Another 7 y/o accuses Aussie swim coach of sexual abuse, already charged with raping a 7 y/o

By JOSH HANRAHAN FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

A tenth young girl has made allegations of sexual assault against a Sydney swimming teacher.

Kyle James Henk Daniels, 20, was hit with fresh charges on Wednesday relating to a new alleged victim, aged seven, who recently came forward to NSW police.

Police will allege Daniels sexually abused the seven-year-old at the Mosman Swim Centre, on Sydney's lower north shore, between February and June 2018.

He was charged with an additional count of indecent assault a person under 16 years and an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) was taken out on behalf of the girl.

Apparently, an AVO provides some protection to the girl from the accused.

The former Knox Grammar prefect (in some schools, a prefect is a senior student authorized to enforce discipline) is now facing a total of 36 charges relating to allegations he sexually abused nine female students at the pool where he worked.

Daniels' lawyer said his client denies the allegations.

A seven-year-old girl is the tenth alleged victim to come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Sydney swim teacher Kyle James Henk Daniels, 20 (pictured with his mother)

The AVO was the eighth to be taken out against Daniels.

Daniels, who is currently studying sports science at the University of Sydney, was charged over incidents police say took place at the centre between January 1, 2018 and March 2 this year while he was employed as a swimming teacher.

The allegations include sexual intercourse with a child under 10, intentionally sexually touch a child under 10 and the indecent assault of a person under 16.

Court documents claim Daniels' alleged offences began in January 2018, with the indecent assault of a ten-year-old girl.

Among the allegations are that Daniels had sexual intercourse with a seven-year-old girl eight times in just three weeks.

The documents also claim Daniels was still allegedly committing sexual offences on swim students up until 10 days before he was arrested.

The shocking allegations against Daniels led police to hold an information night on Thursday for concerned parents on the city's north shore.

One mother who attended the evening told Daily Mail Australia police focused on the common behaviour of children who have been abused, after some of Daniels alleged victims were not discovered for more than a year.

Saskatchewan child sex offender wanted counselling, struggled with urges, prior to reoffending

BRE MCADAM, SASKATOON STARPHOENIX

The Crown wants Ethan James Fergusson, 29, to be designated a dangerous offender after Fergusson tried to get a 17-year-old boy to send him nude photos while he was serving a child luring sentence in the community.

While taking sex offender programming in the community, convicted child lurer Ethan James Fergusson was simultaneously texting and phoning a 17-year-old boy, begging him to send nude photos.

He was struggling to control his urges, comparing himself to an alcoholic, a Saskatoon Queen’s Bench courtroom heard this week during Fergusson’s dangerous offender hearing.

At the time, Fergusson was serving a sentence of two years less a day for child luring and possessing child pornography. He had been released from jail and was serving the remainder of his sentence in a community training residence (CTR), also known as a halfway house, so that he could receive sex offender programming.

Fergusson was asked to leave his weekly group sessions in May 2017 when facilitators learned he was being investigated for new child luring and child pornography offences. His release was revoked and he returned to jail.

Crown prosecutor Leslie Dunning is arguing for a dangerous offender designation with a fixed-length sentence followed by a long-term supervision order. Defence lawyer Lisa Watson is opposing the designation.

According to an agreed statement of facts, Fergusson’s 17-year-old target refused to send any nude photos and told his father, who called police.

Officers searched a cellphone that Fergusson was prohibited from having and discovered 29 child porn images, mostly of the boy Fergusson had been contacting. He told police that he’d engaged in sex acts with the boy, starting when the victim was eight years old and ending a day before he was sentenced for unrelated child luring in 2016.

Fergusson pleaded guilty to sexual assault between 2008 and 2015, procuring a child between 2008 and 2017, making child porn between 2011 and 2013, two counts of luring a child between 2014 and 2017 and possessing child porn.

The agreed facts show Fergusson had been trying to contact other sex offenders, including repeat child porn offender Shane Pattison and convicted voyeur Kyle Hameluck.

He wrote letters to Pattison; court heard the men met in jail and that Fergusson, who didn’t have many friends, wanted to stay in touch with him. Fergusson’s probation officer, Angie Pollom, said it was a “red flag.”

Sex offender programming consists of three components: education, treatment and maintenance. Fergusson still needs to finish the treatment portion, group facilitators testified.

Court heard Fergusson actively participated in the program, acknowledged the harm he had caused his victims and wanted more treatment. He had also asked for individual counselling on multiple occasions, but he wasn’t considered an immediate priority.

Good grief!

Pollom, who also helped run the sex offender program, said Fergusson’s reasons for counselling were vague, he wasn’t suicidal and he had both family and community support. Facilitators encouraged him to focus on the group work for the time being.

Could it be he was not wanting to sexually abuse more children? Is the sex offender program so offender focused that it cannot see the consequences to the potential victims? I think when a person asks for help they are probably ready for it and need it. It should be available.

Resources are scarce when it comes to free, one-on-one counsellors who are comfortable working with sex offenders, Pollom testified.

This has got to change! This pedophilia epidemic is getting worse by the day and we have to find the resources to fight it.

During cross-examination, she told Watson she wished Fergusson had used his supports before reoffending. She agreed with Watson that he was previously told to deal with his “personal issues” outside of the group setting, and that he had listed one of his coping strategies as “seeking help.”

Aussie doctor charged with allegedly inciting
sex online with 11 y/o girl
By Stuart Marsh

A specialist NSW doctor has been charged by police after allegedly inciting the sexual assault of a child in Sydney’s west.

Detectives from the Child abuse and Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) first began interacting with the doctor online in March this year.

Police will allege in court the Coffs Harbour-based man believed he was speaking with a 32-year-old woman who was the mother of an 11-year-old girl.

The man was in fact speaking to specialist officers.

During their conversations, police will allege the man engaged in conversations about sexually explicit acts he wished to perform on the child as well as with the mother and daughter together.

Officers will also allege the man sent child abuse material and then made arrangements to meet both the woman and the girl for sex.

Following their investigations, strike force detectives arrested the doctor at a hotel at Parramatta about 7.30pm last night.

The investigators also executed a search warrant on the man’s hotel room, and seized a laptop, mobile phones, electronic storage devices and a number of children toys.

The doctor was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with inciting a person as an accessory before the fact to attempted aggravated sexual intercourse of a person between 10 and 14 years of age, and using a carriage service for child pornography.

Detectives have also executed a search warrant at a property in Coffs Harbour.

NSW Police said the role the CEIU plays in protecting children is ongoing.

“Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by the CEIU into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Regular covert online investigations are conducted by the CEIU; and police in NSW work closely with their law-enforcement colleagues interstate and overseas.”

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.

Toddler's murderer/torturer jailed for max 44 years
in Sydney
By Kelly Fedor • Court Reporter, 9NEWS

A Sydney man has been jailed for a maximum 44 years for murdering a two-year-old girl in a series of horrific assaults.

The NSW Supreme Court heard she lost consciousness for about an hour in December 2016 when Mohammed Khazma, 25, grabbed her head and slammed it into a wall in the Guildford home.

The following day he slapped her so hard she fell forward and hit the ground and also shook her.

Mohammed Khazma was jailed today of murdering his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter in 2016. (9news)

After she was pronounced dead the following day, doctors saw the bite marks and multiple burns on her tiny body.

Justice Elizabeth Fullerton told the court she had 114 injuries on just about every part of her body which included the soles of her feet.

When he was arrested by police Khazma said he didn't mean to kill her, words he later tried to take back.

“My step daughter like she had seizures every couple of days for a week and you know I tried to help her.”

She probably had the seizures because you hit her! So, you didn't mean to kill her, just torture he some more.

Mohammed Khazma had blamed his girlfriend on the toddler's death when he was arrested in 2016 (9news)

She (the mother, I presume) was jailed for at least 16 months for failing to take her daughter away from Khazma and not seeking medical help.

She gave evidence against Khazma where she claimed she felt powerless and was too frightened to intervene.

Justice Fullerton said she had a "desperate need to placate the offender at the expense of her daughter."

This happens far too often all over the world. Women choosing their boyfriends over their own children's well-being and even life. She should have left with her daughter, or called the police, the very first time he hurt her.

"The two adults who were in different ways ultimately criminally responsible for her death."

She said there was nothing in Khazma's history which explained why he did what he did attributing it to "uncontrolled rage and complete lack of appreciation of the vulnerability of the child."

Khazma will be eligible for parole in 2049.

in Hyderabad
By TelanganaToday

Commissioner of Police Shikha Goel and others at a round table conference on child sexual abuse on Friday.

Hyderabad, India: As many as 92 incidents of child sexual abuse have been reported in the city in the last three months, a recent survey said. These cases were from all three Police Commissionerates — Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda. Liverpool 'dropout' jailed for Silk Road dark web site

MERSEYSIDE POLICE

A jobless university dropout who created a site on the dark web to sell drugs and child sex abuse images has been jailed.

Thomas White launched Silk Road 2.0 less than a month after the FBI closed the original site in 2013.

In March, the 24-year-old admitted drug trafficking, money laundering and making 464 indecent images of children.

On Friday, he was sentenced, at Liverpool Crown Court, to 64 months in jail.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) said White quit his accounting degree at Liverpool John Moores University after a single term.

He was an administrator of the Silk Road 2.0 dark web site, which let users buy and sell drugs and computer hacking tools with a degree of anonymity.

White's site specialised in supplying class A and B drugs as well as legal highs, when he ran it from November 2013 to March 2014.

The NCA said White also hoarded child sex abuse images of the most extreme nature so that he could sell them.

What was the Silk Road?
The Silk Road website took its name from the historic trade routes spanning Europe, Asia and parts of Africa.

It achieved notoriety through media reports and online chatter. But users could only access the site through Tor, a system that obfuscates who is visiting a website and from which country.

Tor was created by the US government to help provide activists with anonymity. It is now used for a variety of purposes - including masking illegal transactions.

Illegal drugs such as heroin could be bought on the Silk Road using the crypto-currency Bitcoin, which can be difficult to trace. The website also offered hacking equipment and stolen passports for sale.

Although he had no legitimate income, White paid £10,700 up front to rent a plush apartment on Liverpool's waterfront. He also spent £35,000 on computer equipment.

Investigators are not sure how much money he made from his website. However, $96m (£73m) worth of goods were traded on Silk Road 2.0 and White took between 1% and 5% commission on each sale.

In an online chat with an administrator of Silk Road 2.0, White said he wanted to set up a website for paedophiles "because there is money to be made from these people".

A vast amount of encrypted data was discovered on his computers including copies of information stolen from the FBI, Nasa, the extra-marital affairs website Ashley Madison and UK internet service provider TalkTalk.

White is not thought to have hacked the companies himself.

Investigators also seized from White about 50 bitcoins, which have a current value of about £192,000.

"We believe he profited significantly from his crimes, which will now be subject to a proceeds of crime investigation," said Ian Glover from the NCA.

UK Solicitor removed from roll over
child sex abuse conviction
By John Hyde
The Law Society Gazette

A solicitor for more than 30 years has consented to be struck off following his conviction for child sexual abuse offences.

Donald Anthony Ramsbottom agreed with the Solicitors Regulation Authority that the seriousness of his misconduct required him to be removed from the roll. The agreed outcome was certified by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal following a hearing last month.

Ramsbottom, admitted to the roll in 1988, was convicted last October of two offences of sexual assault of a child and one offence of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child. He was sentenced in November to four months’ imprisonment which was suspended for 24 months.

He was also ordered to undertake a rehabilitation activity requirement, ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge and £350 costs, and was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for seven years.

The tribunal did not disclose details of the offences or the court where he appeared.

He was found in breach of two SRA principles: failing to act with integrity and failing to behave to a way that maintains the trust the public places in him and the provision of legal services.

The tribunal judgment added: '[He] has been convicted of serious offences of a sexual nature. In relation to culpability, all of his convictions arose from conduct over which he had direct control and which would not be expected of a solicitor.'

Ramsbottom has agreed to pay £1,120 costs.

Perth lollipop man Michael Cyril Hyde defends child sex abuse allegations
By Joanna Menagh
ABC Australia

A Perth lollipop man on trial for filming himself allegedly sexually abusing young children, including a one-year-old girl, has insisted there was "nothing sexual" in what he did.

Michael Cyril Hyde, 60, has pleaded not guilty to child sex offences alleged to have been committed against five children from two families between 2011 and 2016, while he was working as a traffic warden at a western suburbs primary school.

The District Court was told the alleged abuse was recorded by Mr Hyde and for the past few days, the hours of footage has been played to the jury in a courtroom that was closed to the public and the media.

Giving evidence in his own defence today, Mr Hyde maintained that there was "nothing sexual" in what he had done.

He was specifically questioned about his alleged abuse of two girls aged six, testifying that they had an "auto-immune deficiency" that led to them developing sores or lesions on their bodies.

He said he had touched them in the way he did "for their health" and "to make sure they were clean" and "to make sure they didn't get ill".

Was he a doctor, a faith healer, did antibiotics ooze from his fingers? Good grief!

Mr Hyde said some of his comments on the video were "direct verbal proof" that the children did have a sore or lesion on the skin, saying he had been trying to ensure that they had not become infected.

He denied getting any sexual gratification from his actions, some of which he defended as "just playful behaviour".

"When you've got a six-year-old child … you don't look at them as being sexual objects … as having breasts," Mr Hyde said.

"They have a chest. You don't start breaking it down into vagina and chest."

Mr Hyde said he had recorded what he had done because he had eyesight problems and the viewfinder on the camera meant he could "blow up" the lesions on the children and see them "larger".

Mr Hyde is also accused of abusing a 12-month-old girl, after befriending her mother while he was working as a school traffic warden.

The court has heard he started babysitting the child, and her older sister, after gaining the mother's trust and it is also alleged he filmed down the older girl's top and up her school skirt.

Mr Hyde will continue his evidence when the trial resumes next week.

Adelaide sexual assault suspect wanted over attack on 10yo girl caught on CCTV
By Tom Fedorowytsch

The 10-year-old victim from the Afghan community was assaulted on Wednesday, April 3, in a toilet block at the Blair Athol Sports Community Club.

Police released CCTV footage today, which shows a man in a light-coloured top and dark shorts pushing a double stroller. It shows the man entering the park and then leaving with two other young girls, believed to be between the ages of one and four.

Police said they were "very confident" the two children were related to the suspect, but had concerns about their welfare.

"What is of concern to police, and remains a concern since day one, is that he is in company with two young girls when he attends the park and leaves," Detective Senior Sergeant Graham Tomkins said.

"This was an extremely brazen daylight attack. There were a lot of people in the vicinity of the playground, including passing motorists, who may have had the opportunity to see the man with the pram."

Police earlier revealed the girl's attacker spoke to her in her native language, and have used interpreters when carrying out doorknocks in the area.

Crime was 'highest end of sexual assault'

The suspect is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, aged between 30 and 50, with dark hair and a fringe across part of his forehead.

As part of their investigation, police will be at the park on Friday evening with a mannequin dressed like the girl and the girl's bike, to help trigger any memories witnesses might have.

They previously released a computer-generated image of the suspect as well as CCTV of the victim riding her bike.

Police also made appeals for help to the community in the Hazaragi and Dari languages, and are also seeking any dashcam footage.

"Detectives have worked tirelessly on this case since it was reported on Wednesday last week," Senior Sergeant Tomkins said.

"We not only want to track down the man responsible for this horrible assault, but there is a real sense of urgency to make sure those two little girls that appear to be in his care are safe."

Senior Sergeant Tomkins said the man's offending was "at the highest end of sexual assault".

"This girl is remarkably brave … she has constantly amazed the senior detectives involved in the case," he said.

"She gave a stoic account of what happened to her."

Media posts about the incident have been targeted by trolls on social media.

Afghan community leader Samandar Khan Sediqi said it was premature to assume the suspect was of Afghan background.

"Identification is not clear yet," he said. "It's been rumoured the accused was speaking Hazaragi and Dari. "The Hazaragi and Dari languages originate from Pakistan, from Afghanistan, from India, from Uzbekistan, from Iran, from Tajikistan."
