Kansas, Okla. man sentenced to 40 years following child sex abuse charges
TULSA, Okla. — A Kansas, Oklahoma man was sentenced on Monday for two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor under 12 in Indian Country, aggravated abuse of a minor by force and threat in Indian Country, and coercion and enticement of a minor.
30-year-old Sequoyah Jo Hinzo was sentenced to 40 years followed by lifetime supervised release. Hinzo will have to register as a sex offender after release.
From 2020 through 2022, Hinzo sexually abused three kids who were six-, nine-, and 13-years-old, according to court documents.
Hinzo also made fake social media accounts to lure a child into sending sexually explicit pictures.
Hinzo is a citizen of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians and will remain in custody until transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
This case was investigated by the FBI, Kansas Police Department, and the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.
Chattanooga man held on $525k bond after indictment of
21 counts of child sex abuse
UPDATE: A Chattanooga man is being held on a $525,000 bond for 21 different counts of child sex abuse charges.
The indictment shows Adam Douglas Morgan has been ordered to have no contact with any minors.
All charges stem from incidents between January 13, 2022 and August 15, 2023.
Morgan has been indicted on the following charges:
- 10 counts of solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct
- 10 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor
- 1 count of sexual exploitation of a minor
"Especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor" - I've never heard of that before, it must be pretty serious!
