Porn star Ron Jeremy indicted on 30+ counts of rape & other sex crimes,

including assault on minor

Adult film star Ron Jeremy has been charged on more than 30 counts of rape and sexual assault, Los Angeles prosecutors said, alleging crimes against more than 20 women over a period of two decades, as well as one underage girl.

The 68-year-old porn actor, born Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, was indicted on 34 charges on Wednesday, including 12 counts of forcible rape and one count for a lewd act upon a child under the age of 15, in addition to a litany of other sexual crimes. He pleaded not guilty on all counts at a Wednesday court hearing.

The alleged crimes stretch back more than two decades, with the earliest dating to 1996, when Jeremy is accused of raping a 19-year-old woman during a photo shoot in California. The actor is also accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2004, and of raping another 17-year-old four years later.

Jeremy was first charged in June of 2020, at the time for eight counts, including rape, with additional charges added last August following his initial arrest, which prompted several other women to come forward with allegations. His case was later presented to a grand jury in order to avoid a public preliminary hearing, which would force witnesses to testify in open court, according to sources cited by the Los Angeles Times.

Jeremy’s attorney Stuart Goldfarb told Fox News that the actor’s “position is the same as when the criminal complaint was filed. He is innocent of all the charges.” He previously denied the allegations, which initially surfaced as rumors from a fellow adult film performer in 2016, calling them “pure lies or buyers’ remorse.”

The actor’s bail was set at $6.6 million after his arrest last year, and he has remained in jail awaiting court proceedings since. While no trial date has been set, his next pretrial hearing is set for mid-October.

One of the most prolific actors in the porn industry, Jeremy has racked up thousands of credits over a decades-long career that began in the 1970s, parlaying that success into reality shows, movies and music videos. He was charged by the same LA task force that took down Harvey Weinstein, a major Hollywood producer, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault last year, and now faces additional counts.

So, it doesn't appear that he was in such demand because of his looks. He must have some other attribute.

Former Bristow police officer sentenced to federal prison

in child sex abuse case

A former Bristow police officer who pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact involving a child under the age of 12 in Indian Country was sentenced to prison Thursday.

Bradley Don Goodin, 47, will serve a 15-year prison sentence under the terms of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

U.S. District Judge Gregory Frizzell approved the plea agreement during a hearing in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

In addition to the prison term, Frizzell also ordered Goodin to serve 20 years of supervised release by the U.S. Probation Office.

Goodin pleaded guilty in April to one count of abusive sexual contact in Indian Country that occurred in 2019. He pleaded guilty after prosecutors dropped all but one charge in two superseding indictments.

Goodin initially had been charged in Creek County District Court with lewd molestation and child sexual abuse involving two children, ages 9 and 11 at the time. Those charges were dropped Sept. 1 because the state did not have jurisdiction to prosecute him following the U.S. Supreme Court’s McGirt ruling because the victims are American Indians and the crime occurred within the Muscogee Nation reservation boundaries, according to court documents.

A federal grand jury in September named Goodin in a four-count indictment involving the two victims.

Prosecutors filed a superseding indictment Nov. 4 that added one count of abusive sexual contact in Indian Country that involved a third child and one count of possessing multiple firearms after being subject to a domestic violence protective order.

An affidavit filed in support of Goodin’s arrest indicated that the former police officer, who has not been employed by Bristow Police Department since November 2019, quoted the then 9-year-old girl as claiming that he sexually abused her twice on Oct. 5, 2019.

The girl was afraid to tell her mother what was happening at the time because she was afraid Goodin would harm them, but she later disclosed the abuse, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Goodin was sentenced after the two victims offered statements to the judge regarding how the crimes had affected them.

“Goodin betrayed two young victims and took advantage of the role he played in their lives,” said acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “The victims in this case bravely spoke today about the impact of Goodin’s crimes. I am proud of them for coming forward to face this child predator.”

A sentencing memorandum submitted on Goodin’s behalf urged the judge to waive a $5,000 assessment because he is indigent and he will no longer be able to work in fields that require either a state certification or license, which will be lost after he becomes a felon.

Hawaii prep school settles sex abuse lawsuits against

former basketball coach

A Honolulu prep school has settled multiple lawsuits with former students alleging that their basketball coach sexually assaulted them (2nd story on link) during the mid-2000s, The Star-Advertiser reported on Thursday.

“The victims and Punahou believe that all schools have a solemn responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of every child including protecting them from sexual abuse,” the Punahou School and the women who filed the lawsuits said in a joint statement.

“Together, we dedicate ourselves to creating environments in which all children are safe from sexual predators and empowered to realize their full intellectual, physical and creative potential.”

Former student-athletes including Shawna-Lei Kuehu and sisters Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Mahina Macfarlane Souza filed lawsuits against their former coach Dwayne Yuen last year, accusing him of sexual abuse.

The Macfarlane sisters allege that the school didn’t do anything to protect them after they reported Yuen’s sexual abuse, the Star-Advertiser reported.

Kuechu, a former all-state basketball player, accused Yuen, whose attorney did not respond to the Star-Advertiser's request for comment, of “unwanted sexual advances” and grooming players when he was their coach.

The Punahou School did not disclose terms of the full settlement, but it included two other anonymous victims, according to the Hawaii newspaper.

Former Clay Co. Fla deputy gets 35 years for child sex charges

(WJXT/file)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A former Clay County deputy accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison.

Travis Ryan Pritchard
, 38, was sentenced Tuesday in Jacksonville federal court, according to court records. He pleaded guilty last year (5th story on link) to producing an image of a child being sexually abused and possessing an image of a prepubescent child being sexually abused. He had faced up to 50 years in prison.

Pritchard began communicating with the girl through an online chat application in December 2019 after meeting her several months earlier at a convenience store, according to a criminal complaint. The two exchanged explicit photos and eventually began having sex on a weekly basis, with Pritchard sneaking into her Green Grove Springs home after her parents went to sleep, investigators said.

The girl’s mother contacted police in April 2020 and reported that her teenage daughter was having sex with an adult man. A detective took over the girl’s chat account and continued to exchange messages with Pritchard, officials said. They made arrangements to meet at the girl’s home the night of May 1, 2020. The complaint said Pritchard arrived at her home in his patrol vehicle early the next morning and was arrested a short time later.

A forensic review of Pritchard’s cellphone yielded multiple conversations between the girl and Pritchard, as well as an encrypted secure digital folder that contained multiple depictions of child sexual abuse, investigators said.

South Padre Island man heads to prison following the discovery of

more than 22K pornographic images

USDoJ

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - A 68-year-old local man has been ordered to federal prison for receipt and possession of child pornography, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery.

Robert Andrew Riley pleaded guilty June 25, 2019.

Today, U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr. imposed a 168-month term of imprisonment. In handing down the sentence, the court noted the amount of child pornography Riley possessed and further ordered he pay $78,000 in restitution to 26 victims. He must also serve 10 years on supervised release following completion of his prison term, during which time he will have to comply with numerous requirements designed to restrict his access to children and the internet. Riley will also be ordered to register as a sex offender.

In January 2018, authorities initiated an investigation into child pornography sharing on the internet. This led them to Riley’s address on South Padre Island.

Law enforcement later executed a search at his residence and seized several electronic and digital devices. Forensic analysis resulted in the discovery of 22,628 unique images and 6,097 unique videos of child pornography.

Riley has been and will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.

Homeland Security Investigations - Rio Grande Valley Child Exploitation Task Force conducted the investigation.

Jury Convicts East Aurora, Ill School Employee of Sex Assault of Student

A Kane County jury has found 65-year-old Juan C. Avendano (3rd story on link) guilty of three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.

Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Matthew Rodgers and Jessica Michels presented evidence that between August 2016 and June 2017 Avendano made sexual contact with the victim who was younger than 13 years old. Avendano was the victim’s teacher at Bardwell Elementary School in East Aurora School District 131.

Kane County Judge Salvatore LoPiccolo, Jr., set Avendano’s next court appearance for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29, 2021, for motions and to set a sentencing date.

In addition to his prison term, Avendano must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.

Avendano had been free on $25,000 bond. Judge LoPiccolo revoked bond upon conviction and ordered Avendano into custody at the Kane County jail.

ASA Rodgers said:

“Mr. Avendano selfishly exploited the teacher-student relationship. Sadly, the vast majority of child sexual abuse victims are preyed upon by adults they know and should be able to trust. Thankfully, when this survivor spoke up to a friend about the sexual abuse, the friend listened and told an adult. Thanks to Investigator Tim Bosshart, case manager Cindy Barrett and advocate Julie Pohlman at the Kane County Child Advocacy Center for their work on this case.”

Jury Convicts Recidivist Defendant of Possessing Child Pornography

USDoJ

A federal jury in the Eastern District of Virginia convicted a Virginia man yesterday for possession of child pornography.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, James B. Clawson Sr., 58, of Alexandria, was previously convicted of distribution of child pornography after law enforcement learned that he was serving as an administrator of an online forum dedicated to trafficking in child sexual abuse material. In 2019, while Clawson was serving a term of federal supervised release in connection with this conviction, a U.S. probation officer discovered that he was concealing a laptop computer and multiple thumb drives in his home. Clawson told the probation officer that he had built a hidden compartment in a shelving unit in his closet to conceal the devices because he did not want to have his internet activity monitored.

“James Clawson is a repeat child sex offender who has demonstrated that he cannot and will not be deterred from downloading images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children,” said Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite Jr. of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “The department is committed to working closely with our law enforcement partners to ensure that child sex offenders like Clawson will be held accountable for their crimes.”

“The evidence at trial demonstrated that the defendant’s prior conviction for distributing child pornography unfortunately did not deter him from continuing to seek out such heartbreaking and illegal images,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Raj Parekh for the Eastern District of Virginia. “Thanks to the diligent efforts of the trial team and our law enforcement partners, the defendant has been held accountable for his recidivist conduct by a jury of his peers.”

“Child exploitation sites present a grave danger to children and unprecedented challenges to the world’s law enforcement agencies,” said Assistant Director Calvin Shivers of the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division. “Today’s verdict demonstrates the FBI’s ongoing commitment to pursue individuals engaging in child exploitation offenses and secure justice for children that are victimized by this egregious conduct.”

“Recidivism is a real problem among convicted sex offenders,” said Assistant Director in Charge Steven M. D’Antuono of the FBI’s Washington Field Office. “As this jury verdict shows, the FBI is committed to bringing individuals like Clawson – who continued to exploit children even after they have been caught once – to justice no matter what it takes. The safety of our children is a priority for the FBI, and we will stop at nothing to protect them.”

Evidence presented at trial established that Clawson used the laptop to search for and repeatedly download from the internet images and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and then stored those images on one of his thumb drives. The evidence further established that Clawson sorted these child sexual abuse images on his thumb drive and assigned them files names based on the specific sexually explicit conduct they depicted.

Clawson was convicted of possession of child pornography. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 1 and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison. A federal district court judge will determine the sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The FBI investigated the case, with significant assistance from the High Technology Investigative Unit of the Justice Department Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS).

Trial Attorney William G. Clayman of CEOS and Assistant U.S. Attorney Seth M. Schlessinger of the Eastern District of Virginia are prosecuting the case.

This case was investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. The task force is composed of FBI agents, along with other federal agents and detectives from northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. The task force is charged with investigating and bringing federal charges against individuals engaged in the exploitation of children and those engaged in human trafficking.

40 Years in Prison for Windsor, Ill, Man for Child Sex Offenses

Against a 6 y/o

Published on August 27 2021 2:22 pm
Written by Greg Sapp

A Windsor man has been sentenced to a total of 40 years in prison on four counts of predatory criminal sexualt assault. The assaults were against a six-year-old child.

40-year-old Donald Ohmen was sentenced by Judge Martin Siemer to 10 years in prison for each of the offenses, but the sentences will be served consecutively, not together. The state's Truth-in-Sentencing statute indicates that Ohmen must serve at least 85% of each sentence.

So, that is a total of 34 years before parole.

During the contested hearing, Windsor Police Chief Ron Bateman testified, a video of the victim's statement was played, and two victim impact statements by family members were presented.

In imposing sentence, Judge Siemer said his primary consideration was the "unfathomable harm" caused to the victim. Ohmen will be subject to lifetime registration as a sexual predator as well as a natural life term of mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

Ohmen was arrested in November of 2020 following disclosures made by the victim. Evidence presented in court showed that the sex abuse occurred for at least two months prior to the victim's disclosure and that Ohmen warned the victim not to tell anyone. The offenses were initially reported to the Effingham Police Department and later investigated by the Windsor Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Shelby County State's Attorney Nichole Kroncke said, "A dangerous child predator has been removed from the community as a result of the collaboration of all involved in this investigation." Kroncke also appreciated the length of the sentence imposed, saying it will serve as a deterrent to others from committing similar crimes against innocent children.

Altoona, Pa, former teacher pleads guilty to sexual abuse of teen

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ)The Blair County District Attorney’s Office announced that an Altoona resident and former music teacher pled guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy in 2007.

Richard Kuiawa
, 81, pled guilty to every count charged against him including three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child less than 16-years-old and a number of other charges of aggravated assault, according to the District Attorney’s office.

The investigation began in 2018 when the victim reported his abuse to the police. The victim told police that when he was 14, Kuiawa befriended him and began giving him private music lessons in Kuiawa’s home. The victim told police that Kuiawa performed oral sex and other acts on him. Once the abuse ended, Kuiawa continued to groom and manipulate the victim, according to the District Attorney.

Kuiawa’s trial was scheduled to begin next week but he admitted to the sexual abuse he committed before the judge today. The guilty plea on all charges was offered in exchange for one to two years of incarceration with a consecutive 20 years probation.

The prison sentence reflects the victim’s wishes that Kuiawa admits to his crimes and takes responsibility for what he did, but not have a lengthy sentence that would make it so he would likely die in prison, Blair County District Attorney Peter Weeks said.

With his conviction, Kuiawa will become a Megan’s Law offender who will be required to register his address and employment information with the Pennsylvania State Police for the remainder of his lifetime. That plea was crafted in accordance with the victim’s wishes.

The case illustrates that with child sexual assault cases, it is the norm rather than the exception that disclosure is delayed, First Assistant District Attorney Nichole Smith said.

“These cases make clear that child predators are able to lurk among us in plain sight and that victims struggle in the devastation of their abuse long after the acts are over,” Weeks said.
