DERRY Bishop's Street Court house |
Dr Lee Casey, 52, who is based at the Oakleaf medical practice in Great James' Street Health Centre, faces two charges of indecently assaulting two girls.
He denies the charges.
The first offence is alleged to have occurred between 1 October 2005 and 31 October 2006.
The second offence is alleged to have taken place between 1 April 2006 and 1 May 2006.
When asked if he had anything to say in answer to the two charges of indecent assault, Dr Casey replied "definitely not guilty".
The defendant further replied "not at this stage" when asked if he wished to give evidence, call witnesses or tender documents.
The district judge said that, based on the papers before the court, he found there was a prima facie case to answer.
Dr Casey's defence lawyer said he was making no submissions at this stage.
The defendant, who was accompanied in court by members of his immediate family, was released on his own bail of £200 to appear before Londonderry Crown Court for his arraignment on the two charges in September.
As part of Mr Casey's bail conditions he must continue to reside at his Mansefield Grove home in the Waterside area of Derry.
