Victim of Gang-Rape Loses it in an Indian Court
> 14 Days in Jail
Musab Omer
Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

"A gang-rape survivor, who yelled in court possibly because of a nervous breakdown after waiting for three hours in a dingy corridor in close proximity with an alleged accomplice of the rapists, has been sent to jail for 14 days in Bihar, a member of a civil society organisation has said."

Re-victimisation of rape survivors is not an alien subject in India. The judicial processes are so exhaustive that any survivor of rape may lose his or her cool during the process. I remember when I testified against the Kashmir's most notorious known child rapist - #AijazSheikh, I was made to wait for at least 4 hours before I got a chance to get my statement recorded. During that time, I felt extreme anxiety and fear and was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. It was a mission to keep myself calm and maintain my composure.

During the testimony, Sheikh was smiling quite frequently and his lawyer laughed a couple of times. Imagine, your abuser and his lawyer laughing at you when you are sharing the worst experience of your life. Any survivor may lose it.

I, myself, nearly lost it during the cross examination, when Sheikh's lawyer asked me a question and I didn't understand, so I asked him to repeat the question. He asked the question again and I didn't understand again. I asked him to repeat it once again and then the third time again. He got angry and while yelling at me, he said, "are you illiterate, why don't you understand what am I asking?" I lost it there for a second and shouted in anger, "yes, I am illiterate". All of a sudden he calmed down and with a smile on his face, he asked the man who was recording the statement to note down that the witness claims to be illiterate.

I was like, my God, what the hell is happening?

All I want to say here is that there is no rocket science needed to understand the plight of this gang-rape survivor who ended up "misbehaving" in the court. The judicial processes in India are so painful and dirty that any survivor may lose it while getting his or her statement recorded. If anyone deserves to be in jail in such cases, it has to be the perpetrator only.

Perhaps some of the lawyers should be imprisoned as well.

Kulgam, Kashmir: Woman accuses three govt teachers of kidnapping and raping her, one arrested

By News Desk

The woman has alleged that she was forcibly taken to the orchards and raped

Kulgam: A woman in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district has alleged that she was kidnapped and then raped by three government teachers.

The woman (name withheld) approached the police station with a written complaint in which she alleged that three government teachers yesterday evening (July 5th) took her to the orchards and raped her.

The woman has identified the accused teachers as Hilal Ahmed Dar son Abdul Rahid of the same Chachmulla village, Nazir Ahmed Shah son of Mohiuddin Shah of Gandwani village, and Amir Farooq Wani of same Gandwani village.

All the accused are posted at Government Middle School Gandwani of Damhal Hanjipora.

Local police has said that a case with FIR No 109/2020 U/S 366,376 IPC was registered and investigation was set into motion.

A police official said that one of the accused Hilal Dar has been arrested while efforts are on to nab the remaining two.

In this regard, locals at Chachmulla Damhal Hanjipora village have staged a protest demanding stringent punishment to the culprits. They demand arrest of those two accused who are still at large.

Meanwhile, Police in a statement said that on July 5, 2020 Police Station DH Pora received a complaint that a girl (name withheld) was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by 3 persons. It was mentioned that the prime accused is from village Chachimullah while the other two are from Gandwani.

Upon receiving of the complaint, Police accordingly filed a case with FIR No 109/2020 U/S 366,376 IPC and investigation was set into motion.

Around 24, hours later, a police team from DH Pora police station, arrested the main accused and searches for the other two are going on.

Police added that there are rumours being floated that police has let off the accused persons or that the medical examiner was trying to convince the victim to change her statement. The rumours are baseless and are being propagated to create unrest.

In case someone has specific information with respect to the rumours the same may be communicated to police so that necessary action can be taken.

We’re just a pile of misery’: Victims of Germany’s child molesting ‘experiment’ tell of their nightmare that lives on

Decades ago, they fought for survival every single day – now they have to motivate themselves to live. RT listened to heartbreaking memories of two German men placed in the foster care of a known pedophile by Berlin authorities.

Last month, a damning report by Germany’s University of Hildesheim revealed that the Berlin Senate orchestrated a crackpot scheme that saw vulnerable children being placed in the care of known pedophiles for decades.

Kentler - mad scientist embraced by progressive liberals
This was a part of a harrowing “experiment” by controversial sexologist Helmut Kentler, whose perverted teachings claimed that sexual contact with adults does no harm to children. Pedophiles taking care of them would only “emancipate” their “sexuality,” as Kentler repeatedly put it in countless books and on TV.

He earned fame as a “progressive visionary” and became the darling of left-wing politicians, including West Berlin Mayor Willy Brandt, the future German chancellor.

Two victims of Kentler’s “experiment,” identified as Marco and Sven, told RT that it “was like we were being put up for sale.”

Their future foster father, Fritz H. as he came to be known in the German media, was kind and “tried to win us over” when they first met – perhaps like a hunter not wanting to scare away his prey.

He seemed to be friendly, unlike the real him.

Then it was whether he wanted to take us or not. We were not asked, we simply had to go,” Marco said. For him, the years-long nightmare began in a hospital where he first met Fritz, who Kentler described as an “expert” in child care. “A month later I was in his care. I didn’t even know I had been sent there,” he revealed.

What the boys didn’t know either was that the man was actually a convicted pedophile who lived alone in West Berlin. His criminal record didn’t stop the city youth welfare authorities from placing vulnerable children in his care on numerous occasions between the early 1970s and 2003.

Fritz’s victims – some as young as six or seven – suffered unspeakable horrors while at his mercy. Several were sexually abused and raped, with one disabled boy dying in his care.

Both Marco and Sven said living with the pedophile was “a daily battle to survive.” The “total psychopath” would viciously exploit their greatest fears to force them into doing “things we wouldn’t normally do.”

It was ‘If you don’t do this, you’ll go back to orphanage’ or ‘If you don’t do what I want, you can eat rubbish out of the bin again.’

The victims were told there was nothing criminal in the abuse as “he is our father and we were young.” Yelling and punching was part of the boys’ everyday routine, which sometimes resembled the practices of an oppressive cult.

“He always said he didn’t beat us but the devil in us,” Marco said, adding that the physical violence tied them even stronger to their abuser. Both men agreed that “the worse the treatment, the more you felt this person was important to you” – textbook tactics totalitarian sects are said to use on members.

Marco and Sven spent years in total isolation. Fritz didn’t give them a proper education as he would have lost his caretaker status; he also prevented them from acquiring basic social skills like paying bills or renting an apartment. But there’s something more appalling that is “buried deep in our subconscious,” they say.

Every day you fight with yourself and have to motivate yourself to want to live on. When you lie in bed in the evening and these memories overwhelm you, sometimes you don’t want to live.

"Our lives have been destroyed, we are unable to work and we have become aware that we are just a pile of misery,” Marco said, with Sven adding bitterly, “I was and am a product of a child molester.”

The two men tried to hold accountable those who they say were complicit in ruining their lives, namely, executives of the Berlin Senate. But they are now waging an uphill battle, it turns out. The Senate tried to offer them €10,000 in compensation but seemed reluctant to press any charges.

Both victims are skeptical about the notorious report by the University of Hildesheim. Their experts were approved by the Senate itself, which seems “like a robber investigating his own robbery,” Sven said. He insisted there must be a further probe into “one of the greatest crimes of the post-war era.”

Khairpur teacher arrested for allegedly raping, filming dozens of minor students
Mohammad Hussain Khan

A child sexual abuse scandal rocked Sindh's Khairpur district on Thursday when a retired schoolteacher was found to be allegedly involved in committing sodomy with minor students whom he tutored at a private property, officials and activists said.

The suspect was apprehended on Friday evening after evading arrest earlier, the Sindh Police announced on Twitter.

Sukkur range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Fida Hussain Mastoi earlier said police had conducted a raid at the suspect's hometown but he had managed to escape. The DIG also confirmed the scandal that went viral in Khairpir and across the country.

A picture showing the teacher allegedly sodomising a minor boy was widely shared on Twitter, with residents and activists demanding immediate arrest of the suspect and justice for the victims.

Two first information reports (FIR) have been registered against the teacher on rape charges as well as under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 1997, on the complaint of parents of two children who were allegedly victimised by him. “Schoolchildren were going to his tuition centre at a private premises since government schools are currently closed” due to the coronavirus pandemic, the DIG said. Both the FIRs have been registered at Thari Mirwah police station.

The suspect had retired recently from a government job as a schoolteacher. He was alleged to have raped one of his pupils, filmed the ghastly act and then made it viral. He has also been accused of forcing his students to commit sodomy with each other.

All the students who were studying at his tuition centre were aged between 10 to 12 years.

“A video of one boy doing all this with his friend was also filmed and made viral,” DIG Mastoi said. He said that the teacher appeared to be normal and he had been seen photographed with many prominent personalities in Khairpur as well.

That's concerning!

According to a local journalist, those who made the sexual abuse videos go viral are members of the suspect's gang as well.

Police confirmed that the student shown committing sodomy with another boy in a video was underage. Police traced the boy but his parents said their son had himself been a victim of rape and was forced to record this in order to be shared on social media.

Reports indicate that the teacher, a resident of village Nangar Shar in Khairpur's Faiz Ganj taluka, was also previously charge-sheeted in some other crime as well. He also faced double murder charges that were not proven and he moved to Thari Mirwah from Faiz Ganj in the backdrop of the charges.

Police have learnt that the suspect also got the relatives of a young boy implicated in a false case when the boy resisted being involved in an illicit relationship with him.

Calls for action

Civil society activists reacted strongly to the revelations, demanding the authorities to take notice of the case.

Prof Mushtaq Mirani urged Facebook users against sharing the pictures of a boy who was seen being abused by the suspect. "These pictures will kill the boy psychologically when he grows up,” he wrote.

One Zulfikar Halepoto wrote that the incident showed that such psychosocial behaviour towards children and mindset is not limited to religious persons or seminaries. “Even progressive and liberal people are prone to this sick mentality. Effective rule of law can prevent this,” he argued.

Amar Sindhu, a women’s rights activist, said that the suspect allegedly not only "raped 132 children" but also forced them to have group sex with each other. “Those videos are in circulation so there is more to it. It can be a Kasur-like scandal as well so police should look beyond this single video,” she added.

The Kasur scandal

In 2015, in Kasur's Hussain Khanwala village, videos were made of at least 280 children being sexually abused by a gang who later blackmailed their parents by threatening to leak the videos and received money from them.

Police, who had conspicuously failed to act in that case despite pleas from some parents, eventually made dozens of arrests after clashes between relatives and authorities brought the issue into the media spotlight.

Sindhu demanded the formation of a commission on child rights, like the commission on human and women’s rights. “All child abuse cases should be tried in separate speedy tribunals as such incidents are increasing,” she said, fearing that the videos might be used on the dark web.

Oh, trust me, they are almost certainly there already.

More than eight children abused every day

A report by the NGO Sahil had revealed in March that a total of 2,846 child abuse cases were reported from across the country in 2019, with data showing that more than eight children suffered some form of abuse every day in Pakistan last year.

The major crime categories of the reported cases were 778 abductions, 405 missing children cases, 348 sodomy cases, 279 rape cases, 210 attempted rapes, 205 gang sodomy cases and 115 gang rapes.

According to the NGO's report, the gender divide showed that out of the total 2,846 cases of child abuse, 54 per cent of the victims were girls and 46pc were boys.

Age-wise information showed that children are most vulnerable to abuse in the age group 6-15 years.

The research revealed that children as young as 0-5 years were also sexually abused.

Remember, these are 'reported' cases and make up a small percentage of the actual cases, possibly, a very small percentage.

There needs to be a formal inquiry into this case and into child sexual abuse in general. And, laws need desperately to be overhauled.

Chaddesden, UK, paedophile shared horrific
child abuse images with convicted sex offenders

Andrew Brough was snared by self-style vigilantes

A 63-year-old Derby father shared vile child abuse images to a group of warped like-minded perverts who admitted sexually assaulting their own victims.

Derby Crown Court heard how Andrew Brough, of Chaddesden, collected more than 2,000 horrific images of children including some as young as two being raped.

In 2018 he joined the select, closed group and "showed appreciation" of the hideous photographs they shared among themselves.

He also started talking to what he believed were girls aged 13 and asked them to perform sex acts over the internet for him. But one of the girls was really an adult self-styled paedophile hunter and Brough was visited, confronted and then reported to the police.

Jailing him for 40 months, Recorder Paul Mann QC said: "To you, they may have seemed to be just sexual images. But in truth, each one was a human being - someone's child, someone's grandchild.

"Think how you would react to discovering your own children were not only being abused sexually but how that was being made public for other people's sexual satisfaction."

Laura Pitman, prosecuting, said on one occasion Brough, of Rupert Road, told one of the underage girls he had driven to a lay-by near his work and while on the phone to her performed a sex act and encouraged her to do the same.

In fact, the girl was fake and had been created by a vigilante group called Manchester Hunters, who came to Derby to snare him - following him from the lay-by to his house to confront him and he was arrested.

The court heard how he handed police his phone, along with two others that were hidden inside the boot of his car.

It was revealed that Brough was part of a "network" of perverts sharing indecent images, having hundreds of photographs in his possession from all three categories of seriousness.

The court heard how he began contacting who he believed was a teenage girl called "Emily" in April 2018. Miss Pitman said: "A fake profile had been set up by the group, the person actually communicating with the defendant was an adult female.

"The profile made clear it was that of a child aged 13. He (Brough) asked how old she was and she confirmed she was 13. He said he was 25 and married.

"He asked for her telephone number. He asked if her mum knew what she was doing and responded saying her mum didn't let her message people. His response was 'tut tut naughty girl'."

More Grooming Gang Arrests in Child Sexual Exploitation Epicentre of Rochdale

KURT ZINDULKA, Breitbart

Greater Manchester Police have arrested a number of suspects involved in historical grooming gang crimes committed against women between 2002 and 2006 in Rochdale, England, one of the country’s most notorious grooming gang epicentres.

The arrests pre-date the infamous grooming gang that operated in the town between 2005 and 2008, which was finally busted by police in 2012 after years of being overlooked by the local police.

The latest arrests came as a part of Operation Lytton, which is one of 49 ongoing investigations into child sexual exploitation in the Greater Manchester area. Police have identified 271 victims of abuse and some 300 suspects.

So far, however, the identities of the suspects have not been made public.

A statement from Greater Manchester Police quoted by the Manchester Evening News explained that “Op Lytton is one of a number of ongoing major investigations into child sexual exploitation across Greater Manchester. This is a complex criminal investigation into non-recent abuse committed in Rochdale between 2002 and 2006.”

“A number of arrests and interviews have already taken place and the investigation continues,” the statement said, but added that “due to the sensitivities associated with offences of this nature, victims are at the forefront of our investigation and it would be inappropriate to release any further information at this time.”

The former Crown Prosecution Service chief prosecutor in the North-West, Nazir Afzal, praised the operation, saying: “I have always said justice delayed is better than justice denied so I very much welcome GMP’s investigation into non-recent child sexual abuse in Rochdale.”

“What we dealt with in 2012 was merely the tip of a national iceberg which agencies didn’t see coming. Now they must continue to put right their earlier wrongs,” Afzal added.

Three men who were jailed for their roles in the infamous Rochdale grooming gang, Qari Abdul Rauf, Abdul Aziz, and Adil Khan, have been revealed to be living in a town where they preyed on young girls, years after being slated for deportation.

In 2012, the men were convicted of a series of charges relating to the sexual abuse of children as young as 12. The men were all released early from prison, however.

Why?

As the three rapists held dual citizenship in Pakistan and the United Kingdom, they had their British citizenship revoked following their convictions, with the government promising they would be removed — but this has not happened, despite the trio losing a series of taxpayer-funded appeals.

Good grief!

In 2017, a study conducted by London based counter-extremism think tank, Quilliam, showed that:

84% of those convicted of grooming gang crimes in Britain
were Muslim men of South Asian heritage

The study, which was authored by two Pakistani-heritage men, found that the grooming gangs went after young white girls, whom they viewed as “easy targets”, rather than girls from their own communities, whom they felt should be “protected”.

“We began thinking we would debunk the media narrative that Asians are overrepresented in this specific crime,” said author Muna Adil.

“But, when the final numbers came in we were alarmed and dismayed. For both of us being of Pakistani heritage, this issue is deeply personal and deeply disturbing,” Adil added.

Read your Quran and Hadiths - Mohammed gives explicit permission for Muslims to do what the want with non-Muslim girls in their right-hand. Right-hand can be interpreted as your car, your house, a motel room, a park at night, etc. etc.

Pakistani Muslims are more devout than those from most other countries and take Mohammed's messages literally. How can you possibly change their thinking without taking on the validity of the Quran and the Hadiths? Devout Muslims would react with astonishing hostility.

Inside the minds of Australia's 'sex teachers': Why rogue school staff sleep with their students

5 teaching careers over in NSW

By DANIEL PIOTROWSKI FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

A forensic psychologist has slammed grown men for crowing on social media about how they 'wish' their female teachers seduced them when they were teenage boys.

There has been a recent spate of Australian convictions and high-profile court cases where male and female teachers have had sex with their students.

The indiscretions have occurred at both prestigious institutions and poorly funded public schools - and have sparked a familiar refrain from some on social media.

Experts said stories about teachers having sex with students often leads to joke comments online such as 'where were all these teachers when I was at school?'

Those people have been slammed as having 'no clue' by forensic psychologist of 42 years' experience Tim Watson-Munro.

Mr Watson-Munro - who has interviewed more than 30,000 victims, accused persons and convicted criminals over his career - explained to Daily Mail Australia the pain teachers can cause with sexual relationships with their students, and what drives those offenders he has met.

Speaking in general terms, the former Parramatta Gaol psychologist said predatory teachers often possess a willingness to abuse their authority - as well as psychological flaws.

'They're immature, they enjoy the power, and I think for some of them - and I say it with great respect to the victims - it's like shooting a trout in a barrel,' he said. 'They (the students) are captives for the day.

'Children, adolescents, teenagers, look up to teachers for a source of knowledge and authority.'

Forensic psychologist Tim Watson-Munro has stared into the eyes of more than 30,000 persons of interest, victims, accused and convicted criminals

An English teacher from $36,000-a-year Sydney Grammar, Bronwen Williams, and several public school teachers, such as Sutherland's Cameron Peter White, are among those convicted in recent years.

But much of the public attention has fallen on the crimes of female teachers - with recent arrests sparking social media comments from some men who publicly 'wish' their own teachers seduced them at school.

Mr Watson-Munro said: 'People who make these comments really don't have a clue. To them, they see it as some sort of conquest of a power figure. It's a great fantasy. The reality is quite different.

'If you survive being sexually abused by a teacher, whatever the gender, you feel betrayed, humiliated and exploited.'

Mr Munro said survivors were often groomed by offenders so they thought they were 'in love' with them - and were left feeling devastated and betrayed afterwards.

As for how sex offender teachers react after they have been caught, Mr Watson-Munro said he has often found them in denial.

'Some of them victim-shame - claim that they were seduced,' he said. 'Others say they were remorseful. But if you look at the pattern of conduct, it's often gone on in different schools for years, and the remorse I think is more driven by punishment than the genuine insight of the victim.

'A number of people that I see are emotionally immature. They're people that can't really establish adult relationships with others. They can be quite sexually naive.'  But it is the victims left suffering the consequences, he said - as some of these recent cases to hit the headlines make clear.

BRONWEN WILLIAMS

Williams gave birth to a baby girl while behind bars

Bronwen Williams was an English and drama teacher at Sydney Grammar School, one of the city's most prestigious schools.

Over three months in 2016, Williams had sex with a 17-year-old boy in spare classrooms, storage rooms and after chowing down ice cream in her home.

The then-33-year-old told the New South Wales District Court on sentencing in 2018 that she had thought it was a 'very mutual love affair'. But the victim told the court he felt 'harassed, stalked and dominated' by his needy teacher.

Williams bombarded the boy with texts after he broke it off, panicking that the story of their trysts would come out.

She asked if she was going to jail, described herself as a 'f***ing monster' and suggested she could take her own life. 'I loved you so much it is killing me,' she said.

Another text was sent on behalf of her pet dog, who 'would like to say hello and ask how you are. 'He knows it's over between us, but he still cares about you. He hopes you won't stay angry too long and that maybe we can talk before school goes back.'

Williams was jailed for seven months after pleading guilty to five counts of sexual intercourse with a person in her care. She gave birth to a baby - her husband's - behind bars and served out her prison sentence.

Meanwhile, the school last year published a formal apology to the victim. Sydney Grammar praised his 'enormous bravery', saying he had ensured 'other students were kept safe from Williams'.

'The abuse of male students by female teachers is just as serious, and damaging, as the abuse of female students by male teacher,' the statement said.

CAMERON PETER WHITE

Jailed: Cameron Peter White, from Sutherland in Sydney's south, was jailed for at least six years for 19 sex crimes against three students - a boy and two girls

Geography teacher Cameron Peter White would train schoolboys at the gym, promise to tell his students 'adult' stories and was seen as the 'cool' teacher. But what the bisexual 42-year-old part-time personal trainer and former bouncer really did was abuse and exploit his position of authority for his own sexual benefit, a court heard.

White was jailed for a minimum of six years for sex crimes against three of his teenage students, each at different public school campuses south of Sydney. Two of his victims were girls and one was a 14-year-old boy who court facts said he described as 'my b****'.

Some of the 19 offences he was jailed for included intercourse at his flat after the Year 12 formal and receiving oral sex in the school fire escape.

One of the victims said in a statement to the court that White would callously describe her as his 'little sister', which she slammed as 'infinitely selfish.' 'I'm still ashamed,' she wrote, saying the toll the ordeal had taken had left her unable to 'feel much joy or see much hope in my future.'

Perhaps someone should talk to his real little sister, if he has one.

Judge James Bennett said on sentencing that White had exploited his position as a teacher, 'but he was a very immature man'.

GAVIN MALCOLM DUNCAN

Popular maths teacher Gavin Malcolm Duncan was jailed for at least seven months for sex with a 17-year-old schoolgirl at Katoomba High, in Sydney's far west.

As Daily Mail Australia reported last month, Mr Duncan denied 'grooming' the girl, who he had first taught when she was just 13-years-old, and then 'mentored'.

The court heard the pair repeatedly had sex at his home, with the statement of facts saying on one occasion he asked her to wear a particular item of clothing to school. 'He told her to wear a skirt to school the next day so he could f*** her in the classroom,' court facts said.

The victim told the court she had believed Duncan 'cared about me. Every choice I made, I would ask myself how Gav would react if he found out and he always knew what I was up to... which I now realise was part of the grooming.'

Maths teacher Gavin Malcolm Duncan will be eligible for parole next January

As Daily Mail Australia reported recently, the victim said she had suffered anxiety and depression and been cast out by her former classmates since his arrest.

'People told me I'd lived out my fantasy while he had to suffer,' she said. 'It was the last I heard from any of my school friends. I've been told I wasted my life and should have said no but no one understands what it's like to be groomed.'

Duncan told the court he was 'extremely sorry' for his crimes.

Judge Sharon Harris accepted Duncan showed remorse, but put it best when she said: 'A school student should expect the teacher has her best interests at heart.'

SARAH JANE GUAZZO

No longer a teacher: Sarah Jane Guazzo, then 29, was acquitted of procurement charges for sex with a 16-year-old boy at a Queensland school. Laws about sexual relationships differ there

Queensland teacher Sarah Guazzo had sex with a 16-year-old school student - but was acquitted of procurement charges last years.

The charges - that she 'procured a young person for carnal knowledge' - were dismissed as, at 16-years-old, the student was of legal age, and had consented to the teacher's requests for sex.

That sparked calls for reform of the state's supposedly 'archaic' laws surrounding sexual relationships between teachers and students.

National Child Sexual Assault Reform Committee Professor Anne Cossins told the ABC last year the case showed the law did not address power imbalances between teachers and students.

Professor Cossins told the national broadcaster at the time: 'When it is a relationship of authority and when you have someone under your care in that regard, you should not be having sex with them. It really is as simple as that.'

Laws in New South Wales criminalise teachers having sex with students aged between 16 and 18 as pupils are under the authority of adults.

Ms Guazzo's teaching registration was suspended and, as reported last year, she has since gained employment at an activewear store.

Former BT senior manager caught with child sex abuse images is sentenced at Leeds Crown Court

A data analyst was sacked from his £50,000 a year senior management job with BT after he was caught with child sex abuse images, a court heard.

By Mark Lavery, Yorkshire Evening Post

Police found the indecent images on paedophile Jordan Green's laptop after he was arrested at his Leeds home, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Catherine Duffy, prosecuting, said officers went to Green's address on August 4 2018 and searched the property before seizing an iphone and an Apple MacBook Pro. Green, 35, was taken to Stainbeck Police Station in Chapel Allerton and arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images.

The MacBook Pro was examined and found to contain 11 category A still indecent images - the most serious category. There were also four category A moving indecent images and one category B still image.

Victims 12 mo. to 3 years old

The court heard the moving images involved the abuse of a girl aged between 12 months and three years of age.

Green, who has no previous convictions, admitted two charges of making indecent images of children.

Richard Reed, mitigating, said Green was a graduate who won a three-year post-graduate placement with BT, which he completed in 2018. Mr Reed said Green was promoted to senior manager level in data analysis.

He said Green was initially suspended but then sacked from the £50,000 a year job in January of 2019. Mr Reed said Green currently has a £23,000 a year job in computing, but that his conviction will lead to his dismissal from that job.

Mr Reed said: "He is a man who has already been punished for his activities, perhaps more than most. "All his qualifications are in this field. He accepts the prospects of further employment are going to be limited."

Judge Robin Mairs handed Green a 16-month jail sentence, suspended for 24 months, and ordered him to take part in a sex offender treatement programme and complete 30 rehabilitation activity days.

Referring to one of the category A images, Judge Mairs told Green: "The pain of the child was discernible. That's a real child that is caused real harm and distress and the reason that happens is to fuel and to provide images for those that have the sexual desires that you do."

Green, now of Crawford Avenue, Leyland, near Preston in Lancashire, was made the subject of a ten-year sexual harm prevention order and his name will be on the sex offender register for ten years.

Northern Ireland barrister admits child sex abuse
photo and video charges

Lisburn Courthouse

The career and reputation of a leading lawyer are in ruins after he pleaded guilty to downloading images of child sexual abuse.

At the height of his career as a barrister, Jonathan Lowry, who celebrates his 60th birthday this Thursday, worked on a range of criminal cases including prosecuting sex offenders.

But the veteran lawyer is now on the wrong side of the law, awaiting sentence after his admitting a string of charges.

Another career trashed, although he's old enough to retire now anyway. But what a dreadful way to end an otherwise, apparently, good career. What an embarrassment to any family and friends. You would think a mature, successful lawyer would have developed some sort of self-control. You would think he would know what being caught would mean to his family and friends.

Police investigate Frankston, Vic, sexual assault

 Do you know this man?

Detectives from Frankston Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Unit are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Frankston last month.

Investigators have been told a 17-year-old girl was sitting on a bench seat on Young Street opposite the Frankston Railway station about 11.40am on Monday, 29 June.

A man approached the girl before sitting next to her and sexually assaulting her.

The man walked away on foot towards Beach Street but not before the quick-thinking victim managed to take a photograph of the man.

Detectives have released an image and CCTV footage of the man in the hope someone will be able to identify him.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, with short spikey dark hair and aged between 25 and 40-years-old.

At the time, he was wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt with ‘New York’ motif on the front.

His fingernails were painted, and he was wearing distinctive mustard coloured shoes.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
