Just want to give a shout-out to God for the nearly 400 children rescued from pornographers yesterday.
THANK YOU, LORD!!!
It will be interesting in Heaven to learn if our prayers had any part in this rescue. I don't want to be presumptuous, and yet, I know God answers prayer. He has answered so many of mine it's amazing. That you are reading this is an answer to prayer.
Here is a question for you to consider: Was Typhoon Haiyan and act of God?
There is no indication in the Bible, at least that I am aware of, that Satan has any control over the elements. But there is lots of evidence that God does. He generated many storms to defeat the enemies of the Israelites in the Old Testament. Jesus calmed the storm in the New Testament.
In 1588, the Spanish armada would have easily conquered England had they been able to make landfall. The British Navy was nowhere near strong enough to stop them. But suddenly, there arose a wind that drove the armada onto toward Calais where the English were able to send in fireships creating havoc in the fleet.
When the winds changed the Spanish made a run up the channel deciding to sail around Scotland and retreat to Spain. However, they ran into a series of storms and many ships smashed upon the rocks on the west coast of England and Scotland. Between one-third and one-half of the fleet was destroyed along with a significant number of the 30 thousand soldiers on board. Spain never again attempted to invade England.
Last year, hurricane Sandy (Superstorm Sandy) struck a Republican state, and the reaction by President Obama and Governor Christie changed the momentum of the election enabling Obama to win when it appeared a week before the election that he would lose.
The Bible says that God chooses leaders, whether we like them or not. He doesn't necessarily put someone in power who will be the best leader for us Christians. Nevertheless, we need to respect that leader just because God put him there.
But back to my question, Was Typhoon Haiyan and act of God? The question begs another question: Why would God do that? Well, of course, it is very presumptuous of us to think we can explain why God does anything; He is so far above us. Nevertheless, we can pose possibilities.
Is it possible that God sent that storm across the Philippines because there are 100,000 children in the sex trade in that country. And thanks to internet pornography, child abuse is increasing by the day. Indonesia also claims 100,000 children in the sex/pornography trade.
These two island archipelagos are, arguably, are the worst countries in the world for child sex abuse. At one time this week, 30 cities were without power after the storm. Some cities are completely destroyed and it will be years before they return to normal. Meanwhile, internet pornography cannot be produced in those cities, sparing hundreds and perhaps thousands of children from sex abuse.
What do you think? Am I out to lunch here?
