A convicted paedophile suspected of being a member of child sex ring linked to the abduction of Madeleine McCann is being extradited back to Britain.
This snippet is from The Times, which identifies the man as Roderick MacDonald. Previous mention of the same man has him named Roderick Robinson. Perhaps he used an alias; if so, it's anybody's guess which name is real, if either.
They also report him as being 76 years old while my report in May had him as 77.
Roderick Macdonald, 76, was arrested on the Mediterranean island of Gozo on Monday having fled Britain after being sentenced for sexual assault on girls in Brighton.
Macdonald, a former oil rig worker, appeared in court in Malta on Monday and did not challenge his immediate extradition.
He was reported to be living in the Algarve when Madeleine disappeared from the McCann's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in May, 2007, shortly before her 4th birthday.
