Accused paedophile who allegedly said he wants to infect children with HIV is freed on bail
..
One of his 'victims' awaiting results of an AIDS test

By LAUREN FERRI FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

An HIV-positive accused paedophile who police allege wants to infect children has been freed on bail.

Jadd William Brooker
, 38, was granted bail on Thursday at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court in Adelaide to live with his grandmother in home detention.

But he remains in custody as prosecutors work to appeal the decision in the Supreme Court.

South Australian Police warned Brooker should not be released as he allegedly pursued teenagers for sex and tried to destroy potential evidence, Adelaide Now reported.

Police allege one of the teenagers Brooker had sex with did not know he was HIV positive, and was also the subject of child exploitation material.

'(The surviving victim) was unaware of Brooker's medical status when they engaged in sexual activity, and he is currently undergoing medical testing,' prosecutors told court on Thursday.

When he was contacted in prison by his mother she volunteered to delete Brooker's Facebook account and he asked her to wipe other accounts for him, the court heard. Brooker allegedly provided his email and password for his Microsoft Live account and asked his mother to delete it.

'Given the nature of the charges, a lot of potential evidence is stored in the cloud – potentially millions of pieces of evidence – and this is an attempt to destroy it before police can uncover it,' police prosecutors said.

The 38-year-old allegedly pursued 19 children all aged between 13 and 16 for sex online and also has connections to other alleged paedophiles.

Despite the warnings from police Magistrate Rodney Oates granted bail as he had no prior criminal history, no breaches of bail and the presumption of innocence.

'I do take into account the fact other charges are being investigated but, in relation to this bail application, I must focus on the charges that are before this court,' he told the court.

How about focussing for just one minute on the lives he destroyed and the potential he has to destroy more lives while on bail. Victims and potential victims apparently count for nothing in Oates' court.

Brooker is yet to plead to multiple counts of disseminating and possessing child exploitation material.

Prosecutors allege the offences occurred from December 2015 and August this year and that Brooker has maintained an illegal relationship with two male teenagers.

Investigators allege to have evidence that Brooker intended to 'infect both children and adults with HIV'.

It's not enough to destroy innocence, but to infect it with poison is another level of evil. Sin is progressive!

Magistrate Oates agreed and released Brooker on $1,000 bail to live with his grandmother under 24-hour electric monitoring. Prosecutors are challenging the decision and Brooker's release was postponed pending a hearing.

Maybe, Judge Oates, it's time to retire. This is utterly disgraceful and infuriating. Don't you care even a little bit about his victims?

The incident happened while the girls were on holiday in the Basilicata region of southern Italy.

The girls - whose ages were not given - had been at a private party in a house on the outskirts of a village a few nights ago.

A group of uninvited boys broke into the party and the girls were attacked by eight of them behind a bush nearby, Sassilive.it reports.

Initially there were just two of the group of boys involved but then the other six arrived.

After the attack, the girls went back to where they were staying then alerted the police and medics were called to help them.

According to La Gazetta Del Mezzogiorno the pair were in "pain, physical pain and shock" when they returned to where they were staying.

There is said to be "disbelief" in the local community about what happened.

After receiving first aid, the girls were transferred to a hospital where they were treated for their injuries and for shock, according to local media.

Police and prosecutors are currently investigating the horrific attack. They refused to give any details, citing strict confidentiality because of the nature of the crime and the age of the victims.

It is not reported if any of the suspects in the case are already identified and the ages of the girls were also not revealed.

Brit ‘gang-rape’ victim bravely fought off predator by biting him during Italy house party attack, prosecutor reveals
Nick Pisa, The Sun

TWO British teenagers set upon by a group of rapist "thugs" who "drugged them" fought off one of their attackers by biting him, prosecutors said.

Four people have been charged in connection with the attack in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, with CCTV showing them fleeing from the attack.

The CCTV footage shows at least three men running towards the large gate and attempting to escape

Proscutor Pietro Argentino told a press conference the rape was "brutal and extreme" adding quick police work had swiftly led to the arrests.

He also said: "The girls tried to defend themselves by biting the intimate parts of one of the men involved."

It was probably he who was seen running from the scene with a limp.

And the girls' lawyer revealed the pair struggled to remember all of the events after they say they "unknowingly consumed" hallucinogenic drugs.

Cops named four of the men charged as Michele Massiello, Giuseppe Gargano, Alessandro Zuccaro and Alberto Lopatiello while another three were bailed.

All four men were in their 20s and described by local media as ''well known bullies and thugs''.

Named as Pisticci locals, they have been charged with sexual violence and wounding.

Leighton Buzzard man jailed over five years
after sexually abusing two girls
By Stewart Carr
Leighton Buzzard Observer

Gary Roff, 60, of Richmond Road, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Tuesday, September 8, after pleading guilty to eight counts of sexual assault.

Roff was sentenced to 63 months’ imprisonment and was issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for an indefinite period.

He targeted the girls, taking opportunities to indecently assault them on a number of occasions, over a twelve month period.

In December last year, the offences were reported to Bedfordshire Police and further descriptions of abuse were confided by the victims during the investigation.

PC Benjamin Robertson, who led the investigation, said: “This was a particularly sensitive investigation. Roff targeted two young vulnerable victims with his predatory behaviour, and he will now spend time behind bars.

I don't know what his precise offenses were, but 5 years doesn't seem very long for a year's worth of child sex abuse on two children. Similar sexual abuse of two children should be worth twice the sentence than for one child.

“I would like to recognise the enormous bravery and strength of the two young girls who came forward and told their parents about this abuse.

“They have been supported throughout the process and I hope that today’s sentence can in some way help their path to recovery and allows them to have a sense of justice, and closure so they can now flourish in their lives.

“I would encourage anyone who has been abused, no matter how long ago it happened, to come forward and tell us, and we will do all we can to support you and get justice for you.”

If you have concerns about child sexual abuse or you have been a victim, contact police on 101.

The NSPCC website also has a wealth of information on how to teach children about staying safe from sexual abuse, including the PANTS underwear rule:

One of the worst stories of the year!

Girl, 17, left for dead after brutal gang-rape is raped again by
seven monsters who found her in South Africa
Hana Carter
The Sun

A TEENAGE girl who was left for dead after she was brutally gang-raped, was raped again by seven beasts who found her.

The 17-year-old was dragged to a football pitch and raped by three different groups of men in Tsolo, South Africa.

The vile attack happened last Friday at 10pm in Tsolo, South AfricaCredit: Google

Cops are hunting 11 men who are accused of raping the teenager in the secluded area.

Officers said the girl was first attacked by four men who left her for dead, before she was attacked again by another group of four men and then another group of three.

In reality, there is not a 'man' among them!

It is unknown whether the groups knew each other or if they had planned the vile ambush.

The assault took place around 10pm last Friday, according to The Citizen.

She had been walking home from a friend's house when the four unknown men grabbed her and dragged her to the football pitch.

Those men were followed by the other groups of monsters, who rather than helping her continued to abuse her.

No-one has been arrested.

Cairo: Egyptian police have arrested a male nurse over allegations of having sexually abused a woman who was ill with the coronavirus. It is the latest in a series of such cases in the country.

The patient, aged 23, reported to police that the nurse had sexually harassed her and touched her genitalia while she was under quarantine in a hospital in the quarter of Dokki near Cairo, Al Watan newspaper said.

“I went to the hospital and was isolated to receive treatment for corona,” Al Masry Al Youm newspaper quoted the woman as saying. “Despite my suffering, the nurse abused me verbally and attempted to sexually assault me,” she added.

In response, police checked the surveillance cameras in the place and listened to eyewitnesses. The 35-year-old nurse was arrested for interrogation.

In recent months, Egyptian authorities have stepped up a clampdown on sex offences (7th story on link).

Prosecutors are currently investigating a high-profile case related to a purported gang rape of a girl inside a luxury hotel in Cairo more than six years ago.

In a separate case, a young Egyptian is set to stand a criminal trial on charges of sexually assaulting and blackmailing three underage girls.

The defendant has recently been at the centre of online accusations of alleged mass sex assaults, triggering an outcry in the country.

York Crown Court Deals with Murderer and Two Paedophile Stings

By York Press staff

It's been a busy week at York Crown Court. Here's a summary of some of the cases dealt with this week:

A “MANIPULATIVE, abusive and controlling” man who “ambushed” a University of York student and stabbed her to death with a kitchen knife after she ended their relationship has been handed a life sentence.

Paul Crowther
, 36, from Batley, West Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of “talented” York student Bethany Fields after being diagnosed with schizophrenia following her death.

Judge Tom Bayliss QC described Crowther as a “very dangerous man indeed” as he ordered him to be detained in hospital as part of his minimum sentence of 12 years.

Judge Bayliss told Leeds Crown Court that Miss Fields described the defendant as “manipulative, abusive and controlling”.

He said: “She told police that the abuse, which was initially low key, began to intensify.”

The court heard that Crowther had suffered from mental health issues for a number of years and had been detained in hospital several times after threatening suicide, having thoughts about killing others and hearing voices.

Judge Bayliss said: “Bethany Fields did what she could to help him with his mental health issues but it all became too much for her to cope with and she ended their relationship.”

A paedophile's son has been jailed for more than five years after planning to abuse a young girl while her uncle watched

Simon Leonard Mewse, 36, made a two-hour journey to Skipwith Common south of York to meet the pair with condoms in his car, said Dan Cordey, prosecuting.

The 36-year-old had sent videos of children as young as three being abused to the “uncle” via online chat apps. But the “uncle” was an undercover police officer, the eight-year-old “niece” didn’t exist and Mewse was arrested.

The 36-year-old had also had similar conversations online with another undercover police officer about the officer’s non-existent 10-year-old daughter and also sent him videos of children being sexually abused, Mr Cordey told York Crown Court.

Defence solicitor advocate Kevin Blount said Mewse would not have actually carried out the abuse. He had wanted to investigate child sexual abuse because his father had recently been jailed for child sex offences.

Judge Simon Hickey told Mewse: “That should have warned you off completely from these sorts of offences.”

The 36-year-old had gone to Skipwith Common with the intention of “effectively raping” an eight-year-old girl.

“I don’t accept you would not have gone through with it,” said the judge.

He jailed Mewse for five years and three months, plus a two year extension, put him on the sex offenders’ register for life and made him subject to a lifetime sexual harm prevention order banning him from contacting children and enabling police to monitor his use of the internet.

A MAN who tried to persuade a boy to skip school to have sex with him was snared by a police regional organised crime unit.

Owen John Druett, 22, sent sexual online messages to “Noah”, said Michele Stuart-Lofthouse, prosecuting.

He also messaged: “Can’t you leave school and come here?” and “Come to my door, I will leave it unlocked, just come straight in.”

But the person he believed was a 12-year-old boy was really a member of the Yorkshire and Humberside Police Regional Organised Crime Unit.

Detectives arrested him near his home and found indecent pictures of children as young as 18 months on his mobile phone. He told them he used them for sexual gratification.

Recorder Margia Mostafa told Druett about “Noah”: “You sent him extremely explicit messages, stating you wanted in essence ...sexual intercourse with him.”

The reason police carried out such operations was to snare predatory paedophiles such as Druett, the court heard. “That is what you are, that is what you were doing on the internet,” she said.

Druett, of Pottery Lane, off Malton Road, York, pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child for sex and three charges of having indecent images of children.

He was given an 18-month prison sentence suspended for two years on condition he does a rehabilitation programme lasting up to 90 days, 30 days other rehabilitative activities and 100 hours’ unpaid work.

He was put on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order allowing police to monitor his online activities for seven years.

His barrister Fiona Clancy told York Crown Court Druett had committed the offences at a time when he had been exploring his sexuality and when he had been depressed. He had had a difficult childhood and lacked maturity.

But since his arrest in December 2018, he had had counselling and was supported by his family and friends.

Ceredigion, Wales man jailed for 12 years for historic child sex abuse

By Dave Parkinson
Tivy-Side Advertiser

THE bravery of two survivors in speaking out about sexual abuse they suffered more than 30 years ago has been praised by police after a Ceredigion man was jailed for 12 years.

Dyfed-Powys Police has commended the man and woman for their courage in reporting the abuser who took advantage of them as children, as well as their tireless cooperation throughout a three-year investigation and two trials.

The force was contacted by one of the survivors in 2017 when he reached a point in his life where he needed closure from his childhood suffering.

This report sparked a complex investigation which saw officer in case DC Katie Wheeldon working with Interpol, the Irish Garda, social services and supporting a second survivor who also came forward with allegations against Ian Paul Davies.

DC Wheeldon said: “It has been a privilege to be able to support the two survivors through every step of the investigation, and I have to commend them for their bravery and determination in reporting the horrific abuse they were subject to.

“For both, reporting the crimes came as they needed a sense of closure from what they had suffered, and the hope that by speaking out they could also give others the confidence to come forward.

“It hasn’t been easy for them going over their past experiences, and particularly having to sit through two trials, but they have been so strong.”

When the first disclosure was made, officers heard that years of being abused sexually as a child had resulted in the survivor turning to a chaotic lifestyle. He had reached a point where he was no longer able to hide what he went through, and contacted police.

In a victim impact statement, he said the incidents had “ruined his life”. “When I was a child, Ian took advantage of me, a young boy who didn’t realise it was wrong,” he wrote.

“When I did realise that it was wrong, I took it out on everyone. I started drinking, fighting and not caring about anything. As I got older it seemed as though I had put it to the back of my mind, but years later I kept having flashbacks and getting really depressed.

“Countless times I have contemplated suicide, but then I feel that if I did that then Ian would have won.”

As inquiries began, DC Wheeldon was contacted by a second person – who also made allegations against 54-year-old Davies.

Her abuse spanned several years, and stopped when she hit puberty, leaving her constantly trying to understand why it had happened to her.

Her victim impact statement was read out at court, in which she wrote that she felt “pain, anguish, betrayal, loss and guilt” as a result of the abuse.

She added: “Throughout my life I have tried to block it all out, hide away from the pain and confusion. I've learned to hide my emotions and to try and distance myself from how I am really feeling.

“But it is the quiet times, when I am alone or in the middle of the night, the fears and anxieties come into my head. I ask myself if I had spoken up could I have prevented more abuse happening?”

As the investigation progressed, DC Wheeldon contacted family members, former colleagues, social services teams and health professionals to build up a file of evidence against Davies, who was voluntary interviewed.

Despite denying the offences, a number of charges were secured against Davies. He appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court for a trial in January, and was found guilty of some of the offences.

As the jury was unable to reach a unanimous or majority verdict on some of the indictments, a second trial took place at Mold Crown Court in July. Out of 18 charges, Davies was found guilty of 11. He was later sentenced to 12 years in prison.

DC Wheeldon said: “The confidence in the survivors going through two trials was amazing. It’s not an easy process, but they maintained their dignity and determination, and saw the case through to the end.

“The male was personally affected by the outcome of the first trial, as Davies was only found guilty of the charges against the female, and he felt his lifestyle led to the jury not believing him."

In reality, his lifestyle is proof that what he said really happened.

“I have spoken with him since, and he is just so, so happy that he has finally been believed – that was more important to him than the sentence.

“For us as a force, it is a strong sentence, but for the survivors it was more important that their experiences were heard, believed and acted on.

“We have done all we can to support them over the past three years, with the help of partners at New Pathways, and we hope this outcome gives them the closure they have been waiting for.”

Winnipeg man charged in child sexual assaults dating back decades

By Shane Gibson, Global News

The Winnipeg police child abuse unit has arrested a man in connection with an investigation into what they’re calling historical, multi-generational sexual assaults spanning two decades.

The unit began investigating in August after police say two reports were made to a police agency outside of the province. The case was forwarded to detectives here because the offences were alleged to have happened in Winnipeg, where the suspect still lives.

Officers were told the assaults happened between January 1995 and December 2015 — mainly at a home in Winnipeg.

Investigators interviewed five victims initially, with another three victims identified over the course of the investigation, according to police.

Alan Oloya Samson, 47, was arrested Thursday.

Samson is charged with 25 offences, including sexual assault, sexual interference, making child pornography, possession of child pornography, and invitation to sexual touching. Samson remains in custody.

Police say investigators are continuing to interview potential witnesses, and anyone with information that may help in the investigation is asked to call detectives at 204-986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
