Dubai: A 21-year-old mentally disabled girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Cairo, local media reported.
The three suspects were bus drivers and are said to have committed the crime in broad daylight during Ramadan.
The victim, Toqa, is said to be suffering from mental retardation.
According to the family, Toqa’s brother invited her to spend some days with his children, and after she arrived at her brother’s house, she decided to go out with her nephews to play with them.
On the next day, she went out again at around 9am, while her brother and his wife were still sleeping. Three strangers stopped her and lured the girl to an apartment near her brother’s residence.
When Toqa’s brother woke up, he started looking for her and appealed for public help using mosques microphones and social media.
After 24 hours of searching, the girl was eventually spotted at a place far from her brother’s residence, with signs of abuse on her body.
According to a butcher shop owner and eyewitnesses, the girl was kidnapped by three men who locked her up inside an apartment. They forgot to lock the doors when they finished their crime and ran away, which helped the victim leave that place.
Toqa’s brother immediately reported the incident to police who launched investigations and reviewed surveillance cameras installed in the area where the girl was last seen.
They managed to identify and arrest the three suspects, who were all bus drivers. Two of them are married and have children, while the third was married but recently divorced. They were all drug addicts.
Upon being arrested and confronted with evidence, they admitted to luring the girl and raping her repeatedly. They will be referred to the public prosecution for legal actions.

Dubai: An Egyptian man reportedly killed his 34-year-old wife using a kitchen knife a few minutes before Iftar, after the couple engaged in a row, local media reported.
Soon after committing the crime, the 36-year-old suspect called the local police alleging his wife has fallen on some sharp glass causing her serious injuries that led to her death.
He said while his wife was preparing Iftar, she felt exhausted and fell on sharp glasses, causing serious injuries in her neck, chin and head.
However, police suspected foul play. While being interrogated, the husband seemed a bit confused and his answers were not convincing.
This raised doubts around the husband being the killer and the investigation ended up proving that he was indeed behind the crime. “We had a row while she was preparing Iftar and I lost my mind. I grabbed a kitchen knife and killed her,” he said in his confession.
A Muslim losing his mind; imagine that!
The suspect has been arrested and will be referred to public prosecution for legal actions.
Pakistan: 16-year-old boy gang raped in Dera Ismail Khan
by five people

Islamabad: In yet another act of brutality, a 16-year-old teenage boy was gang raped Pakistan's Dera Ismail Khan city by at least five people, who also filmed and uploaded the video of the incident on social media.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Najmul Hasnain has confirmed that the incident took place during the holy month of Ramadan.
"This crime took place in Kari Shamozai area, in which the five accused raped a 16-year-old boy. And in order to make him as an example, they also uploaded the video of the shameful act on social media.
"When it started making rounds on the internet, the police was informed about it by the father of the victim and an FIR was registered against the five accused," Hasnain added.
Even though the five accused have been identified, the police are yet to make an arrest. Upon inquiry with the locals of the area, it was revealed that all the five accused have fled from Dera Ismail Khan to Karachi.
The incident has also come to the attention of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, who has directed the police to arrest the culprits involved and produce them before the court with all the proof.
Khan also directed the police authorities to make this case and the culprits an example for other criminals. He assured the family that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
Human rights activists have raised serious reservations on the consistently increasing cases of assault and sexual abuse of women and children, who remain as the most vulnerable segments of the Pakistani society.
"Children and women are the most vulnerable segments of our society and the crimes against them are increasing with each passing day without inviting any attention," said rights activist Imran Takkar.
"Parents don't understand the importance of educating their children about sex crimes and child predators and due to this such incidents are happening on a very large scale."
Another unfortunate thing about the incident is that it happened during Ramadan, when Muslims across the world observe a month-long fast.
"It is unfortunate that the crime took place in Ramadan but it was reported to police a month later, which is yet another evidence that victims try to hide such crimes to save their honour," Takkar added.
Honour is a badly misunderstood phenomenon. So many people think it involves what other people think about them, but really, it involves what God thinks of us, not anybody else. And He already knows what has happened to us the moment it happens.
Frontier Corp soldier accused of abusing boy in Pakistan

GWADAR: People blocked the CPEC Highway in the Hoshab area in protest against alleged sexual assault on a boy by a solider of the Frontier Corps.
Members of civil society and leaders of all political parties working in Kech district have endorsed the allegation and demanded an inquiry into the incident.
Federal Minister for Defence Production Zobaida Jalal said that the suspect would be brought to justice.
“Very sad incident reported from Hoshaab. The medical examination of the child is going on. Waiting for medico-legal reports. The soldier will be punished as per law,” she said in a tweet.
According to the local people, the incident took place in Hoshab town the other day.
A resident of the town alleged that his 13-year-old brother was beaten up along with another boy by an FC soldier who also tried to sexually abuse his brother.
The boy was taken to the district headquarters hospital in Turbat where doctors, after conducting his medical examination, did not confirm that the boy had been subjected to sexual abuse.
Dr Lal Mohammad, who conducted medical examination of the boy, said that some torture marks were found on the body of the boy, but no evidence of sexual abuse was found.
He said that the boy was brought to the hospital six to seven hours after the incident and after taking bath. “In this situation it is difficult to find out any evidence.”
However, the elder brother of the boy rejected the medical report and demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident.
On the other hand, FC officials denied the allegation of sexual assault on the boy and termed it a wrong propaganda against security forces.
They said some social media activists were continuously giving an impression that a Jawan of FC had committed sexual abuse with the boy which was not reality.
They said the security officials concerned, while fulfilling the demand for justice, had ordered an inquiry against the FC soldier.
They said some miscreants were making baseless propaganda against the state institutions to misguide people and create misunderstandings between them and security forces, but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs.
Not exactly open-minded!
