Child Pornography Charges Recommended Against 2 Vancouver Island Men

Police on Vancouver Island are recommending charges be laid against two men on unrelated child pornography offences.

Oceanside RCMP Cpl Jesse Foreman said police arrested a 42-year-old Qualicum Beach man and a 54-year-old man from Parksville.

Search warrants were recently executed in both men's homes, because investigators suspected there was child pornography being held on their computers.

Foreman said the two cases are unrelated, and both men have been released on conditions until scheduled court appearances in June.

GEORGETOWN, Prince Edward Island – A man charged with possessing child pornography was sentenced to ten months in jail by Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court here Thursday.

Timothy Daniel Hache, 24, was also handed three years probation after he was charged last year when police began investigating an IP address on a computer in Georgetown.

Hache admitted to downloading pornographic images and videos out of curiosity and pleaded guilty to possession. The crown had requested a one year  sentence.
