The court stated that providing bail to the man accused of raping her own daughter at this level could undermine the intent of the objective, which was considered when the POCSO Act was implemented. The Act was implemented to shield children from sexual assault, harassment, and exploitation.
On Tuesday, 10th September, the Delhi High Court denied bail to a father accused of raping his 6-year-old daughter in August of last year, highlighting the often-insurmountable long-term ramifications of childhood sexual assault. “An act of sexual assault or sexual harassment has the potential to cause mental trauma to the child and may dictate their thought process for the years to come. It may hinder the normal social growth of the child and lead to various psychosocial problems which could require psychological intervention,” Justice Subramonium Prasad said.
It could also result in spiritual problems that can easily be devastating in themselves. And emotional problems that make relationships very difficult. And the list goes on and on and on.
The court stated that providing bail to the man accused of raping her own daughter at this level could undermine the intent of the objective, which was considered when the POCSO Act was implemented. The Act was implemented to shield children from sexual assault, harassment, and exploitation. Following counselling and a medical check-up, the minor informed the doctors that she had been sexually raped by her father on several occasions since February of last year.
According to the minor, the man would insert his private parts into her vagina, anus, and mouth. The judge dismissed the bail application and disregarded the father’s contention that the FIR was filed by the mother due to a marriage conflict between them.
“In the opinion of this Court, a mother would not put the life of her own daughter in jeopardy and make her suffer an investigation and question by the Magistrates and Lawyers in Court, only to get even with her husband,” the court said.
The court noted that the victim’s stand was consistent, but that the inconsistencies and minute details raised by the father’s counsel will be decided at trial. “Paramount consideration is to be given to the well-being of the child whose mental psyche is vulnerable, impressionable, and is in a developing stage. The long-term effects of childhood sexual abuse are, at many times, insurmountable,” the court concluded.
Teacher records kids, teens with cameras hidden
in school bathrooms for years, feds say
A former teacher is going to prison after federal prosecutors said he recorded children, teens and adults with cameras he installed inside bathrooms at a California high school over a span of three years.
Siu Kong Sit, who taught at Beckman High School in Irvine, hid cameras disguised as smoke detectors inside two single-occupancy bathrooms located by the school’s aquatic center, according to court documents.
The restrooms were used by students, staff and for children’s swim meets, court documents say. A plumber found one of the cameras underneath a bathroom sink when he checked a smoke detector that looked “unusual” in February 2023, according to an affidavit. Then the plumber found the second camera in the other bathroom, under the sink, the affidavit says.
“From 2020 to 2023, Sit viewed and downloaded hundreds of images of children and adults, in various states of undress, using restrooms,” prosecutors said.
Some of the children were younger than 12, according to officials.
Creating a charity so you can get access to special needs kids is about as morally obtuse as one can possibly get.
Founder of charity for disabled children charged with child sex abuse since 2010
CENTRAL FLORIDA: Officials said that the FBI arrested the founder of a nonprofit organization that supports children with disabilities on Wednesday and accused her (him?) of sexually assaulting juveniles. The Special Needs Advocacy Program (SNAP), which provides services to families and persons with disabilities in the Central Florida region, was established by James “Jamie” Grover.
The FBI’s Tampa Field Office said on Thursday that the 62-year-old man had been taken into custody following searches of his Deltona residence and his place of employment, the Seminole Town Center Mall in Sanford. Grover’s detention hearing is scheduled for September 11 and he is presently being held at the Seminole County Jail.
Targeting young boys
Grover worked at SNAP and as Group Director of Autism on the Seas, an international organization that created cruise vacations for adults and families with special needs. The FBI believes Grover targeted young boys between 2010 and the present.
A copy of the federal complaint against Grover that was submitted on Thursday to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida was made available to FOX 35 on Friday. In the allegation, Grover claimed to have sexually abused three minor victims at the beginning. At one point, all three of the kids offered to work for SNAP.
