Convicted repeat child sex offender sentenced to life for child molestation
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KIAH) – A 42-year-old registered sex offender will be sentenced to life for molesting a child in Harris County. Manuel Enrique Arana Jr. was convicted of continuous sexual assault of a child younger than 14-years-old. An investigation by the Houston Police Department reported that Arana repeatedly assaulted a young girl for over a year, beginning when she was 7-years-old.
This was not his first conviction; in 1999, he was convicted of molesting a 12-year-old when he was 17. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He went back behind bars for failing to register as a sex offender. Then in 2013, he plead guilty to assaulting a female relative in a domestic violence situation.
“Not only was this man a habitual criminal who had been to prison before for sexually assaulting a minor, but he was a registered sex offender.”
Now, Manuel Arana Jr. will spend the rest of his life in prison with no possibility of parole.

Information provided to investigators alleged that David Drinnen had injected a 14-year-old with methamphetamine and subsequently raped her at their residence on Long Hollow Road. "During the course of this investigation, investigators uncovered additional evidence that Cayla Hopkins Drinnen offered to pay another 14-year-old female family member to perform indecent acts on David Drinnen at their home on Long Hollow Road," WVLT-TV reports. Both suspects were reported to be on probation for prior offenses at the time of these incidents.
According to the Sheriff's Office, David Drinnen is being held on a $250,000 bond for the aggravated rape charge with an additional hold without bond for failing to follow court rules, while Cayla Drinnen's bond totals $800,000. These developments come forward as the small community of Maryville is forced to reckon with a lurid narrative of abuse and manipulation.
Jail for rapist who lured girl to his home and attacked her
A rapist who lured a girl back to his house and sexually assaulted her has been jailed.
During his trial in March, the court heard that the 19-year-old - who was 18 at the time of the offence in September 2023 – persuaded his 15-year-old victim to come to his home address, where he then raped her.
Officers arrested Crosbee on the following day after the attack was reported.
He has been jailed for six years and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years, which prevents him from having contact with children under the age of 16.
Detective Constable Gemma Neighbour said: “I commend the survivor who bravely reported this horrifying ordeal which led to the capture and conviction of Crosbee.
“He intentionally preyed on and exploited a teenage girl, luring her back to his home address where he subjected her to a serious sexual assault.
“Wiltshire Police will do their utmost to ensure that those seeking to sexually exploit children and the most vulnerable in our society are brought to justice.
“It’s a sad fact that child sexual exploitation does not just take place online and can also take place in plain sight.
“We take such cases extremely seriously and we have specially trained investigators who are able to support young people in these cases, working with partner agencies to support them through the judicial process.”

Ohio father, Steve Billock, who pled guilty to 31 counts of raping an 8 year old & using her to create child sexual abuse material, has been sentenced to life in prison.
A Newton Falls man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for child pornography and other sex crimes.
“The damage that you’ve done to this minor victim again is unconscionable,” Judge Andrew Logan said. “These acts of abuse that took place and then you photographed and video’d them to be sent to other depraved and sick individuals. This is just disgusting thing, transaction that we are talking about here.”
Steven Billock, 39, was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to 31 counts including rape, attempted rape, pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor, gross sexual imposition, and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material last month.
“I hope you spend the rest of your life or the time you are in prison regretting the damage that you have done to this child and this family,” Judge Logan said. The search warrant was obtained by the sheriff’s office after receiving an investigative tip.
An 8-year-old was taken into custody by Trumbull County Children Services after he was found during execution of the search warrant. The news release states that the child has been placed into foster care.
