South London fake UK doctor who preyed on vulnerable boys
jailed for 30 years for catalogue of sexual abuse

A paedophile who posed as a doctor and told victims they could be models as he sexually abused young boys across four decades has been jailed for 30 years.
Nigel Clayton, 73, preyed on children and young adults who did not have a father figure in their lives, offering gifts and hiring them for odd jobs to get close to them.
He used the office of a car garage to carry out some of the attacks, claiming to own the business where he had even set up a bed inside.
Clayton claimed to be a doctor and pretended he was an expert on child development to justify some of the abuse, and sometimes took naked pictures while telling victims that they had a chance of a career in modelling.
But he also made threats, held debts over the boys, and resorted to physical force, the Met Police said.
Clayton was convicted at Croydon crown court in May of a catalogue of abuse between 1976 and 2017, and was jailed yesterday for 30 years.
“Clayton is a predatory and manipulative individual who specifically targeted victims he knew to be vulnerable, engineering situations which afforded him close contact with them in order to carry out his abuse,” said Detective Constable Candice Burley.
“One victim was under his control for more than 30 years, suffering regular sexual assaults. The long term effect of such prolonged abuse is difficult to comprehend.
“I extend my utmost respect and thanks to all of the victims for their courage in speaking up and ensuring Clayton was brought to justice for his heinous crimes.”
The officer said Clayton has been convicted of crimes against seven victims, but more boys may have fallen into his clutches who have not yet come forward.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward. You will be supported by specially trained officers who, as this conviction shows, are committed to the investigation of sexual offences and ensuring those responsible are held accountable,”she said.
Clayton, from Sutton, denied but was convicted by a jury of an indictment containing 31 counts, including allegations of sexual assault, rape and possessing indecent images.
Police said the abuse took place around south London, including one incident at a funeral.
He was finally stopped after one victim came forward in 2016 to report the abuse, and Clayton was arrested in February last year after seven victims had been identified.
Russian father who killed 'paedophile' friend after finding
footage of him 'raping his eight-year-old girl' is released
from custody amid calls not to charge him with murder

Factory worker Vyacheslav M, 34, was drinking with his friend Oleg Sviridov, 32, when he allegedly saw video of his daughter being abused on Sviridov's phone.

The killer has now been freed from jail and put under house arrest for two months pending an investigation.
Normally suspected killers would not be freed but there has been an outpouring of public support for the father, including from prominent journalists on Russia's tightly-controlled broadcast news.
Law enforcement say that Sviridov's phone contained more footage of him abusing other children in Vintai village in Russia's southwestern Samara region.
The body of alleged paedophile Oleg Sviridov, 32, was found near Vintai village in Russia's Samara region after the father of a child he abused stabbed him to death.
Vyacheslav M., 34, is the father of an eight year old girl who was allegedly raped by Sviridov,
a friend of Vyacheslav
It has since been reported that one of his alleged victims was the daughter of his former live-in partner.
'The woman had a daughter from her first marriage,' a friend told Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper. 'Now it has turned out he was abusing the child.'
Paedophiles often groom the single mothers of vulnerable children. Single moms must be very careful who they let into their lives.
The ex-lover did not know anything about it, said the woman friend who had known Sviridov for more than 15 years. 'She is a very good caring mother,' she said. 'I can imagine what she feels like now the truth has come out ...
'He was constantly seen with the girls, the daughter of his partner and Vyacheslav's older daughter, in the village. It never crossed anyone's mind what he was doing with children.'
Sviridov's body was discovered by police on Thursday, more than a week after Vyacheslav had seen the abusive video.
Vyacheslav had reported the rapes to local police who had launched a manhunt for Sviridov but the father managed to track down the alleged child abuser before the cops.
Vyacheslav later told police that Sviridov had 'stumbled on the knife during a quarrel' in a forest near the village, purporting that he had not intentionally murdered him with the blade.
Police sources said that the deceased man's phone contained other sickening videos which showed violent rapes of other village girls, aged six and 11. The videos indicated that the dead suspect had been abusing children for five years before Vyacheslav discovered the footage on his phone.
Villagers in Vintai and online commenters alike have demanded that Vyacheslav should not face a murder charge.
'He is not a murderer - he protected his daughter and our children too,' said one local. 'Everyone is on his side.'
Prominent TV journalist and former Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak told her followers: 'All parents are standing up for the paedophile's killer.'
Another commenter Anna Plekhanova said: 'If the crime is proven by video facts, then is the girl's father wrong?
'Any normal parent, mother or father, would have torn apart such a paedophile right on the spot. Protecting children is the direct responsibility of parents.'
Yulia Salinder added: 'It's good that he killed the bastard because our law would have put him in jail for only eight years - or even less - and he would be out again.'
Vladimir Novikov said: 'It is necessary to introduce the death penalty for paedophiles or we will see the lynching of non-humans.'
Prominent TV journalist and former Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak told her followers: 'All parents are standing up for the paedophile's killer.'
Svetlana Katargina commented: 'The father can be understood. Such wild creatures have no place in this world and paedophilia cannot be cured. Perpetrators get out of jail and start to rape children again.'
Sviridov's mother said that her son had often been a babysitter for Vyacheslav's children and the two men had been long-time friends.
'I don't know how it got to this,' she said, referring to the rape of Vyacheslav's daughter. 'He must have been drunk. Most likely he was drunk. They left their children with him all the time.
'When he baby-sat these girls he came back home as normal, in a good mood.'
Paedophile Abdul Hasib Elahi Targeted 2,000 Women and Children
in Global Blackmail Scheme

Paedophile Abdul Hasib Elahi has pled guilty to targetting nearly 2,000 women and children — some as young as 8-months-old — in a global online blackmail scheme.
Elahi, a resident of Birmingham, England passed himself off as a wealthy stockbroker on “sugar daddy” websites in order to target victims who were either in debt or too young to complain to authorities after he tricked them into sending him naked pictures.
The duplicitous pervert promised to pay thousands of pounds sterling in exchange for posed photographs, sending faked screenshots of money supposedly leaving his account.
Abdul Elahi would then use the pictures to blackmail his victims, forcing some to engage in self-mutilation for his pleasure, and forcing women to send him footage of them abusing young children and even making young girls abuse their siblings, according to Britain’s equivalent to the FBI, the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The paedophile “systematically categorised” footage and pictures of his victims on cloud storage sites and sold the files to other perverts as “box sets” on the encrypted messaging app Telegram for over £25,000. The NCA noted that this resulted in other predators blackmailing the same victims.
(See story immediately below.)
He would also provide a “master class” service to other paedophiles to copy his sadistic tactics.
The National Crime Agency investigation found that there were at least 196 victims in the United Kingdom and that he had contacted at least 600 people online in Britain. Abdul Hasib Elahi also tried to contact 1,367 women in the United States. The NCA said that his scheme extended to at least 20 other countries, including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
He was first arrested in December of 2018 following an allegation that he was blackmailing a 15-year-old girl in the United States. Officers uncovered his online abuse network after examining his phone and computers.
Elahi pleaded guilty to all 158 charges against him, including “blackmail, disclosing private sexual films and photographs to cause distress, making and distributing indecent images of children, encouraging the sexual assault of children, sexually assaulting a boy, causing or inciting children to engage in sexual activity, fraud and possessing more than 65,000 indecent images of children (IIOC) – including babies being raped.”
The National Crime Agency’s head of Child Sexual Abuse operations, Tony Cook said: “The investigation team have been horrified by Elahi’s sadistic depravity and stunned by the industrial scale of his worldwide offending.
“Elahi sought sexual gratification from having power and control of his victims and he’s displayed zero empathy for them. He often goaded them to the point of wanting to kill themselves. The effects on the victims in this case will continue throughout the rest of their lives.
“Our investigation has sparked a series of other inquiries into Elahi’s associates and there is ongoing work to bring others to justice.”
Sophie Mortimer, of the Revenge Porn Helpline, said that their organisation has been working with the NCA to remove the online content produced by Elahi for the past 18 months.
“We have managed to remove thousands of images but there is more outstanding and this work will continue for many months to come,” she said, adding: “This content is some of the most extreme that the Helpline has ever dealt with.”
“It is not simply nudity or sexually graphic, it is violent, degrading and deeply harmful.
“The impact of the sharing of this content is devastating and life-changing and should not be underestimated.”
The National Crime Agency also revealed that a second defendant, Kirsty Nicholls, 35, of Northolt, Middlesex, admitted to helping working with Elahi to sexually assault a child and making indecent images of the child.
Both will be sentenced on September 9 and 10 at Birmingham Crown Court.
Clifton man sent rape and acid attack threats to women
already extorted by Abdul Elahi

A man has been jailed after he "inflicted extreme terror" on six women by threatening them online.
Police said one of Williams's victims had already been targeted by another blackmailer awaiting sentence after admitting 158 offences.
Williams, 26, was jailed for five years and three months on Wednesday.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the offences took place over several months in 2019, with one victim receiving messages including the name of her home town, a picture of hydrochloric acid and her road name.
The NCA said Williams targeted one victim whose details were provided by Abdul Hasib Elahi, a "sadistic" paedophile and prolific blackmailer who admitted 158 offences against 79 victims.
Footage of the woman was acquired by Williams, who then used it against her again.
How do people manage to grow up without the faintest hint of a conscience?
'Words with real consequences'
In a victim impact statement, one woman said she had adapted her home since the threats - including installing bars on the doors - and now took a safety alarm everywhere she goes.
She said: "You made me afraid of opening the front door. When the letterbox goes or the door rings, I think of those messages. These are digital words with real consequences.
"If someone says my name I jump and I don't wear headphones outside. This is life after harassment. It is like being a solo target of a terrorist campaign."
Williams, of Hartness Road, Clifton, Nottingham, was convicted of blackmail, three counts of putting a person in fear of violence, and two counts of sending indecent messages in June.
Judge Rosalind Coe QC said the messages "included threats of extreme violence" and "explicit threats to acid attacks". She said: "They were particularly unpleasant and the messages you sent were graphic.
"Having heard and read the victim personal statements, it is apparent all six women have suffered very serious consequences."
Senior investigating officer Andy Peach, from the NCA, said: "Williams inflicted extreme terror on these victims - they have been exceptionally brave in coming forward to ensure he faced justice and went to jail.
"Williams is a coward and a twisted, callous, sexual deviant. Some of his crimes were made possible because of Abdul Elahi, whose sadistic depravity and scale of offending horrified the investigative team."
Primary school headmaster, is branded a 'highly dangerous,
predatory, manipulative paedophile' as he is caged for 12 years

A primary school headmaster who sexually abused a 15-year-old boy and filmed youngsters naked in a changing room has been branded a 'highly dangerous predatory paedophile'.
Duggie Speight, 44, was jailed for 12 years after pleading guilty to 15 charges including sexual activity with a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, making indecent images of a child and voyeurism.
Bradford Crown Court heard that Speight, head of a school in Yorkshire, began grooming the 15-year-old by inviting him over to his flat during lockdown.
Passing sentence, Judge Richard Mansell QC said he had used his position of trust to 'cynically manipulate' the boy and his family.
'You were well respected and liked by your colleagues, the pupils and their parents but your public persona hid a very dark secret, in that you are a highly dangerous, predatory, manipulative paedophile with a sexual interest in young boys,' he said.
Judge Mansell added that Speight's offending was at the highest category of harm and that his victim would have to 'live with the mental scars of what you did to him for the rest of his life'.
Prosecutor Tom Storey said Speight became friends with the boy's family and offered tutoring. He also gave the boy alcohol and took him out to buy him presents including clothes and a laptop.
The victim was changed by the abuse, crying and becoming angry and sad, and eventually confiding in a friend and alerting the police, the court heard.
When Speight was arrested he admitted that his behaviour had been inappropriate but denied that anything sexual had taken place.
Police searched his house and found a computer tablet and phones containing indecent videos of the boy taken without his knowledge, hidden behind a picture and an air vent.
Speight then admitted to investigating officers that he had abused the boy.
In an impact statement, the boy's mother said Speight had 'destroyed my happy family life', the BBC reported.
'He used my friendship and trust and twisted it, 'she said. 'He stole my son's innocence and we can never get it back.'
Judge Mansell made an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and Speight was ordered to sign on the sex offender register for life.
