Babysitter’s Boyfriend Also Arrested for Murder of 2-Year-Old Fallon Fridley
On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, a second individual was charged in the case of a babysitter accused of murdering the two-year-old daughter of a close friend while the girl was in her care.
29-year-old Kirstie Flood, who had been Fallon Fridley’s regular babysitter since August and a friend of Fallon’s mother, Kristin Fridley Gantt, for about five years, was arrested two days after Fallon’s death on December 9, 2020. Kirstie told investigators that Fallon hit her head on a slide at the playground earlier in the day and became unresponsive later that evening at Kirstie’s apartment on Monterey Parkway in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Fallon was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she was pronounced dead.
According to Sandy Springs police, Fallon “suffered severe injuries that resulted in her death during her care by the suspect,” consisting of a massive skull fracture and lacerations to several internal organs, including her liver, spleen, and colon.

The doctor who treated her said, “a child with those types of injuries would not physically be able to walk around or function. This indicates that the injuries were inflicted relatively close to when the child was found.”
Official documents also noted that Fallon was bleeding from the vagina and anus, possibly indicating sexual abuse. Fallon’s death was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma.
Damning internet searches performed over a one-minute span were found on Kirstie’s phone during the investigation, including searches for “what type of people enjoy abusing other people’s children,” “why do people abuse,” and “what does it mean to have a sudden urge to beat a child that’s not yours.”
To answer the last question, it means you are demonically afflicted!
Kirstie also searched for “mental help” and “I hit my child and I feel guilty.” I’d bet a good amount of money that she didn’t actually feel guilty; any remorse she felt was likely for herself when she realized that Fallon’s injuries would be impossible to hide or explain away.

Last week, 28-year-old Jeffrey Scott Meyers, who is Kirstie’s boyfriend and the father of her eight-month-old son, was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. Kirstie also has a four-year-old daughter.
The arrest warrant for Jeffrey indicated that he was present in the Monterey Parkway apartment when Fallon’s fatal injuries occurred.
Sandy Springs Police Detective William Delaney wrote in the warrant, “After reviewing the totality of the information gained during the investigation, specifically the timeline of the infliction of the injuries to the time that the child was incapacitated was moments, Mr. Meyers was present and witness to the alleged abuse.”
In the warrant, Detective Delaney described bruising all over Fallon’s head, on her abdomen, and on her arms and legs, including her elbows.
Police apparently do not believe Jeffrey inflicted any of the injuries on Fallon. The affidavit states that nonetheless, “he had a duty to protect the child from the assault and intervene on her behalf."

“Mr Meyers appeared on video interacting with the child in a loving manner, and by his own admission, the child victim was like a family member. By his inaction, the child sustained multiple injuries that resulted in the child victim’s death.”
Jeffrey was arrested on January 6 for a probation violation and has been held since that date in the Fulton County Jail. On the new charges, he was denied bond; Kirstie has also been denied bond on her charges of malice murder, first degree cruelty to children, aggravated battery, and two counts of felony murder.
Anyone with information about Fallon’s case should contact Detective Delaney at wdelaney@sandyspringsga.gov or by phone at (770) 551-3313.
A GoFundMe page benefiting Kristin Fridley Gantt has, as of this writing, raised $60,550 of its $65,000 goal, which is intended to give Kristin time off work to process and mourn the death of her only child. Kristin has created a Facebook page, Justice for Fallon, where she posts frequent photos, videos, and updates about her daughter’s case and her efforts to work toward justice for Fallon.

A Baraboo man who faced nine counts of felony possession of child sexual abuse material found on a cell phone he had in Sauk County Jail had all but one felony charge dismissed Wednesday in Sauk County Circuit Court.
Ricardo F. Moliner-Wetzel, 34, was sentenced to three years in prison and three years of extended supervision after pleading no contest to a single count of felony child pornography possession.
Circuit Court Judge Wendy J. N. Klicko also required Moliner-Wetzel to undergo any necessary counseling and alcohol and other drug treatment. He will also be required to comply with the sex offender registry. Moliner-Wetzel can not have any contact with children unless incidental or family members. He will not be allowed to have internet-connected devices or access to the internet unless approved by his parole agent.
In a separate case, a felony charge of violating his bail and a misdemeanor count of violating the laws of a county institution were dismissed at the request of Sauk County District Attorney Rick Spoentgen due to Moliner-Wetzel’s plea in the case of child sexual abuse imagery possession. The charges were “read in,” meaning they were considered in sentencing.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A Grants Pass man accused of sexually abusing a teenager last month now faces child pornography charges, according to police.
The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety arrested the suspect, 60-year-old Jay Reese, at the beginning of February after receiving a report that he had sexually abused a 17-year-old girl. The girl reported that she met Reese at Walmart on Thursday, January 28. Then, police say, Reese took her to lunch and back to his home.
According to the report, the girl stayed at Reese's house overnight. Sometime during the night, Reese allegedly "subjected the victim to sexual contact without her consent."
GPDPS detectives arrested Reese on sex abuse charges on February 2, lodging him in the Josephine County Jail.
The agency said at the time that Reese had been associated with a number of school sports programs in Oregon and northern California over the past several years, prompting concerns that he may have victimized others.
Following Reese's arrest, police say that they were granted a search warrant to look through the man's cell phone. During that search, investigators reportedly found two images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
"One image depicted a toddler-aged female and one depicted a prepubescent female; both images included an unknown adult male subject engaged in sexual conduct," GPDPS said.
With the new evidence, a Josephine County Grand Jury approved an indictment of Reese on Tuesday for a total of five counts — three counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, and two counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.
Anyone with information about this or a similar case is asked to contact Detective Heather Yerrick at 541-450-6260, case #21-4447.

FRESNO, California (KGPE) – Facing charges of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl, 41-year old Brent Cox pleaded not guilty inside Fresno County Superior Court on Monday.
Cox is facing nine felonies for allegedly sexually abusing a 12-year old girl from June 2020 through January 2021. His first court appearance was in a red jail jumpsuit and he remained silent until spoken to by his attorney Marc Kapetan.
New charges state that the suspect’s wife Jill Cox, and the mother of the alleged victim, both took an active role in the abuse and committed a lewd act on the victim.
Defense counsel asked that cameras not be allowed in the courtroom, but the judge denied that request. The defense asked that a bail amount be set for his client and entered a plea.
“I’ll go ahead and enter a plea of not guilty and ask that the matter be set for a pre-preliminary hearing and a preliminary hearing,” said attorney Marc Kapetan.
Cox’s bail was set at $495,000.

TULSA CO., Okla. (WFIE) - A Madisonville, Kentucky, man charged in a child sexual abuse case, has pleaded guilty, 12 years after authorities say the crime happened.
Court records out of Oklahoma show 72-year-old James Elton Hendrix, of Madisonville, was arrested in 2018.
The affidavit shows the victim claimed the abuse happened several times in various locations, including Kentucky.
Hendrix is charged with one count of child sexual abuse from 2009 in Oklahoma.
He had a $25,000 bond, but was released shortly after his 2018 arrest in Tulsa County.
Court records show a jury trial was canceled late last month, and there was a plea hearing Monday morning.
Court officials tell us Hendrix was sentenced to three years, suspended to probation, and he must register as a sex offender.
Wow! I'm inclined to believe that the defense lawyer and the DA handling this case were not of the same calibre.
Boyfriend in Macon child sex abuse case pleads guilty,
gets 10 years in prison
Tony Reid

DECATUR — Jesse W. Demascal, the Macon man who collaborated with his girlfriend to sexually abuse her three children — all aged under 13 — pleaded guilty and was sent to prison for 10 years.
The trial of the 32-year-old Demascal had been due to begin Monday until he made a surprise appearance in court Friday and entered two guilty pleas to twin charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The guilty pleas were part of a plea deal negotiated by his defense attorney, Monroe McWard. In return, Special Prosecutor Kate Kurtz agreed to drop two counts of predatory criminal sexual abuse, four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, six counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of exploiting a child.
Holy, another trainwreck plea deal for the prosecutor!
Demascal’s 33-year-old girlfriend and the mother of the children, Ashley N. Jobe, had been sentenced to 10 years in prison Jan. 20 after taking the same plea deal involving the same two charges. In her case, prosecutors dropped four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, four counts of sexually exploiting a child and one count of exploiting a child.
Kurtz had told the court at the time of Jobe’s sentencing that she believed the plea agreement was in the best interest of the children, sparing them from the emotional pain of trial testimony and questioning.
Sounds to me like it was in Jobe's best interest. If she really had her children's best interests at heart, she wouldn't have done what she did in the first place.
Macon County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Griffith had sentenced Demascal to five years on each guilty plea, and “having considered the character of the defendant and for the protection of the public,” ordered the terms to run consecutively. But Demascal was also given credit for two years spent in jail since his arrest in 2019, and he is eligible for day-for-day credit.
He was also ordered to register with law enforcement as a sex offender until he dies.
Sworn affidavits about the crimes filed by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office said police had been alerted to what was going on in the children’s Macon home by the Department of Children and Family Services. The children were removed and placed with a foster mother.
The affidavits said the children described being encouraged to perform sex acts with the couple on multiple occasions. The affidavits said both Jobe and Demascal initially denied the allegations and then told detectives they enjoyed watching pornography on themes of incest. Jobe had said if any sex crimes had occurred, they had happened while the adults were under the influence of synthetic cannabis.
Parents should not be under the influence of drugs, even cannabis, when they are responsible for children, ever!
