Artist's Sketch of UBC Sex Assault Suspect

The RCMP have released a sketch of the suspect in a series of sex assaults at UBC that occurred between April and October. Several young women have been assaulted on the campus of the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Please pray that someone would recognize this man and report him to the police.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid-to-late 20s or early 30s with slightly darker or olive skin, possibly tanned.

He is also described as having a thin build, a longer, round chin and face with a straight nose, broad forehead, and short, dark hair, said a Tuesday news release from the RCMP.

"We are again urging the public to contact us with any and all information that may assist in identifying this suspect," RCMP spokesman Sgt. Peter Thiessen said in a statement.

UBC students, staff and residents have been placed on high alert after a number of women reported being sexually assaulted by an assailant while walking home at night.

The most recent incident took place when a young woman reported being attacked while walking alone from Gage Hall on Student Union Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m. when someone suddenly grabbed her from behind on Oct. 27. The attacker fled after she flailed her arms.

The RCMP's Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation of the assaults.

Meanwhile, UBC has stepped up Campus Security patrols around student residences and is encouraging people to use the SafeWalk program, which is providing escorted walks between campus buildings from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. until Nov. 17.

The program's hours were extended from their regular 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. shifts after the incidents.
