Over 30 minors raped, videotaped in Faisalabad

Pakistan Today

Over 30 minor boys have reportedly been raped and videotaped in Samundri in Faisalabad district, according to local news report on Saturday.

Per the report, three separate FIRs [First Information Report] have been registered against three individuals — Mohsin Ali, Ahad Jutt and Abdur Rehman — for sexually abusing young boys and documenting their perverse actions in pictures and video.

Residents of Chak 222 – where the alleged incident is said to have taken place – have said that over 30 children in the village have fallen prey to sexual abuse, the report stated.

According to the FIRs, the accused forced the victims into silence, blackmailing them with videos and photos of the abuse.

The police reportedly recovered the illicit videos and photos during an investigation which they started after an FIR was registered at Tarkhani police station. One suspect has been arrested while other members of the “gang” remain at large.

The report stated that the entire matter was brought to light after a local shop owner discovered the illicit material on the laptop of one the accused.

Tarkhani police station SHO Zafar Shahid said that the head of the gang, Mohsin, is currently out on interim bail while raids are being conducted to arrest the others.

The report further claimed that only three of the 30 victims have come forward to lodge complaints, while five victims in total have been identified.

Muslim cleric arrested in Pakistan
for sexually molesting student

ISLAMABAD: A cleric has been arrested for sexually molesting a madrassa student in Pakistan's Punjab province, according to a media report.

A case was registered against the cleric on the complaint of the 12-year-old victim's father, the Dawn newspaper reported.

The cleric was arrested on Friday after the medical examination of the child proved sexual abuse, police said.

"All measures will be taken to investigate the case on merit, including conducting a DNA test and other legal formalities," Superintendent of Police Rai Mazhar Iqbal, said.

Police is also investigating whether the cleric molested any other child, the report said.

Child abuse: Another minor abducted from Kasur, Pakistan

KASUR: Another child was abducted from Punjab’s Kasur area on Thursday night, adding to the ever-growing cases of child abduction in the city.

Kasur, Pakistan

According to details, two motorcycle riders attempted to abduct two children from Hashim Chowk, however, after being followed, the motorists left one of the boys behind in a state of unconsciousness.

As of reporting time, the other child was still missing, while the other left behind was shifted to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital.

Police said the minor under treatment at the hospital has been changing his statement. Authorities further said no one has come forward about the alleged abduction of the other child.

The recent abduction case comes after the remains of at least three of the four children who went missing from the city's Chunian locality were found earlier this week.

All three were brutally raped before being buried underground, police said, triggering fear in the city.

Police said, 12-year-old Imran of Rana Town had gone missing on June 1, eight-year-old Ali Hasnain and nine-year-old Salman in August, and eight-year-old Faizan on September 16. Only Faizan's complete body was recovered, whereas the bones of the remaining two were recovered from sand dunes in the Chunian Industrial Area.

Although only Faizan was identified since his complete body was recovered, the identities of the other two children would be confirmed once the results of the DNA test would be made available.

Kasur missing children's remains found, at least three were raped before death

12-year-old Imran of Rana Town was still missing.

Prime Minister Imran Khan after taking notice of the incident announced a major overhaul in the local police set up in Kasur, as horrific cases of child sexual abuse continued to surface in the Punjab district.

In a tweet, PM Imran said the District Police Officer (DPO), Kasur Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, and SHO in Kasur had been removed and that a major change in the local police ranks was on the cards, a day after three minor children missing for months were found raped and murdered.

The PM said that in relation to the Kasur incident, there will be accountability for all, adding that those who do not perform in the interest of the common man will be taken to task.

126 cases of child sexual abuse recorded in Punjab

Punjab registered an alarming number of child sexual abuse cases over the past seven months, records indicated.

Punjab police, citing its records, said at least 126 child sexual abuse cases were registered in the last seven months, depicting a concerning rise in the incidents of sexual violence in the province.

Police further said some 129 alleged rapists were named in 126 first information reports (FIRs) registered over child sexual abuse at various police stations across Punjab.

Ex-church councillor among four charged in
violent child sex abuse ring in Finland

Police said that a central aspect of the suspects' modus operandi involved inflicting harm and violence on children.

Authorities in Ostrobothnia, western Finland have charged four persons suspected of involvement in a large-scale cross-border child sex abuse case that involved violence and the rape of minors.

The suspected crimes were committed between 2007 and 2014 while other offences relating to pornographic images involving children dated from 2007 to 2017. Investigators had originally zeroed in on six suspects during their probe, but charges were eventually laid against four of the men.

The main suspect in the case has been charged with possession and aggravated dissemination of indecent images of children, aggravated child sex abuse, child sex abuse and aggravated rape.

Another suspect has been charged with aggravated child sex abuse and aggravated rape as well as possession of and aggravated dissemination of indecent images of children.

A third was charged with aggravated child sexual abuse.

Authorities charged a fourth suspect with charges of possession of indecent images of children as well as other offences.

One of the defendants is likely to be fined for the charges levied, while officials have decided not to prosecute another. The defendants have largely denied the charges against them or have not commented on them.

Police: Harm and violence against children weighed

In March, police described the central feature of the investigation as involving "child harm and violence against children."

"In its mildest form the abuse that occurred in Finland involved showing adult pornography to children. In the worst cases, children were drugged and raped for 10 hours," lead investigator Sanna Springare said at the time.

District prosecutor Jaana Nyrhinen did not divulge additional details about the charges laid. While she admitted that some children had been drugged, she declined to identify the narcotics used.

The National Bureau of Investigation NBI said that the international investigation has been expansive. "There are more than 400 hours of abuse material. The majority of these acts target foreign individuals whose identities could not be determined," Nyrhinen noted.

However investigators said that they have been able to identify victims in Finland. Police reported earlier that their ages ranged from six to 15 years old.

Prosecutor requests secrecy

The prosecutor has a requested closed-door hearings as well as officially sealing the court documents as well as the verdicts. He said that the trial would likely begin next year.

Police first revealed that they were investigating the large-scale case back in March. Some of the suspects under police scrutiny were suspected of disseminating child pornography, some of which involved physical abuse and rape of child victims.

According to information obtained by Yle, the main suspect has worked as a church councillor and entrepreneur and reportedly had an unblemished reputation before the suspected crimes were publicised.

The preliminary investigation revealed six victims, ranging in age from pre-schoolers to upper comprehensive school children.

Pensioner guilty of Worcester child sex abuse
Sentenced to 16 Years
By James Connell
Worcester News

A PENSIONER has been convicted of sexually abusing a child during the 1970s and faces a long prison sentence.

Philip Oliver claimed his victim was 'lying' about the abuse she suffered in Dines Green, in Worcester but the jury believed her, not him.

The diminutive 70-year-old was found guilty by a jury of sexual intercourse with a child under 13, four indecent assaults and four counts of indecency with a child between 1974 and 1980.

The stooped, bespectacled pensioner, flanked by two dock officers, showed no emotion as the unanimous guilty verdicts were delivered at Worcester Crown Court shortly after 4pm yesterday. Oliver was cleared of two indecent assaults between 1971 and 1973.

During the trial the victim said Oliver, a former Worcester milkman and porter, laughed at her when she first confronted him about the abuse and said: "Is that all you've got to say?"

She described his furry tongue and smelly breath, the stench of fags, his 'horrible' big brown fingernails and the sensation of being smothered.

The victim thought the condoms he used during the abuse were 'balloons'.

The most serious or 'lead offence' of which he now stands convicted is sexual intercourse with a child under 13. If the offence were committed today it would be automatically categorised as a rape, the court was told.

The offence has a starting point in the sentencing guidelines of 13 years with an additional mandatory year on licence.

James Dunstan, for the prosecution, said the abuse involved severe psychological harm and the child was particularly vulnerable. He previously described the abuse as 'appalling' and 'ruinous'.

Judge Nicolas Cartwright said there was also planning involved including arrangements made by Oliver for contraception.

Adam Western, for Oliver, said his client had been married for 27 years and had lived a 'quiet life'. "My submissions are an invitation to your Honour to be merciful to this 70-year-old who now faces the prospect of prison for the first time.

"The man you are sentencing is very different from the man in the 1970s and early 1980s. In the 30 or 40 years since he has led a blameless life. There has been no suggestion since of any inappropriate conduct whatsoever."

Mr Western also said prison would bear much harder upon him than other inmates and said Oliver had been supported by his wife throughout the trial. "I invite your Honour to consider the effect on her as she faces her senior years alone," said Mr Western.

Judge Cartwight said he would sentence Oliver today when the victim is set to read out her victim personal statement in court.

He sentenced him to 16 years in prison.

The judge told Oliver he had 'jettisoned' the victim once the abuse had finished and had spent his life away from those he damaged.

"Though you must have been looking over your shoulder all these years, the fact is you have enjoyed a life that hasn't had with it the emotional trauma you inflicted upon your victim and you have had decades of enjoyment out of life which she has been entirely denied by virtue of the damage you did.

"The fact so much time has passed is little mitigation because you have had the benefit of those years."

He told Oliver, of Wilson Road, Shurdington, near Cheltenham, he could have admitted what he did when he was confronted by the victim or when he was interviewed after she first reported it to police in 1993. Oliver would not then be in the dock at the age of 70.

The judge remanded him in custody overnight. As a convicted sex offender notification and registration provisions now apply.

Insane social media posts urge dads to  mass child abduction and reporting their mothers for sexual abuse

By AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIATED PRESS

A group of fathers has urged more than 19,000 members to abduct their children in a coordinated strike that would reduce the ability of law enforcement to respond.

The group, Domestic Violence Against Men, posted the call to action asking Australian fathers to 'grab their kids' on December 1 and take them interstate.

The post, made by an administrator of the Facebook group, was published on an open Facebook group on September 12 and is still live on Facebook.

The post reads: 'On the 1st of December every father must grab their kids and run to another state, then report the mother for sexual abuse.'

Fathers were urged in a subsequent post to run as far as they could and to make false claims about the mother. The following day an administrator of the group posted that the mass abduction would attract media coverage.

'We are going to make headlines no matter what it takes, no one gives a shite about how we are affected or why we #suicide,' he said.

The page purports to be a voice for silenced male victims of domestic violence.

The group has welcomed the announced parliamentary inquiry into family law and features many posts highlighting One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, who was controversially appointed deputy chairman of the inquiry.

Following the announcement of the inquiry, several members of the same group wrote warnings to Prime Minister Scott Morrison of an epidemic of suicide and violence if the inquiry failed to do what was right by them.

The owner of the Domestic Violence Against Men page alleges he is a victim of domestic violence and claims he has been falsely accused of committing domestic violence.

When alerted to the group's call for a mass child abduction, Australian Federal Police would not confirm if police were aware of the threat or if any action has been taken.

But AFP media officer Katie Casling said the AFP was aware of a number of groups that advocated for all sides of family law matters. 'The AFP encourages all parties to resolve Family Law issues in accordance with the best interests of the children involved and the law,' she said.

Ms Casling said anyone with concerns about offensive content on social media should contact the social media platform.

However, if anyone had concerns regarding the safety or welfare of a child or any other person, they should contact 000 or their local police, their lawyer or the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

What a pathetic bunch. They're planning on abducting their own children, destroying their children's mother's lives, so they can get some attention that they are already getting. It's not bad enough that you have left your children, now you want to completely destroy them for selfish reasons. Anyone who carries through with this madness is not fit to be a father. Suck it up; be a man!

Kik Had a Huge Child Predator Problem
Now It's Shutting Down
By Emma Ockerman
Vice

Kik, the anonymous messaging app once considered a haven for child predators, is shutting down after an SEC complaint over the company’s separate cryptocurrency venture.

It’s unclear when the app, previously valued at as much as $1 billion, will officially close, and it’s still available for download. But all of the approximately 100 staff charged with running Kik will be let go, according to the BBC. Hundreds of millions of people currently use the app, which launched in 2010 and quickly drew allegations of fostering a criminal community due to its anonymity and popularity with kids.

A 2017 Forbes investigation unearthed several cases where child predators used Kik to abuse kids or share their abuse with fellow predators. For instance, a man pleaded guilty in 2016 to taking sexual photos of a 2-year-old, which he then shared with other Kik criminals. And one BBC investigation discovered the app had played a role in nearly 1,100 child sexual abuse cases in the U.K. over a five-year period.

In 2016, a 13-year-old was even murdered by two men she met on Kik, leading some parents to scrutinize the app’s widespread popularity. Kik worked with investigators to provide information that led to the murderer’s arrests, according to the New York Times.

The FBI has since taken over some suspects’ Kik profiles to infiltrate child pornography rings and stop further abuse, according to Forbes. As is often the case, it’s likely that predatory communications will just shift elsewhere after Kik’s closure. In recent months, there’s been increased attention on the sexual messages sent on more popular apps like TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat.

In the meantime, the feds might lose a tool they’ve grown accustomed to using.

But the messaging app isn’t shutting down over any past allegations of abuse. In fact, Kik Interactive’s chief executive, Ted Livingston, didn’t so much as mention the app’s problematic history in a Medium post Monday night. Instead, the post focused on the company’s more recent trouble with its cryptocurrency, Kin, launched in 2017 through an initial coin offering.

The Securities and Exchange Commission sued Kik in June, alleging the company had skirted investor-protection laws through that $100 million fundraising round, according to the Wall Street Journal.

“Going forward, our 19-person team will be focused on one goal: getting millions of people to buy Kin to use it,” Livingston wrote.

Concern over groups of teens exploiting younger children in Plymouth, UK
By Edward Oldfield
Plymouth Live

Experts say Plymouth appears to be free from organised child sex abuse on the scale of cases seen in other English cities.

Of course not, there are hardly any Pakistani Muslims in Plymouth. That's who is driving 95% of large-scale child sex exploitation in the UK.

But the city has had several “small-scale” investigations into child exploitation including County Lines drugs gangs.

And there have been concerns over groups of teenagers exploiting younger teens by getting them to shoplift or buy alcohol in return for drugs.

The update was given in a report to a city council scrutiny committee on work to tackle child exploitation.

Siobhan Wallace of the council’s children, young people and families service said: “I think the big question on everybody’s minds a few years ago was the anxiety around has Plymouth got a large scale problem with child exploitation in the way that Rotherham, or Oxford or Bristol had, that hadn’t been discovered.”

She said a lot of work had been done to look through records and talk to young people who might be at risk.

Ms Wallace said: “I have to say we haven’t found anything in Plymouth on that context, but we mustn’t be complacent, because we do know it can happen anywhere in any community.”

The Bristol case resulted in the conviction in 2014 of a group of around a dozen men for sexual offences against  teenage girls, some under local authority care.

The city council report said it was hard to put a figure on how many children might be at risk of exploitation in Plymouth. At any one time the service was working with around 70 children, ranging from very low risk to serious concern.

The report said there had been concern over the last year of groups of teenagers aged 15-16 exploiting younger teens. The 13-14 age group had been encouraged in exchange for drugs to shoplift to order or travel to Cornwall, where they were not known, to buy alcohol.

The report said agencies in Plymouth had a good track record of working closely and creatively to address the concerns. It said a new screening tool had been developed for professionals concerned about potential child exploitation.

The report said: “This will support better intelligence gathering about prevalence and types of child exploitation in Plymouth.”

A police study showed the most widespread form of exploitation in Plymouth was ‘peer-on-peer’. A lot of cases occurred at parties or in parks and often children did not recognise it as abuse.

The extent was still unknown because of a lack of awareness and recognition of the issue. Feedback from young people was now being used to develop education work.

The report said there had been limited evidence of County Lines drug activity in Plymouth, although there had been several recent incidents where young outsiders had been arrested and found to be involved in the drug supply network. There were also isolated cases of vulnerable young people being drawn in.
