Scotland: The Most Popular Name for Rapists
is Mohammed
The most popular name for male rapists in Scotland is Muhammad (or Mohammed, or variant spellings thereof). You could be forgiven for thinking that in such a land, the most popular names for any kind of criminal might by Angus or Archie or Donald, etc. This is quite an accomplishment by Muslims, whose population density in Scotland is allegedly hovering around the 2% mark. We always see in the newspapers that the most popular boys’ name for any given year in London or England as a whole is Mohammed.
Rapist jailed after attack 10 years ago
JUSTICE caught up with a sex attacker yesterday more than 10 years after he raped a woman with Down's syndrome, writes Bruce McKain, Law Correspondent.
Lord Abernethy jailed Mohammed Aslam, 38, for four years and told him:
''The fact that in this case the victim was a young woman with a medical condition shows it was a particularly mean and cowardly offence.''
Aslam denied rape but was convicted by a jury last month of raping the woman, now 33, in a house in Edinburgh on April 13, 1983.
The Judge was told at the High Court in Edinburgh that the woman was walking home when Aslam approached and persuaded her to go with him to a house which belonged to one of his relatives.
Once inside the house, he forced the woman to lie on the floor and removed her clothes before raping her.
Apart from the evidence of identification by the victim, Aslam, of Rossie Place, Edinburgh, was linked to the rape by DNA evidence.
Muslim man rapes sleeping woman
A civil service executive officer has been jailed for four years for raping a sleeping woman and indecently assaulting another.
Aadam Mohammad, 30, carried out a sex attack and rape at a house in Perth. His victim was unconscious at the time.
Mohammad, of Roman Road, Almondbank, had denied assaulting the victim – while she was asleep and incapable of giving or withholding consent – by pulling down her lower clothing and raping her in December 2009.
But he was found guilty by a jury at Edinburgh High Court last month.
He was also convicted of indecently assaulting another woman in a car in Perthshire on an occasion between October 2009 and October the following year.
The father-of-one was acquitted of a further charge of raping a third woman.
A delivery driver raped a drunk teenager
Mohammed Maqsood, 36, was jailed for six years after luring the vulnerable 18-year-old with the promise of a lift home.
Scotland’s most senior judge, Lord Carloway, threw out Maqsood’s claim that he was the victim of a miscarriage of justice and ruled that he should stay behind bars.
Lord Carloway, sitting with two other judges, said his victim had been too drunk to consent to sex. The judges also threw out Maqsood’s claim that the trial judge had misdirected the jury.
The appeal judges were told that Maqsood had spotted his victim leaving a pub in Shawlands, Glasgow, with a friend, also 18.
After carrying out the attack in a car park several miles away, he dumped the frightened young woman semi-naked in the street. She was found by her mother and boyfriend.
CCTV showed Maqsood, who did not know the teenagers, parking outside a pub where they had been drinking before offering them a lift. Dad Maqsood admitted having sex with the girl but claimed it was consensual and had been initiated by her.
But Lord Carloway rejected his claims, saying: “The Crown contended that the complainer was incapable of consent as a result of the effects of alcohol, that incapacity does require proof.
Waiting for a drunkin girl to come out of a pub is the act of a predator.
Palestinian rapes sex worker
A Palestinian man who was convicted of raping a woman in Glasgow and attacking another has been jailed for five years.
Failed asylum seeker Mohammed Al Dehshari, 28, raped the 30-year-old, who had been working as a prostitute, in Washington Street in October 2012.
He was caught after his DNA was found on the victim and later connected to an attack on another prostitute at a flat in Sighthill 18 months earlier.
Dehshari was ordered to be supervised for three years after his release. He was also placed on the sex offenders' list indefinitely.
Muslim rapes young girls in park
Mohammed Kiche, 19, pounced on the 15 year-old in January 2017 then stopped her yelling for help.
The young victim later bravely revealed to a friend what happened at Callendar Park, Falkirk, Stirlingshire.
Kiche, of Hallglen, near Falkirk, was remanded in custody pending sentencing in the New Year.
Jurors heard how the 15 year-old girl had only met Kiche once before.
The pair were with others when Kiche suggested going to Callendar Park. It was at the park the burly attacker pushed the girl over a bench and sexually assaulted her.
“She told him to get off and that she did not want to do it. He had his hands on top of hers...she struggled with him. What chance did she have given the relative size of them both.”
The scared victim shouted for her friend, but Kiche slapped his hand over her mouth.
The girl then sat on the bench after the attack. The victim later told the her friend what happened. She was described as “crying” and had to be “calmed down”.
Kiche had also been charged with raping a 14 year-old at the same park a week earlier. But, jurors returned a not proven verdict on that accusation.
Rapists preyed on Grindr app dates
Vic Rodrick
The Times
A car mechanic and a teenager who described themselves as “two discreet lads” on the Grindr dating app raped two men after being invited to their homes.
Mohammed Khan, 28, and a 17-year-old Slovakian citizen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, preyed on their victims after contacting them on the dating site for gay and bisexual men. The pair were convicted of rape by a jury at the High Court in Livingston.
The teenager, along with Julius Horvath, 20, from Glasgow, and Afzaal Hassan, 20, from West Calder, were also found guilty of attacking and robbing another man. All four had denied the charges against them.
Judge Lord Uist told the jury: “This is not a case that anyone would have volunteered to be involved in because of the sordid and distasteful evidence which we all had to listen to.”
He remanded the four in custody until he passes sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh on May 17. He told the men: “You have been convicted by the jury of serious offences. You may take it that those convictions will result in significant custodial sentences.”
Seriously! This is Scotland; I have yet to see a 'significant' custodial sentence.
During the trial, a 30-year-old man living in the Greater Pollok area of Glasgow told the court that Khan and the teenager turned up at his home on September 3 last year after chatting with him on Grindr. A consensual sex act took place between the witness and the teenager, before Khan grabbed him and pushed him against a wall while the teenager raped him.
Also in September, the pair’s second victim, a 20-year-old student living in halls of residence, was threatened with violence before Khan forced him to perform oral sex on him.
The man who was robbed, Craig Farrell, 40, said that Hassan had promised “sexual fun” on August 7 last year. He picked Hassan and the teenager up at Cathcart Road in Glasgow and was directed to drive to Tradeston Industrial Estate. They were having a cigarette there, he said, when Horvath arrived in a car with “Khan’s Autos” livery and walked up to him.
Mr Farrell said that he was offered drugs but when he refused, Horvarth “threw a punch at me and he was like: ‘Give us your money, you poofter’.”
He told the jury he ran away but was chased by the three men, who brandished poles and lengths of wood. They cornered him and attacked him, causing him to suffer an injury on his elbow that later required surgery. He said he still suffered pain from the injury.
Giving evidence in his own defence, Khan admitted that he was not openly gay because fellow Asians “would probably not accept someone who was homosexual”.
A rapist, on the other hand, is no problem.
Khan and the teenager will both have their names added to the sex offenders register.
With 2% of Scotlanders Muslim, and probably about half of them named Mohammed, that means that 1% of Scots are responsible for, possibly, a majority of sexual assaults. I have seen no statistics to support the claim in the first paragraph; it may well be an exaggeration. Nevertheless, the issue remains regardless of the actual numbers.
Muslim men believe they are entitled to rape women for any number of reasons. Mohammed, himself, is quoted in the Quran giving them permission. Most governments don't make the link between Islam and the rape and abuse of young UK girls by Muslim men. They choose to ignore it because there is no easy solution. The exception is Maajid Nawaz, a brilliant and courageous Muslim talk show host.
