Four men, ages 32, 18, 18, & 17, are on trial in the UK for sexual exploitation of children. The oldest, Shakil Munir, from Middlesbrough, northeast England, denied having sex with a 14-year-old in his cab at a parking spot on the A19, after exchanging explicit messages on Facebook.
The prosecution said the girl had asked Mr Munir to pick her up and take her to a garage so she could buy cigarettes. Instead, the court heard on Monday, he stopped on the A19 and got her to perform a sex act before they had full intercourse.
Mr Munir, of Tollesby Road, denies child abduction and five counts of having sex with a child. After denying he had sex with the 14 year old, he then stated that he thought she was 16. What would it matter if she was 14 or 16 if he didn't have sex with her?
His co-accused, 18 year-olds Junaid Butt and Ibrar Mahmood, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, also deny all the charges against them.
The trial continues.
