Prince Andrew ‘to permanently retire from royal life’
after Epstein scandal

Prince Andrew is set to retire from royal life permanently due to his links with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, it has been reported. The Duke of York, 60, stepped back from public life in November 2019 after opening up about his friendship with Epstein during a car-crash interview with Newsnight.

Sources now claim the Queen ‘can’t see a way back’ for her son, The Sunday Times reports. Andrew, who is father to princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, had reportedly been hoping to make a return, but the source described his presence as ‘toxic’. The Royal Family now have ‘no plans to review’ his position, the publication said.

He could now be under pressure to give up his military commands, including his role as colonel of the Grenadier Guards, which he retained despite no longer carrying out public duties.

The Duke is currently also embroiled in a legal dispute alongside ex-wife Sarah Ferguson over debt for their £18,000,000 Verbier ski chalet. Isabelle de Rouvre sold the couple the chalet in 2014, but claims they still owe her £6,000,000. According to US magazine Air Mail, the Queen is assisting Andrew in paying off the debt, but Buckingham Palace are yet to comment on the matter publicly.

Andrew withdrew from royal duties last year after speaking publicly about his friendship with Epstein and allegations that Virginia Giuffre was made to have sex with him when she was 17. The Duke has continuously denied any involvement with Ms Giuffre, who is one of the 16 women who say they were abused by Epstein.

During an interview with Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis, he said he had ‘no recollection’ of meeting Ms Giuffre and claimed he was at a Pizza Express in Woking on one of the days she says they had sex. He added he would step back from official duties, admitting that ‘the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work’.

Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in August last year while awaiting trial for child sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled as suicide. He had previously been convicted and jailed for procuring an underage girl for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute in 2008.

In a statement, Andrew previously said he continued to ‘unequivocally regret’ his ‘ill-timed’ association with the financier. He continued: ‘His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathise with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure. I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives.’

It doesn't look like you will be able to rebuild yours! How could you not know what you were risking? Some risks are worth taking; some are not.

Fashion Icon André Leon Talley Opens Up About
Childhood Sexual Abuse in New Memoir
By Ny MaGee
Eurweb

“The Chiffon Trenches” chronicles his rags to riches tale from Durham, North Carolina to becoming one of the most respected fashionistas in the game.

“I was the only child in the house,” Talley says of life in Durham, per PEOPLE.  And he was very much aware that he was not like the other boys in the neighborhood. “I had a ritual. I would walk across the railroad tracks to the campus of Duke. I would buy Vogue. I took them home and would devour them. I hung the pages on the wall—Naomi Sims, Pat Cleveland, the great African American models. I made my own world.”

Talley’s fantastical world was part of his survival mode, as the sexual abuse began at age 9.

“It was not one man, it was many, young adults, teenagers, or men throughout the neighborhood. It was painful. It was serial. And it took place in shame. In shaming places, in dark places—like the woodshed of my house, where they kept the wood and coal,” he says.

“I was afraid to tell anyone. I was afraid they would send me away. I didn’t know at that time, that you could go to doctors. We didn’t have hotlines for sexual abuse or suicide. I did not know how to articulate this. It has lived with me until I wrote this book.”

Talley says he “found a way to alleviate the pain, through” fashion. “The escapism of fashion and the world of style and, eventually, the pages of Vogue,” he adds.

These days, Talley finds peace (especially amid COVID-19) through the church. “All my friends are church people,” he says.

“I am grateful for my life, but I am not happy with who I am,” Talley says. “I want to continue to try and be kind and not cruel. But I have had a difficult life.” He says he had the opportunity years ago to go to therapy for his sexual abuse and wishes he would have. “I have not been able to have any intimacy that is successful. I don’t have intimacy with men or women. I am afraid to be touched.” He pauses. “I still don’t know who to trust.”

NFL player wielded GUN and 'threatened to
kill everybody' during poker game row over
'alleged sexual assault of four-y/o son'

Cody Latimer's attorney has claimed an investigation is underway into a sexual assault allegation against one of the players who was involved in a poker game that led to the wide receiver being arrested on multiple felony charges.

Latimer's best friend, who hosted the poker night at his home, said the Washington Redskins player had snapped during a game, rowed with another guest, left the house and then returned half an hour later carrying a firearm and threatening to "kill everybody," according to police documents.

The former Denver Broncos star is accused of telling his friend that he had saved two rounds of ammunition for them and their girlfriend before calming down and removing the bullets from the gun, only to grow angry again and fire two shots near the complainant before wrestling with his friend.

The charges allege that Latimer had been pinned against a wall but injured the host by hitting him over the head with the weapon.

Now Latimer's representative in court, where he faces charges, including second-degree assault and illegally using a gun, has claimed that law enforcement officers suspect one of the individuals at the gathering of sexually assaulting Latimer's four-year-old son.

Harvey Steinberg said the accusations of assault were not against Latimer, who appeared in court on Monday following the incident in Colorado in the early hours of Saturday.

"There's an entire back story to this situation that constitutes one of the most highly provocative situations you can imagine," Steinberg said in a statement.

"Please withhold judgment until all the facts of what took place that night are known."

Police were called after a witness reported hearing the gunshots, with Latimer's friend taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries following the scuffle.

Latimer credited his son, Jacolby, with changing his “young, dumb, hard-headed" approach after he joined the New York Giants on a $2.5-million-a-year salary in 2018.

"You don’t want [him] to see his dad be a failure," he told the New York Post at the time. "He made me focus on life and see it from a different perspective.

“My son – that’s what did it, when I had him. I got to do it for him."

The Redskins acknowledged the development and said they had informed NFL officials. "We will continue to gather more information and have no further comment at this time," they added in a statement.

'I'M A SURVIVOR'
JK Rowling says she is sexual assault and domestic abuse survivor after transphobia row
Ellie Cambridge, The Sun

JK Rowling said today she is a sexual assault and domestic abuse survivor as she defended herself from accusations of transphobia.

The author said she and other abuse survivors were "slurred as bigots" when discussing single-sex spaces.

It comes after she was accused of transphobia after tweeting about women menstruating.

Her comments caused dozens of celebrities to speak out, with Daniel Radcliffe apologising to Harry Potter fans offended by her tweets earlier in the week.

Today, she wrote: "I've been in the public eye now for over 20 years and have never talked publicly about being a domestic abuse and sexual assault survivor.

"This isn't because I'm ashamed those things happened to me, but because they're traumatic to revisit and remember

"I also feel protective of my daughter from my first marriage. I didn't want to claim sole ownership of a story that belongs to her, too.

"However, a short while ago, I asked her how she'd feel if I were publicly honest about that part of my life and she encouraged me to go ahead.

"I'm mentioning these things now not in an attempt to garner sympathy, but out of solidarity with the huge numbers of women who have histories like mine, who've been slurred as bigots for having concerns around single-sex spaces."

This week Rowling, 54, posted a response to a headline referring to “people who menstruate”.

She wrote: “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”

Several people hit back to point out it was not only women born women who menstruate.

Rowling, who is said to be worth £765million, responded: “My life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it’s hateful to say so.”

US blogger who accused former Pakistan minister
of rape shares details of ‘that night’

Islamabad: An additional district & sessions judge (ADSJ) of Islamabad has issued a notice for June 9 to the deputy director of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Cell upon receiving an application filed by the president of the district unit of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), seeking registration of a criminal case against American blogger Cynthia D. Ritchie.

Advocate Shakeel Abbasi filed the application before ADSJ Jahangir Awan under Section 22-A of the Criminal Procedure Code, under which, the court may direct the investigation agency to register an FIR. The complainant stated that Ritchie had made extremely derogatory and slanderous remarks about former Pakistan prime minister and PPP leader late Benazir Bhutto through her Twitter handle/account.

Actually, it seems Ritchie had accused government officials of making such remarks about Benazir Bhutto.

The United States blogger has been at the centre of a raging controversy since Friday when she levelled charges of rape against Pakistan’s former interior minister Rehman Malik and accusations of molestation against former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and former federal health minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin.

However, unfazed by the PPP leadership’s move to take legal action against her for levelling what they termed as “baseless” charges of rape and molestation, Ritchie said she was ready to face them in any court of law and expressed confidence that she would get justice.

“Absolutely! As I said before, I’m ready for a court. All the documents, voice notes, filthy images and rape threats from PPP, the data scientists who’ve assisted in putting together this nexus of harassment. I hope PPP is ready for my suit,” Ritchie said in a tweet.

RM should be asked about the night he invited me to his home in the minister's enclave to discuss my 'visa'. The flowers, the electronic device (unusual) gift & the drugged drinks he gave me.

Ritchie in her post claims that there is a culture of sexual abuse in Pakistan and men take pleasure in fantasizing about their sexual conquests. “What happened to me is a pattern of sexual abuse or power projection. Abuse of power is common among the elites of Pakistan — and this is across the board among both genders,” she tweeted.

In her tweet, she calls for an end to the “culture of rape” in Pakistan. “The rape culture must stop. Women must work together to educate children re: what’s not ok & defend themselves against predators.”

Lonnie Walker IV Cut His Hair and Revealed Childhood Sexual Abuse: 'My Hair Was a Mask'

BYTARA C. MAHADEVAN, Complex

San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Lonnie Walker IV has revealed the real reason why he cut his trademark hair, saying in an Instagram post that it became a “cloaking device” after he endured abuse and rape as a kid. Now, he finally feels like he can move on.

The 21-year-old began growing his hair in the 5th grade, which has now become known as “the pineapple” in the NBA.

“During the summer of my 5th grade, year I was around more family,” he wrote on IG. “I was sexually harassed, raped, abused, I even got accustomed to it because being at that age you don’t know what is what.”

He continued, "I had a mindset that my hair was something that I can control. My hair was what I can make and create and be mine.”

Walker says that he spent his time during the coronavirus pandemic reflecting on his life, writing, “I began to truly look at myself in the mirror and see who I truly was even behind closed doors.” He says he was able to find forgiveness for those who wronged him “because it’s dead weight.”

“Me cutting my hair was more than a cut,” Walker added. “My hair was a mask of me hiding the insecurities [sic] that I felt the world wasn’t ready for. But now better then ever. Out with old. In with the new. I have shed my skin mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.”

“Life will always be hard. Gotta play with the cards you’re dealt with and try and make a winning hand. And if you lose. It’s never a lost. It’s a lesson.”

Walker’s agent, George Langberg also issued a statement on the Spurs’ player’s behalf, telling ESPN, “It is his hope that by opening up, it will help anyone who reads his story that may have been sexually abused in the past, or anyone who may be going through something similar now, to know that they are not alone.”

His new 'do' has a cross carved into it. I'm not surprised. But I don't think his previous 'do' was as much a mask as a coping device. He seems to have coped very well and to reach this level of forgiveness at 21 years of age is extraordinary.
