The Perverted Lives of the Rich and Famous > Steven Tyler's CSA trial to begin in August; Anna Duggar Calls Child Sexual Abuse Material a 'Victimless' Crime

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith to face trial over child sexual assault allegations

Author Benedetta Baldin - 6.5.2026

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is scheduled to go on trial in the Los Angeles County Superior Court in connection with a child sexual assault lawsuit, as per MetalInjection. In particular, Tyler has been charged with sexually abusing, grooming, and impregnating Julia Misley in the 1970s when she was 16 and he was in his mid-20s, forcing her to get an abortion. The lawsuit, which was initially filed in 2022, claims that Tyler took advantage of Misley by abusing “his role, status, and power as a well-known musician and rock star.” The goal also alludes to Tyler’s purported admission of guilt in his own memoir, “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?”, where he calls Misley his “teen bride.”

Naturally, Tyler has refuted every accusation. Because of the statute of limitations in Massachusetts, where the couple lived during their relationship, a judge dismissed the majority of the lawsuit earlier this week. Tyler was given the authority to take Misley on tours after being appointed as her legal guardian. The Child Victims Act, a 2020 law that permits alleged victims to bring lawsuits regardless of any statute of limitations, allowed the case to be filed in California despite the two reportedly travelling across multiple state lines, including stopping in the state.

This is a massive win for Steven Tyler. Today, the Court has dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims against Mr. Tyler in this case. The court has decided that only one night, 50-plus years ago, out of a three-year relationship is allowed to remain. – David Long–Daniels, Tyler’s lawyer

This reflects years of resilience and courage by Ms. Misley, driven by an unwavering pursuit of truth and justice. It is time for justice and for Tyler to be held accountable by a jury. – Jeff Anderson, Misley’s lawyer

The trial will start this upcoming August.

Anna Duggar Forwarded Josh Duggar a Message Calling Child Sexual Abuse Material a 'Victimless' Crime and His Sentence 'Ridiculous'

The message also questioned why Josh would be sentenced to over 12 years in prison for possessing child sexual abuse material

NEED TO KNOW

  • Anna Duggar forwarded an email to her husband Josh Duggar about his sentence for possessing child sex abuse material

  • "[W]hat purpose does it serve to put a citizen away for that long, especially for a crime that was actually victimless," read the message obtained by PEOPLE

  • Josh had been sentenced to 151 months in prison at that time

Anna Duggar forwarded a message to husband Josh Duggar that called the decision by a federal judge to sentence him to 151 months in prison for possessing and receiving child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) as a failure of the justice system.

"I just can't even wrap my mind around this system of ours," read the message to Josh that was obtained by PEOPLE. "[W]hat purpose does it serve to put a citizen away for that long, especially for a crime that was actually victimless?"

Josh created a "password-protected partition" on his computer to download CSAM using the dark web and online file-sharing software multiple times in 2019, according to an investigation by Homeland Security agents.

One of those agents, Gerald Faulkner, testified at Josh's sentencing hearing, and called one of the videos Josh downloaded among the "top five worst of the worst" he had ever seen because it depicted the abuse of an 18-month-old toddler.

"I am incensed by the ridiculousness of it ALL," the message later said, calling the sentence "absolutely crazy.

The person who wrote the message also said they could not understand why a "productive member of society, a business owner, a father, a husband, a taxpayer" would be sent away to prison when "our society NEEDS these far more desperately than it needs more prisoners."

The message also included a comforting psalm for Josh and multiple declarations of support.

The Department of Justice has long pushed back against claims that CSAM is a victimless crime, explaining that it often "results in the continued abuse and exploitation of child victims, and the abuse of new children every day."

Once those videos are disseminated, the "victimization continues in perpetuity" for victims who will live their entire lives knowing that "documentation of their sexual abuse is on the internet," according to the DOJ.

Many of these victims are also groomed or blackmailed into making these videos, according to the DOJ, and in some cases "feel so desperate that they commit suicide."

Anna told Josh that she presumed his sentence would be cut down to 106 months, but that has not been the case.

Josh, whose fourth and final appeal is soon to be decided by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, has actually had his prison sentence extended on three different occasions and is now scheduled to be released from FCI Seagoville in Texas on Feb. 2, 2033.
