Utah man arrested for reported
child sex abuse of autistic boys
Ryan Olson Daily Herald A man residing in Midvale, Utah was arrested by Pleasant Grove police Saturday on suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of two boys with autism.
Police investigated Cody Glenwood Ball, 25, after the boys' father gave a report last month. During a forensic interview with police Wednesday, the boys — both under the age of 11 — said Ball touched their genitals under their clothing while they were under a blanket, according to police reports.
The younger child reportedly said it happened to him multiple times while the other said it happened once. The younger child also reportedly said Ball had him touch Ball's genitals.
Officers interviewed Ball after he had been arrested on an unrelated warrant out of St. George for felony drug possession. After being advised of his rights, Ball reportedly said he had sexual contact with the younger child on four occasions, but denied ever touching the older child.
Reports state Ball said he was intoxicated during the incidents and wasn't thinking clearly. He also reportedly said he knew the children were under 18, had autism and that his actions were wrong.
Officers arrested Ball on suspicion of four first-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child by a person in a position of trust.

Dennis Patrick Meehan Hughes dabbed at tears, apologizing and expressing remorse for his actions, as a crowd of friends and colleagues sat in attendance.
U.S. District Judge George C. Hanks Jr. then sentenced him to 7 years in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Hughes must register as a sex offender, and adhere to restrictions on access to children and the internet, the judge said.
Hughes, 50, of Pearland, pleaded guilty in March to all three charges against him -- accessing, receiving and possession of child pornography.
"It's, obviously, been a real tragedy," said his lawyer, Neal Davis. "It's a very sad case. We're grateful that the judge recognized that Dennis Hughes has made great strides in atoning for what happened. He has great promise to still do great things as a research scientist."

The investigation that began in August after agents received a cyber-tip that led them to Plascjak’s mobile home on Falls Church Road.
Officials said they found more than “100 images (of child porn), including videos” of “infants, toddlers and preteens exposing themselves.” When searching Plascjak’s cellphone, police said images of “infants being sexually assaulted” were found.
Plascjak was arrested in November.
"It blows me away, just blows me away,” Nancy Milligan, a neighbor, said.
Plascjak allegedly admitted to the crime, telling police it was a “coping mechanism because she was molested when she was younger."
Police said Plascjak told them she had more porn but deleted it before she underwent surgery because she didn’t want anyone to find it if something went wrong.
