed by the team.

"Everyone involved felt just terrible about this unfortunate incident."

Even though no wrongdoing had been found!? Weird! $2.4m is a lot of money to pay for 'no wrongdoing'!

The report also suggested that Dalrymple's retirement came around the same time as he became aware of various reporters' interest in the matter – although Dalrymple said that this timing was merely coincidental.

The account also quotes a former Cowboys cheerleader who was not involved in the incident as saying that the alleged voyeurism was common knowledge amongst the cheerleading squad.

It also details how the team allegedly conducted a forensic analysis of Dalrymple's work phone but found no evidence of photographs being taken.

Dalrymple is said to have denied owning a personal cell phone and told investigators that he did enter the locker room, mistakenly thinking it was empty while wanting to use the bathroom.

"It was a 'he said, she said' – and the team chose to believe Dalrymple's side of things," ESPN quoted an unnamed source as saying. "But four women swore this happened."

None of the four women who made the reported complaint are currently employed by the team.

I'll bet! But they have $400,000 dollars.

Prince Andrew settles sex abuse lawsuit

The financial terms of the settlement between the British royal and his accuser

Virginia Giuffre have not been revealed

Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, has reached a settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who had accused the senior British royal of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager, according to a court filing in New York on Tuesday.

The 61-year-old Duke of York agreed to pay a confidential financial sum to Giuffre, both parties announced in a joint statement attached to the court document. Andrew will also make a "substantial donation" to a charity that supports "victims' rights."

The settlement comes weeks before Prince Andrew was set to be required to participate in a deposition under oath, during which he would have been questioned by Giuffre's lawyers about her accusations. The joint statement from Prince Andrew and Giuffre reportedly says that the British royal does not admit to any of the accusations against him.

The court documents also show the prince claiming that he "regrets his association" with convicted billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. "Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre's character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks," the linked statement said, adding that the Briton "regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others."

“He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims,” the filing adds.

Andrew’s legal team had tried to get the lawsuit thrown out on a technicality by claiming a previous deal between Giuffre and Epstein meant that she was barred from pursuing a case against the royal. However, US District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan rejected this, allowing the case to proceed to trial. Following the court's refusal to dismiss the suit, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Andrew had returned his "military affiliations and royal patronages" to Queen Elizabeth and would "continue not to undertake any public duties."

It's rumoured that the Queen, herself, will pay Andrew's settlement. I wonder if that's how he got to be the way he is?

Prince Andrew was ‘sex pest’, masseuse claims

British royal badgered his massage therapist during nude sessions, report claims

A massage therapist who worked for Prince Andrew has told a British tabloid that the disgraced royal was a “constant sex pest,” who asked inappropriate questions about her sex life and “overstepped the line.” Andrew is facing accusations far more serious than being “creepy,” however.

In an article printed on Friday, massage therapist Emma Gruenbaum told The Sun that working for the Duke of York “always felt a bit sleazy and a bit odd really.” Reportedly hired by Andrew in 2005, she told The Sun that she massaged the prince six times and thought from the outset that he would prove a difficult client.

Andrew allegedly insisted on the massage taking place in his bedroom, despite Gruenbaum stating that this made her uncomfortable. When she noticed that the table was too high, she dropped to the floor to lower it, at which point she said Andrew allegedly complimented her “nice a***,” and asked if she would “take it up the a***.”

“And I went, ‘None of your f***ing business.’ And he just looked at me in sort of a dead stare and said, ‘You can’t talk to me like that,’” she recounted.

Gruenbaum said that Andrew would always be uncovered save for a towel, would frequently crack crude jokes and ask when she had last had sex, and after massage sessions would “try to hug me without fail.” Andrew would allegedly ask her to stay behind to watch a movie or have a cup of tea, offers she said she refused.

The masseuse also said that she would tell Andrew to “shut up” any time he said something inappropriate, and told The Sun that she felt the royal enjoyed being chastized by her. “He was a pest. But it was always in a ‘matron and schoolboy’ way,” she explained.

Eventually, she said that she stopped getting calls to arrange massage appointments with the royal. “His advances weren’t working and I think that his patience ran out,” she said.

Gruenbaum said that she was inspired to tell her story after she heard that Andrew accused Virginia Giuffre of suffering from “false memories” of her alleged abuse at the hands of the prince. "I don’t want to sit by and not speak out about the way he was towards me as he calls Virginia delusional,” she said.

Giuffre is currently suing Andrew in New York for sexual assault, claiming that she was trafficked to the royal by notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on several occasions in the early 2000s. Ahead of the trial, Buckingham Palace stripped Andrew of his honorary military titles and patronages. He denies Giuffre’s accusations.

Snoop Dogg faces sexual assault accusations

American rapper Snoop Dogg was accused of sexual assault and battery in a civil lawsuit filed on Wednesday.

A woman who identified herself as Jane Doe and described as a model, actress, dancer and host who has worked with Calvin Broadus, aka Snoop Dogg, alleged the rapper assaulted her after she attended his concert on May 29, 2013, as revealed by documents viewed by music outlet Pitchfork.

According to the woman’s lawsuit filed in the Central District of California, after the concert, she was taken by Snoop Dogg’s associate Bishop Don ‘Magic’ Juan to his home against her will and assaulted by him the following morning.

The next day, as alleged by the woman, the associate took Doe to Snoop Dogg’s studio, where the rapper cornered her in a bathroom she was using and forced her into oral sex.

“Plaintiff found herself thinking about her job security if she displeased Defendant Snoop Dogg… Plaintiff felt pressured by defendant Snoop Dogg due to his dominance, and his position of power over her, including his ability to hire and fire her and ensure that she would never be hired in his industry again,” the lawsuit claimed, as cited by Reuters.

Snoop Dogg’s representatives have not officially responded to the claims, but the artist has denied the claims, according to TMZ.

The accusations were made a few days before the rapper is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday. The lawsuit was filed the same day Snoop Dogg acquired the legendary hip-hop label Death Row Records, and right before the release of his new album, ‘BODR (Bacc On Death Row)’.

Tara Reade - America's demonization project against me is complete

I’ve been vilified, hounded and denounced for nearly three years since making my sexual assault accusation against Joe Biden. But will I shut up? Hell, no

In the cancel culture era in the United States, the irony of displaying political correctness while vilifying someone is prominent. Cancel culture is devouring itself. Because I came forward about an elite politician three years ago, who now happens to be the president of the United States, I have been called a liar, whore, slut, accused of treason, and worse. My private parts and what I wore under my clothes when assaulted have been discussed publicly and my private life combed through by major media outlets.

These ‘journalists’ kept looking under my bed for Russians and, when they found none, they made it up. I have been called a traitor because I have spoken positively about Russia. Someone sent me a picture of a mass grave, saying I should be in it. Others asked when I would commit suicide. Some taunted me, saying they would come kill my pets or me. Just words, only words (some too vile to repeat here), except when the attacks came into my real life and destroyed it, my work, my reputation, my security – then those words became like daggers.

The celebrities and prominent journalists going after me don’t cease in their campaign against me, so incensed are they that I refuse to be silent. Like Edward Dovere, a senior CNN reporter, who on an almost monthly basis sends out tweets like these:

Death threats, ugly emails, and threatening emails follow. Why is a leading CNN reporter allowed to come after a US citizen for being pro-peace? And for telling the truth?

No one at his organization will take action against him, and no establishment politician will denounce him, because this is how it works. America’s demonization of me is complete. They want to silence me, humiliate me and vilify me, so that no one will believe my words about what Joe Biden did to me.

This villainization by the media and social media has happened to many others too, of course – female sexual assault victims like Rose McGowan and Juanita Broaddrick. But it also happens to those who don’t toe the correct line, or who expose America’s crimes, like Joe Rogan and Julian Assange. The list of the canceled in today’s America is becoming vast.

There are real-world consequences that flow from these online witch burnings. One dark night in the late spring of 2020, after work, I was driving down a remote, country road in California.  An SUV started to tailgate me, then began to push my car from behind. I slowed down and took evasive action, thinking it was someone with road rage.

My phone was dead. I swore at myself for not having charged it. The SUV sped around me with bright headlights on and continued. A few minutes later, it was back, only this time, it was in my lane – the wrong lane – speeding towards me. Trying not to panic, I went to the edge of my lane, but there was a steep ravine off the roadside, so I moved into the oncoming lane. The car moved with me, so I swerved back, and it followed my movement again with precision. In the last seconds before we smashed head-on, it swept around me so close that, with my window open, I could see the vehicles’ mirrors almost clash. It sped off. I went to a place to pull over and gathered myself.

Soon afterwards, I received an email threatening me. The email address was fake and went to an expired website. I reported it to the authorities to no avail. To this day, I do not know if the two events were connected or not. Was this a targeted attempt to harm me by some attacker, or a chance encounter with a psycho stranger? On the heels of this came more threats on my life via phone and social media, the hacking of my email, and threats against my daughter. I moved out of state.

I do not share all this to garner sympathy, as I need none. I have had an adventurous life that included years in acting and modeling from the age of 16. In my political life, I enjoyed many interesting situations, despite my negative experiences with Biden. My point is that, before this demonization campaign, I had already survived a great deal. I was beaten and almost strangled to death by my ex, and afterwards became an advocate for others.

I trained with the Seattle police for victim support and became certified as a trainer with US Homeland Security for domestic violence prevention, and, later, as an expert witness.  I did dangerous work that put me in harm’s way. I learned to navigate safety planning. I learned how to disappear. I say this to emphasize that I had the training and skills to deal with difficult, dangerous situations like the ones I am now subjected to. Now, imagine the poor survivor who does not have these skills or my resilience?

Even I, however, underestimated the viciousness of the media cycle. When all the vitriol came at me, I knew these were all tactics to get my silence about what Joe Biden did to me when I worked as his Senate staffer. I have no doubt that the sustained attacks were fuelled by his resources and connections. I have been up against a vicious political machine. However, I stand on the strong shoulders of those brave women who came before me, like Rose McGowan and Juanita Broaddrick.

I knew I had to create a psychological structure that would protect me so I could continue speaking the truth unfettered by the noise around me. Several people warned me this would all happen after I came forward. Rose McGowan, Anita Hill, Chris Wallace, and Megyn Kelly, to name just a few, warned me about the crazies and coordinated attacks that hound people at the center of a public discussion, especially one so politically fueled.

Rose has gone through all of what I experienced and worse. Slowly, I built a support system around me that helped me cope with the journey. All the while, I knew I was politically inconvenient and expendable. I am just a normal, average citizen without access to expensive resources, but I have learned to face my fears and push past them. The demonization script employed against me only worked to a point, and I pushed back.

The American landscape has become quite rough for any whistleblower or anyone with a dissenting opinion from the elites. As both parties weaponize sexual misconduct claims for their own use, it is imperative to continue to call out the hypocrisy of the American ruling class.

For me, as a young Senate staffer, democracy died when a man I respected, who had power over me, would not accept no for an answer and took my body without my consent. And then destroyed my career because he could. In that moment, a determination ignited in me to continue fighting for the truth and the rights of women – the war is not nearly over.

Josh Duggar asks for acquittal in child sex abuse image trial

Josh Duggar's defense team has filed a motion for acquittal or a new trial.

During his pre-trial hearing, Department of Homeland Security Special Agent Gerald Faulkner, who has worked on more than 1,000 child exploitation cases in the last 11 years, testified that materials found on a computer belonging to Duggar included files that were the “top five worst I’ve ever had to examine” and included child sex abuse images and videos of minors as young as 18 months.

He faces up to 20 years in prison for each of the two counts of which he was convicted. Duggar’s sentence has not yet been announced.

Former Vancouver Canucks forward Jake Virtanen has been charged with sexual assault.

Vancouver police say the BC Prosecution Service approved the count against the 25-year-old, who currently plays in Russia, in connection with an incident that’s said to have happened in September 2017.

Virtanen’s first court appearance on this charge is set for Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. in Vancouver Provincial Court.

“Crown is in contact with his lawyer, so I presume that they will have conversations surrounding how to compel him to court or what the best way would be to compel him to court,” said Cst. Tania Visintin Thursday.

In May 2021, the VPD confirmed it was looking into sexual misconduct allegations against the hockey player after claims surfaced on social media. In posts, a woman claimed Virtanen sexually assaulted her in a Vancouver hotel when she was 18, despite her pleading for him to stop.

Shortly after accusations emerged, the Canucks placed Virtanen on leave as an independent investigation was conducted.

A civil suit was filed in Kelowna against him that same month, to which he responded on June 1 saying what happened between him and the woman was consensual.

In his response, Virtanen denied the woman “expressed any indication, verbal or physical, that she did not want to engage in physical activity.” He asked for the lawsuit to be dismissed and for the court to award him special costs, due to the nature of the allegations.

In August 2021, Virtanen’s agent questioned the complainant’s decision to pursue a civil suit over seeking civil charges, saying the way the accusation unfolded was “unusual and troubling.”

Visintin says the VPD’s investigation has concluded. There had been some confusion initially as to where exactly the assault was said to have taken place, with court documents citing a West Vancouver hotel as the location.

Visintin confirms the VPD’s probe was the only one before the courts.

“This charge is for an incident that happened in Vancouver on Sept. 26, 2017, and that was led by Vancouver police,” she said.

Vancouver police say Virtanen is not currently in custody.

No further details have been provided.

Prince Andrew wants disgraced actor to testify at trial - media

The royal reportedly wants Kevin Spacey to admit that he invited

convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell to Buckingham Palace

Prince Andrew is allegedly seeking the assistance of actor and accused sex predator Kevin Spacey in clearing his name, the Sun reported, citing sources.

The Duke of York’s legal team allegedly wants the actor to tell a jury that recently-convicted sex offender and Jeffrey Epstein “madam” Ghislaine Maxwell was Spacey’s guest - not the prince’s - during a 2002 tour of Buckingham Palace.

Photos have circulated of Maxwell and Spacey in the palace, and the source told the Sun that while the prince had invited the actor, it was Spacey who had invited Maxwell.

The tour was apparently arranged for former US president Bill Clinton - a figure who has also been linked to the deceased Epstein, and who was also a friend of Spacey.

The prince reportedly planned to ask for Spacey’s help as he prepares to battle the sex assault lawsuit filed against him by Epstein’s “sex slave” Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Spacey was fired from a very successful TV series after reports of him abusing boys and young men. Two of his accusers died before any lawsuits or charges were processed.

Despite the existence of a now-infamous photograph where the Duke of York and Roberts are pictured together with Maxwell, the prince has claimed he never met the young woman.

Roberts has claimed she was trafficked to the prince by Epstein and forced to have sex with him three times when she was 17. She is seeking unspecified damages, thought to be millions of pounds, on charges of rape, sexual assault and battery.

The Duke of York earlier this week demanded a “trial by jury” regarding the accusations of rape and sexual assault Roberts leveled against him. Responding officially to his accuser’s claims five months ago, he rejected 41 accusations of wrongdoing - while admitting 40 times that he “lack[ed] sufficient information to admit or deny” other claims.

One of the claims he apparently denied was that he and Maxwell were close friends. The two were photographed together multiple times dating back to the 1980s.

Earlier this month, former head of Prince Andrew’s security, Paul Page, told an ITV documentary that Maxwell was a regular guest at the Buckingham Palace

He stated that a colleague of his “remembered her coming in four times in one day” at one point.

What a sad, sad case! Good grief!

Man guilty of stalking tennis star Raducanu

A 35-year-old man has been found guilty in a UK court of stalking teenage tennis ace Emma Raducanu

James D. Morgan/Getty Images

Ex-Amazon delivery driver Amrit Magar will be sentenced at a later date for a stalking campaign of US Open winner, 19-year-old Brit Emma Raducanu, after being found guilty at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Raducanu, ranked 18th in the world, told police that she remains nervous to leave her house after being inundated with unwanted notes and gifts from the 35-year-old Magar, who is married.

The court heard that Magar became besotted with Raducanu after watching her compete on television while he was unemployed, and later discovered her home address by asking locals in the area of London she lives with her parents.

He left the tennis star a series of notes, with one saying that she "deserved love" and another providing an illustration of the 23 miles he claims he walked from his home in north London to her residence.

The court was also told that in early December Magar decorated a tree on the Raducanu property with Christmas ornaments and decorations, as well as stealing a tennis shoe from the garden thinking it was Raducanu's - but instead it belonged to her father.

When he was later arrested, Magar was carrying the shoe in a bag and told officers that it was a "memento".

In a victim impact statement which was read to court, Raducanu detailed exactly how the ordeal has affected her and that it has left her fearful of leaving her house alone.

"Since all this has happened, I have felt creeped out. I feel very apprehensive if I go out, especially if I am on my own," she detailed to officers.

"Because of this I feel like my freedom has been taken away from me. I am constantly looking over my shoulder. I feel on edge and worried this could happen again. I don't feel safe in my own home which is where I should feel safest.

"I want to move to a new house with better security because I am worried he might come back as he knows where my home is."

Speaking to the court on Friday, Magar detailed the "shame" he says he feels for having put the teenage star through such an ordeal - but District Judge Sushil Kumar refuted suggestions that he wasn't aware that what he was doing was illegal, saying: "His inability to explain how he did not think this was harassment is incapable of belief."

Magar is expected to be sentenced in February and was released on bail under strict instruction to not contact Raducanu or her family or to visit the street on which they live.

Didn't kill himself the first time: Did Epstein really attempt suicide?

Billionaire pedophile prison papers leave many questions unanswered

US Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) documents released to RT investigative unit The Detail pose serious questions about Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged attempt to kill himself while incarcerated in the Metropolitan Correctional Center. The files, released in response to a Freedom of Information request, cast doubt on this key component of the official narrative surrounding his ever-mysterious alleged suicide – namely, did it even happen?

According to the established timeline of events, Epstein was found injured and semi-conscious on the floor of his cell in the early hours of July 23, 2019, 17 days after his imprisonment on charges of child sex trafficking, with marks of an unspecified nature around his neck. Claiming to remember nothing about what happened, his cellmate, former NYPD officer Nicholas Tartaglione – who has coincidentally shared the same legal representation as Epstein’s partner and ‘madam’ Ghislaine Maxwell – likewise pleaded ignorance.

The files show that within minutes of the alleged incident, attempted suicide by “hanging/asphyxiation” was officially logged, although sections of the report describing what happened are totally redacted, as is the name of the individual who authored it. In a report written by the doctor who examined Epstein around five hours later, Epstein’s own account of how he sustained the injuries is, too, entirely blanked out.

The following day, Epstein was taken off suicide watch and charged with violating prison code 228, “tattooing or self-mutilation.” He was subject to a psychological assessment, with one official suggesting, “most likely he will be found competent because he is not mentally ill,” while another enquired as to whether or not Epstein was “mentally capable of proceeding with the disciplinary process.” Oddly, in response, an unnamed staffer wrote, “I would feel really uncomfortable doing this.”

Several copies of the incident report are reproduced in the files, but it wasn’t until a week later, on July 30, that the document was amended to include “self-mutilation” as the cause of suicide attempt, specifying “lacerations”. But the doctor’s report from just hours after the incident doesn’t mention lacerations at all – in fact it explicitly states none were found – begging the question of why this was written into the official record days later.

Pending investigation for that breach, Epstein was placed in disciplinary confinement away from the “general population,” and refused to be returned there. Meanwhile, officials probed “appropriate candidates” for a new cellmate.

A thorough review was clearly conducted, with one memo noting that other inmates in the Secure Housing Unit were deemed “not appropriate to be housed with Mr. Epstein,” for reasons unstated, although one “notable” prisoner “with a history of sex offenses” was explicitly ruled out “due to his threatening nature.”

After the psychological evaluation found him competent to take part in the disciplinary process, the files record the prison’s brief investigation into the “self-mutilation” charge, on July 30.

A resultant report noted that, “no witnesses [were] requested” and “inmate Epstein had a poor attitude,” refusing to say anything. Despite this, the investigator concluded “the report to be accurate as written and the charge warranted.” The matter was kicked upstairs for “further disposition,” but it appears Epstein died before a final decision on his supposed infraction was taken.

Even more curiously, a classified internal BOP memo notes that the incident report related to self-mutilation was “expunged” – in other words stricken from the record, as if it never happened – five days after Epstein’s death. An official added that it was “unclear why it had been expunged and whether Mr. Epstein knew this.”

This may account for why the entire bizarre episode, in which prison authorities sought to punish the billionaire sex offender for the crime of trying to take his own life, has never hitherto been mentioned by the mainstream media.

Complicating the confused picture even further, on August 14, 2019, four days after his death, the New York Post published a sensational exclusive, claiming that Epstein informed his lawyers Tartaglione “roughed him up,” and this was not only the reason he was discovered out cold in his cell, but why he was removed from suicide watch.

Tartaglione’s lawyer, Bruce Barket, has vigorously disputed this account, suggesting the story was planted in the Post by a prison guard “angry at [Epstein] for complaining at the deplorable conditions at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.” Moreover, Barket records that Epstein and Tartaglione “regularly walked from their cell to the visiting area together,” as their lawyers were on the “same schedule,” and the pair “got along real well.”

“I’d be surprised if they later claimed Nick attacked him, because that’s not what we were told all along,” Barket has declared.

The records released to The Detail make it abundantly clear that Epstein did indeed complain frequently to prison authorities. However, his grievances were fairly routine – a lack of toilet paper, the toilet flushing continuously for 45 minutes, his cellmate talking too much, especially at night. There isn’t the slightest indication he ever felt threatened or in danger, either from inmates or guards.

This may in part result from him being placed for much of his stay with the hulking Tartaglione. A veritable man mountain, he faces the death penalty for allegedly committing a quadruple homicide in furtherance of a conspiracy to sell cocaine – one victim was strangled with a zip tie. He was chosen to bunk with Epstein due to cooperating with authorities in his case, and having much to lose if he committed an infraction of any kind, let alone attacked his cellmate.

Such pally protection may moreover to some degree account for why, in several psychological assessments at the prison in the wake of his apparent suicide attempt, Epstein was a picture of optimism and stability.

One noted the subject was “alert … polite, calm, and cooperative in demeanor,” and explicitly denied “recent and current suicidal ideation, planning, and intent.” He was said to be “future-oriented,” and “expressed a commitment to life and safety, agreeing to contact staff immediately should he experience suicidal ideation or psychological distress.”

“He exhibited a neutral affect with appropriate range. Eye contact and hygiene were appropriate … His thoughts were organized and coherent, with no loosening of associations or tangential, circumstantial, or irrelevant content,” a prison-designated psychologist wrote. “There was no evidence of perceptual disturbance, delusional ideation, or a formal thought disorder. He did not engage in any bizarre or inappropriate behavior.”

Another appraisal spelled out “protective factors” determined from conversations with Epstein, noting he “he denied current suicidal or self-harm thoughts” or “feeling hopeless.”

“He denied fearing for his safety … He stated he lives for and plans to finish this case and to go back to his normal life … His friends and lawyers are emotionally supportive … He is Jewish [and] suicide is against the religion. Overall, his current protective factors override his risk factors for suicidality,” they remarked. “Suicide watch is not warranted at this time.”

Despite this, Epstein was briefly placed on suicide watch, and the documents show detailed accounts were filed every 15 minutes by guards as to his activities – “inmate Epstein is sleeping; inmate Epstein is lying quietly in bed; inmate Epstein is pacing around in his cell,” etcetera. This intensive surveillance was downgraded on July 24, 2019, to the lesser “psychological observation.”

Six days later, Tartaglione was replaced by Efrain Reyes, who was assisting the government in a drug distribution conspiracy case, although on August 9, he too was removed, leaving Epstein alone – in breach of internal procedures, and despite the classified files making clear the urgent need for a new cellmate was communicated between day and evening watch shifts at the jail.

The next day, he was dead. Contemporary news reports noted his associates were “surprised” at the news, as the prolific pedophile “seemed recently to be in good spirits,” leading them to express concern “about the possibility of foul play.”

Regular half-hour checks on the inmate also ceased, contrary to standard procedure, as designated guards Tova Noel and Michael Thomas spent substantial portions of shift at their desk, browsing the internet, and moving around the common area, mere meters away from Epstein’s cell.

Moreover, two cameras in the vicinity apparently malfunctioned, while a third in the adjacent hallway was also corrupted. Some footage in some areas is said to exist, but has not been released publicly. Noel and Thomas subsequently admitted to fabricating log entries, and were charged with lying on prison records.

A serious crime indeed, but on December 13, 2020, the charges were summarily dropped. This wasn’t disclosed publicly until December 30, though – a day after Maxwell was found guilty of recruiting and trafficking young girls for sexual abuse.

Strikingly, in its reporting on the prison’s psychological assessments of Epstein, the New York Times framed the prolific sex offender’s insistence he had no intention whatsoever of committing suicide as a testament to his “life of manipulation,” immense skill at deceiving others, and endless ability to “[create] illusions.”

Are they describing Epstein here or the New York Times?

Another obvious interpretation, apparently unconsidered by America’s purported paper of record, is that his denial of suicidal intentions and hopefulness about the future could well have been sincere – and his death may thus be attributable to external actors and factors unknown.

'I don't give a toss what Prince Andrew feels… he is a horrible,

nasty man':

Duke's ex-maid says she has no regrets about speaking out over his

'demanding and entitled' foul-mouthed rants

Former Buckingham Palace maid Charlotte Briggs today defended her Prince Andrew revelations and attacked him for being a 'horrible man.'

Ms Briggs, 47, said she had no regrets about speaking out over the Duke's 'demanding and entitled' foul-mouthed rants, which she claimed left her in tears.

Speaking to MailOnline in her hometown of Halifax, West Yorkshire, she said: 'I don't give a toss what Prince Andrew feels… he is a horrible, nasty man.'

She added: 'It has been more than 26 years and I did sign (a privacy agreement) under the official secrets act. But my husband and I saw the TV programme during the week when his teddy bears were mentioned and he said it was a good time for me to speak about what happened to me too.'

The mother of two said she had been criticised in her hometown today after her revelations made front page news.

Charlotte Briggs (pictured), 47, said she had no regrets about speaking out over his 'demanding and entitled' foul-mouthed rants

'When I was in the supermarket someone accused me of cashing in on him, but I'm entitled to speak about what happened to me even though it was so long ago.

'I am not sorry at all. But I have been hurt by some of the remarks against me.'

She said despite the Duke of York's arrogant attitude towards her, she never witnessed or heard of any improper behaviour by him.

The Prince faces a sex abuse trial and details of his angry outbursts are likely to cause him further embarrassment as he prepares to give sworn testimony against claims by Virginia Giuffre. She has accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 — which he vehemently denies.

Ms Briggs added: 'I just don't care about Prince Andrew after his bad behaviour towards me.'

It comes after she claimed on Thursday that she was 'left in tears' by Andrew's foul-mouth rants, and on one occasion faced his wrath over a tiny gap in his curtains.

Speaking to The Sun, Ms Briggs said the prince yelled at her: 'Can't you f***ing do anything right?' as she ran up and down the stairs to fix the curtains, some of which he was sitting a matter of yards away from.

'This man fought for his country in the Falklands but couldn't stand up to close his own curtains,' she told the newspaper. 'It was utterly ridiculous but spoke volumes about him,' she added.

By comparison, Ms Briggs said that the Duke's brothers Charles and Edward, as well as other royals she encountered during her time at the palace, were 'wonderful'.

She began working at Buckingham Palace in 1996 when she was 21, but within six months was tasked with being Andrew's maid; a job that 'nobody wanted,' she said. At the time, Andrew was 36 and had recently divorced from Sarah Ferguson. He would frequently fly off the handle and expected everything to be done for him.

Ms Briggs, from Halifax, broke her silence to The Sun after Prince Andrew was stripped of his military titles amid a sex assault lawsuit brought by Ms Giuffre in the United States. Ms Giuffre claims she was trafficked by convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to have sex with the prince three times when she was a teenager. The Duke of York vehemently denies the allegations.

Ms Briggs spoke about how Andrew's pillows were embroidered with the Royal Crest, that they had to be right in the centre of his four-poster bed, and that his pyjamas and his teddy bears had to be precisely laid out.

Having moved down from Yorkshire to London, her first six months working at the palace involved cleaning offices. On her first day, Ms Briggs said Prince Edward held the door for her as they took the bins out, but otherwise she didn't encounter many of the royals early on.

That changed when she was asked to be Andrew's maid. No one else wanted to, she said, because of his reputation for tantrums.

Having moved back to the palace after his divorce, the Duke had taken up residence on the 'nursery floor' where he, Prince Charles, Prince Edward and Princess Anne used to play when they were children.

But despite being a grown man who served in the military, he refused to do anything himself, Ms Briggs told the newspaper.

'We'd turn down his bed, remove his teddies, do the curtains and lay out his pyjamas. But he was a bad apple and behaved like a spoiled brat,' she said.

On one occasion, she said he called down from his office for a maid to be sent up to close the curtains in his office, she recalled. For Ms Briggs, this meant putting on her evening dress, going up four flights of stairs to close the curtains Andrew was sitting a matter of feet away from.

As she left the rooms, Ms Briggs said Andrew screamed at her over the fact she had left a small gap at the top, despite the curtains running floor to ceiling.

During her time at Buckingham Palace, she said the other royals treated her well. Prince Edward was kind, she said, and she was even hugged by Nelson Mandela.

At the time, she was paid £600 a month and in 1996, she was even pictured on the royal balcony ahead of the Trooping the Colour ceremony, according to The Sun. But Andrew, Ms Briggs said, ruined her time at the palace.

She also claimed to The Sun that the prince kept Sarah Ferguson's wedding dress in his wardrobe after they divorced in 1992. The royal couple married at Westminster Abbey in July 1986. The former palace maid also claimed that her makeup was still laid out on his dressing table, suggesting he still held a flame for her, she said.

The revelations about the Duke's outbursts will likely cause him even more embarrassment as he prepares testify against the claims made by Ms Giuffre. It also comes after The Queen - his mother - stripped him of his royal titles, and as he is facing calls to be evicted from the Royal Lodge in Windsor where he currently lives with his ex-wife Ferguson.

MailOnline has approached Buckingham Palace for comment from Prince Andrew regarding Ms Briggs's comments in The Sun.

Ms Briggs' account of Prince Andrews teddy bears is not the first time they have been mentioned. Earlier this week, former palace guard Paul Page claimed that Andrew had a bed with '50 or 60' stuffed toys and maids were given a laminated picture so each bear could carefully be put back in its original position.

The former constable, who left the Metropolitan Police in 2007, was part of the elite Royal Protection Squad and had access to the Duke of York's private residence. His comments came in an ITV documentary: 'Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile' that aired on Monday.

He said: 'It had about 50 or 60 stuffed toys positioned on the bed and basically there was a card the inspector showed us in a drawer and it was a picture of these bears all in situ. 'The reason for the laminated picture was if those bears weren't put back in the right order by the maids, he would shout and scream.'

Writer Elizabeth Day was introduced to Andrew's 'strange' teddy bear collection back in 2019 at Buckingham Palace. She wrote: 'I was told to wait in a corridor where my only other companion was an oversized teddy bear squashed into a seat.

'When I was ushered in to meet Prince Andrew, I asked him about it. He sniggered and told me it had been a wedding gift from his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

A spokesperson for Prince Andrew has refused to comment on Ms Brigg's remarks.

Katie Price is arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining

order after 'sending abusive message to ex Kieran Hayler's

girlfriend' after she accused him of raping an underage girl

Katie Price is an English media personality, model and businesswoman

Katie Price has been arrested on suspicion of breaching her restraining order after she allegedly texted her ex-husband Kieran Hayler's fiancee, MailOnline can reveal.

Sussex Police said that a woman in her 40s was arrested at a property in Partridge Green, West Sussex at around 12.15am last night. She has been released under investigation.

A spokesman added a report had been made at 5.45pm on Friday in relation to an alleged breach of a restraining order.

Later on Saturday, Katie Price was seen being driven out of Worthing Police station by her fiancé Carl Woods.

Price, who lives in 'Mucky Mansion', is banned from contacting Mr Hayler's girlfriend Michelle Penticost under the terms of a five-year restraining order imposed after she verbally abused her in a school playground.

The ex-glamour model, 43, has accused her estranged husband, 34, of grooming and raping an underage girl in 2016 before their divorce two years later.

Mr Hayler, a former stripper, has angrily denied the 'false' allegations' and vowed to co-operate with police.

'At 5.45pm on Friday (21 January) police responded to a report that a suspect had breached their restraining order,' a force spokesman said.

'Officers arrested a woman in her 40s who has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.'

MailOnline has approached representatives for Price and Mr Hayler for comment.

Mr Hayler's fiancee Miss Penticost, 39, shared a cryptic message on Instagram which read: 'Normal people don't go around destroying other human beings.' She also shared the hashtag 'restrainingorder'.

Price claims that she went to police before the divorce — but suggests that the alleged victim has now come forward herself.

Sussex Police says Mr Hayler has not been arrested and described the alleged victim as a 'girl', who was under the age of 16 in 2016.

A spokesman said: 'We are investigating a report that in 2016 a girl was raped by an adult male known to her at a location in West Sussex.

Police are to question Price's ex-husband Mr Hayler over historic rape allegations relating to another woman they both knew

'No arrest has been made at present. The girl is receiving support from specially trained officers'.

Mr Hayler's spokesman previously told the Mirror: 'Kieran is absolutely devastated by these untrue allegations and has requested to meet the investigating officer as soon as possible to clear his name.

'He is certain that these allegations are false and have been fabricated by a third party in an act of revenge.

'He will fight to clear his name and moreover for those responsible to be brought to justice.'

A source close to Mr Hayler added to The Sun: 'Police have been in touch with Kieran regarding an allegation from 2016, which is believed to have been made by Katie. It relates to someone they knew while they were married.

'Kieran is co-operating and insists he has done nothing wrong — but he's happy to speak to the cops about it.

'He just wants to move on from his marriage to Katie.'

Prince Andrew's teddy bear tantrums revealed: Ex-Royal protection

officer claims Duke of York would 'shout and scream' if palace maids

knocked out of place his collection of 60 stuffed toys

Prince Andrew would 'shout and scream' if his teddy bear collection was knocked out of place by palace maids, a former royalty protection officer has claimed.

Former bodyguard Paul Page made the revelation during an interview with Ranvir Singh for the upcoming ITV documentary, Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile.

The former constable, who left the Metropolitan Police in 2007, was part of the elite Royal Protection Squad and had access to the Duke of York's private residence.

He claimed that Andrew had a bed with '50 or 60' stuffed toys and maids were given a laminated picture so each bear could carefully be put back in its original position.

Writer Elizabeth Day was introduced to Andrew’s 'strange' teddy bear collection back in 2019 at Buckingham Palace.

'It seemed rather strange to me that a grown man should be so amused by the presence of a stuffed toy, but I suppose the English upper classes have a long history with teddy bears used as transitional objects to express emotions they might feel uncomfortable with.

'I wondered if this was someone who had never really grown up because he had never had to. Here he was, taking up space in his mother’s house, carrying out a made-up job to keep him entertained and still having a teddy bear his ex-wife had given him. It was weird.'

The royalty protection officer - who was in the Royal Protection Command from 1998 to 2004 - also said that officers believed the Duke was in an 'intimate relationship' with Robert Maxwell's daughter, The Sun Online reports.

Page, who was jailed in 2009 for a £3million fraud scam, claimed Ghislaine Maxwell rarely signed in and entered the palace 'at will'.

This photo seems to confirm a long-term relationship between the two.

He added: 'From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew.

'She kept coming in and out, in and out.'

Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile will feature on ITV on Tuesday night at 9pm.

Police say ‘doxxing’ of J.K. Rowling by trans activists is no crime

Authorities say no further action will be taken after a photo of the author’s home

was published on Twitter

Scottish police have said they will take no action against transgender rights activists who posted a photo of J.K. Rowling’s Edinburgh home on Twitter. Law enforcement said the actions were deemed “not criminal.”

On Monday, Police Scotland confirmed that they had made inquiries into the alleged “doxxing” of J.K. Rowling but no criminality was established. The police gave no further information.

In November, the author claimed her home address in Edinburgh was exposed when a group of trans rights activists posed outside her house and shared the image on Twitter. Rowling said they had carefully positioned themselves to ensure the address was visible.

“I have to assume [they] thought doxxing (the act of publishing private personal information) me would intimidate me out of speaking up for women’s sex-based rights,” the 56-year-old tweeted in response.

“Perhaps, and I’m just throwing this out there, the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us,” she added.

That would require a certain amount of logic, Trans-activists don't use logic, just emotion.

The activists deleted the photo one day later, after they allegedly received “serious and threatening transphobic messages.”

Rowling claimed the activists were attempting to “intimidate” her, but said she had received “so many death threats I could paper the house with them” and still would not stop speaking her mind.

The author has sparked controversy over transgender issues in the past. She has frequently spoken up in defense of safe spaces for women, and caused a stir when she objected to the phrase “people who menstruate” being used in an op-ed article in place of the word “women.”

Scotland, however, has pushed forward with several policies aimed at making life easier for the trans community. For example, people can now self-identify as male or female in the Scottish census this year.

What about the 112 or so other gender types?

Epstein worked to ‘whitewash’ Clinton ties – media

Disgraced pedo billionaire had ex-employees sign papers stating

they never saw Bill Clinton at ‘orgy island’

Jeffrey Epstein reportedly had ex-managers of his ‘orgy island’ sign an affidavit affirming they never saw Bill Clinton visiting the place.

Miles and Cathy Alexander were employed by Epstein between 1999 to 2007. According to the Daily Mail, in 2016, they were contacted by Epstein’s lawyer Darren Indyke, who wanted them to sign, under oath, a paper stating they never saw Bill Clinton on Little St. James island while they were managing the financier’s Caribbean property.

The British newspaper linked the move to the then-ongoing presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, claiming Epstein went to “remarkable lengths” to “whitewash” her ex-president husband’s links to him.

Claims that Clinton visited the island, which was allegedly a place of hedonistic debauchery and sexual crimes against minors, came from Virginia Roberts (now Giuffre). She is one of Epstein’s victims, who is accusing Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, of taking advantage of her, an allegation the member of the British royal family denies.

Clinton admitted to having flown Epstein’s private jet, dubbed the “Lolita express” by the media, on several occasions, but denied he ever visited Little St. James island.

The Daily Mail said the Alexanders declined to speak to them, but that they managed to get some answers from certain people close to the couple, who currently live in South Africa. They reportedly didn’t witness any orgies on the island. Some of the girls visiting the place looked young to them, they told friends, but only one of them, a French model, was confirmed to be underage. She was “accompanied by a chaperone and had a letter of authority from her parents allowing her to travel,” according to the report.

The Alexanders resigned from their jobs a year after the FBI started investigating Epstein in what he described to his employees as a case of entrapment. Indyke, the lawyer who worked for the financier for two decades, contacted them in 2016. He brought a pre-written statement saying that “to the best of their knowledge” Bill Clinton had never visited the island during their tenure managing it, a source told the Daily Mail.

Miles reportedly slightly reworded the document before he and his wife signed it in the presence of a notary. According to the Daily Mail, what the couple told their friends about Clinton didn’t contradict the affidavit.

The source suggested that the move was linked to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. “There was a worry that the link between Epstein and Clinton and in particular the island could be used against Hillary,” the source explained.

Perhaps the title of this article should be, "Clinton worked to whitewash Billie's ties"?

Epstein died in a prison cell in 2019 as he was awaiting trial on multiple charges including sex trafficking. He pleaded not guilty. His death was described as a suicide by authorities. In December, his confidante Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty and convicted by a US federal court on several charges related to the sex trafficking of minors.
