Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson speaks during an interview as her mother, June Shannon, looks on in her home in McIntyre, Georgia |
The cable station is putting the blame on the matriarch for the show’s cancellation.
Sources close to the show tell TMZ that TLC’s biggest concern is the welfare of Honey Boo Boo and the other children and they are upset their mother has put them at risk by allegedly dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel.
The network, citing a morals clause, believes June does not deserve full payment so they have deducted a significant amount from what she would have received if the show had aired.
However the children will be paid in full as will Sugar Bear and Uncle Poodle.

The horrifying saga of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch Mama June dating the man who molested her daughter Anna becomes increasingly disturbing. After initially believing her mother would never have anything to do with the man who spent 10 years in prison for molesting her, Anna reveals she confronted her mother about the dangers of Mark being around her younger sisters, particularly Alana Thompson who is 9-years-old. Anna was 8 when Mark molested her.
Anna told June, “‘You know, he’s a child molester, Mama. He did this to me. Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did? And reportedly done it to another girl? And Mama was like, ‘Oh, he never done it to another girl.’” Anna confronted June with her concerns about him being near hear younger sisters Jessica, Lauren, and Alana. Lauren “Pumpkin” had witnessed Mark’s abuse against Anna when she was only 3-years-old.
“Mama’s not supposed to be around him!” a disgusted, and sobbing, Anna added. “She just knows! And she let him get around ‘Lana and Pumpkin!”
