The president of a child sexual molestation survivors’ advocacy organization says children have been left “at risk” after his abuser, Stanley Burkhardt, was recently released from a federal halfway house with relatively few limits on his movements.
Burkhardt is a former Louisiana detective who has acknowledged preying on minors and has been investigated in connection with a series of murders. Richard Windmann said the latest opportunity at comparative freedom granted to Burkhardt – who previously investigated child abuse cases for the New Orleans police department – is “abhorrent” and “a repeated injury to his victims”.
“Those we’ve entrusted with protecting our society … put our children at risk,” Windmann, who now lives near Dallas, said in a statement. He said Burkhardt as an ex-police officer should be “held to a higher standard, and yet they repeatedly let this monster go”.

BREAKING: Former OCSO deputy now jailed
after indictment on child sex abuse charges
Orange County — A grand jury has indicted a former Orange County deputy on charges of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and Child Indecency.
The grand jury returned the indictment Wednesday against Ken Bost and an arrest warrant was issued. He's in jail as of Thursday night. A judge will arraign Bost and set bond in the morning.
Bost resigned from the Orange County Sheriff's Office effective July 3.
He spent about four years working for OCSO after previously serving as the Rose City Marshal.
In July, KFDM/Fox 4 reported a spokeswoman for the Texas Rangers confirmed an investigation into Bost at the request of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. The DPS didn't confirm the nature of the allegations.

by New Orleans Cop Dispatched to the Scene
of Her Assault Awarded $1M
Rodney Vicknair “exposed his penis to G.H. during FaceTime chats and informed her 'this is how hard you make me,'” according to the lawsuit. Then he raped G.H.
The city of New Orleans must pay $1 million to a teenager after she was raped by the police officer dispatched to the scene of her sexual assault.
The victim, G.H., is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse who met Officer Rodney Vicknair of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) in May 2020 when she was just 14 years old, according to a copy of the lawsuit filed in a Louisiana federal court by her mother and obtained by Inside Edition Digital.
At the time, Vicknair had been dispatched to the scene of a sexual assault and took G.H. to a local children’s hospital so a rape kit could be performed, according to the suit.
Vicknair allegedly started grooming the young girl that same day despite being “aware of the sexual abuse and trauma that made G. H. uniquely vulnerable to manipulation exploitation and abuse by older men in positions of authority,” the lawsuit says.
At the time it was the policy of the NOPD to dispatch a trained detective who specializes in cases of child abuse or sex crimes to the scene of any assault involving an underage victim, according to the lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, if a detective had not been dispatched, NOPD policy was that the patrol officer request one to the scene.
Vicknair was not a detective and allegedly did not request one to assist him at the scene, according to the lawsuit. Furthermore, there had been documented complaints in the past of Vicknair abusing his position and accessing police records to meet women, according to the lawsuit.
NOPD policy also said that interactions between officers and child victims should be minimal, but that was not the case between Vicknair and G.H., according to the lawsuit.
Vicknair began showing up at the victim’s home, contacting her on a near-daily basis, and even parking his patrol car on her known routes to see her, according to the lawsuit.
He also allegedly “verbally solicited sex acts from G.H.” and “requested that G.H. send him sexual pictures of herself,” according to the lawsuit.
Vicknair “exposed his penis to G.H. during FaceTime chats and informed her 'this is how hard you make me,'” according to the lawsuit.
Then he raped G.H.

Wetumka mom speaks out following former mayor’s arrest for child sex abuse allegations
WETUMKA, Okla. (KFOR) — Former Wetumka Mayor Brent McGee is behind bars after being arrested Wednesday for child sex abuse allegations.
The former Mayor was also a coach, teacher and fast-food restaurant owner.
“We got involved with the DA’s office, asked for their assistance, and we’ve been working hand in hand with them pretty much the whole time,” said Trevor Teague, Hughes County Undersheriff.
According to the affidavit, McGee is facing seven counts of child sexual abuse, along with one count of engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses.
“It’s been going on a while. As time goes on, I figure there will be more [victims] coming forward as we go along with this,” says Teague.
In the affidavit, one victim said he had a broken home and moved in with McGee and his wife for some time.
The document also states, “McGee would begin massaging him with his hands, and it progresses to where McGee would reach into his boxer shorts and touch him inappropriately.”
A Wetumka mother says it’s about time McGee was caught.
“I know these boys, I can’t tell you how heartbreaking it is,” says Sheila Armstrong. “People are finally starting to show up and stand up for these kids and the victims and be there for them.”
One Wetumka woman asked to remain anonymous. She went to school while McGee was teaching.
“We would just hear stories about him having pool parties and only the boys would be invited,” she says.
McGee’s arrest follows the arrest of another former Wetumka Mayor James Jackson which happened five years ago.
Jackson is currently in jail after a 2022 conviction on child pornography.
The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation on McGee took nearly two years.
McGee is in jail on a $350,000 dollar bond.
