FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP/WTNH) — Police say ten men have been arrested in Connecticut after they came to a house intending to have sex with a 12-year-old girl or a 13-year-old boy.
Fairfield police partnered in the undercover sting with Chris Hansen, a former reporter from the show “To Catch A Predator.” They say the men were ages 19 to 64.
The men arrested were: Michael Manzi of N.Y., Jesse Velez of Bridgeport, Jeffrey Sokol of Massachusetts, Charles Lawrence of Fairfield, Vincent Ambrosio of N.Y., Joshua Colon of N.Y., David Tiriolo, John Dupee, Michael Gentile, and Stephen Buchanan.
The Connecticut Post reports a 32-year-old math teacher from Harrison, New York, and a 27-year-old Connecticut National Guard member from Stratford were among those arrested. Police say the Stratford man had a bag in his car containing a loaded gun, a roll of duct tape, a knife and a box of condoms.
The Fairfield Police department arrested all ten suspects and charged them with various charges such as Criminal Attempt, Injury/Risk/Impairing Morals of a minor, first or second-degree Criminal Attempt at Sexual Assault, and Enticing a minor. All were held on a 500,000.00 dollar bail.
Most of the suspects were arraigned on Oct. 5th at Bridgeport Superior Court.
