Accused child sex abuse suspect arrested after fleeing Texas twice, using multiple aliases

James Michael Nona was captured in Louisiana after authorities say he removed his GPS monitor and fled Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas A lengthy search for a Montgomery County man accused of sexually abusing a child ended July 27 when authorities found him in Louisiana, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced on Saturday.

James Michael Nona was initially investigated after the sheriff’s office received a report in July 2023 involving alleged sexual abuse of a child under 14. Investigators said the child reported that Nona had abused them over a period of years.

As detectives with the agency’s Special Victims Unit worked the case, they learned Nona had left Texas after becoming aware of the investigation. Authorities later located him in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, where they say he was living under the name “Jordan Hill.”

Nona was arrested in Oklahoma, returned to Montgomery County and booked on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a young child or disabled individual. Investigators also received information suggesting there could be additional victims connected to his time in Oklahoma. Those allegations remain under investigation by law enforcement agencies there.

Nona was released on bond in October 2024. More than a year later, authorities say he removed his court-ordered GPS monitor and disappeared while the Montgomery County case was still pending.

The investigation into his whereabouts led detectives to Louisiana, where they say Nona had been using the names “Trevor Craw” and “Dusty Crawford.” His arrest followed an extended effort involving the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Galveston Police Department.

Nona was transported to the Montgomery County Jail following his arrest.

Mother-daughter missing persons case

Nona was also reportedly seen with a missing Louisiana mother and her 10-year-old daughter in the Butte La Rose area before his arrest, according to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier this month, Louisiana authorities said Danielle Escue Lea, 39, and her daughter, Alayna, 10, were reported missing from Baton Rouge and are believed to be in St. Martin Parish. Their disappearance is being investigated by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police and Baton Rouge police. Authorities have not said what role, if any, Nona may have played in the case.

Anyone with information about Danielle or Alayna Lea is asked to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-394-3071 or St. Martin Crime Stoppers at 337-441-3030. Tips can also be submitted through the P3 Tips app.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Nona—or who has information that could assist investigators—to contact the agency at 936-760-5800 and reference case No. 23A209127.

JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WAVE) - A 70-year-old registered sex offender has been arrested on felony charges following an investigation into the sexual abuse of a child, according to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office.

Ronald Brown was taken into custody on Aug. 12 after the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges.

Brown is charged with one count of rape and one count of child molesting, both Class B felonies. He is currently being held without bond in the Jennings County Jail.

The investigation began on June 18, when authorities received a report alleging that Brown had sexually abused the victim over a period of several years, beginning when the victim was under the age of 14.

Investigators interviewed Brown on June 23, but no arrest was made at that time as detectives continued their investigation and conducted additional interviews to establish probable cause.

Brown was already on community corrections supervision and has a prior felony conviction for a sex offense involving a child.

Court records show he is now charged with rape and child molesting. His bond has been set at $50,000 cash.

His trial is scheduled for Nov. 30.

Investigation and disclosures

The case began on July 18, 2026, when deputies received a report involving alleged sex crimes against a child.

Investigators referred the child to the Limestone Child Advocacy Center for an interview. During that interview, the child disclosed years of sexual abuse, which prompted a deeper investigation by sheriff’s department investigators.

Based on the evidence gathered, investigators established probable cause and obtained warrants for Stiles’ arrest.

Traffic stop and arrest

Sheriff’s investigators and the Limestone County SWAT Team prepared to execute the warrants on August 13, 2026.

Deputies spotted Stiles traveling in a vehicle near Emma Jo Lane in Athens. Investigators conducted a traffic stop and took him into custody without any issues.

Stiles is charged with first-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

He is currently being held in the Limestone County Jail. A judge will set his bond at a later date during an Aniah’s Law hearing.

Actor charged with 24 felony counts in alleged child sexual abuse case

Detectives believe Shane Ryan Gledhill's alleged conduct spans 25 years with survivors in Los Angeles area

A California actor and producer is facing 24 felony charges after investigators said he used online casting calls to contact minors as part of an alleged pattern of child sexual abuse spanning decades.

Shane Ryan Gledhill, 46, of Lompoc, was arrested Aug. 3 after Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives spent nearly five years investigating accusations of exploitation.

Gledhill, whose work involved projects connected to actors including Shelley Duvall, Tom Arnold, Richard Dreyfuss and Ed Harris, was initially booked on 15 felony charges. That total has now climbed to 24.

The investigation began in November 2021, when a 17-year-old survivor approached Santa Barbara County Sheriff's investigators about what the alleged victim described as suspicious and inappropriate conduct involving Gledhill when she was 15, according to authorities.

That initial report led to an investigation that eventually identified nine survivors, the sheriff's office said. All were minors at the time of the alleged offenses.

In February 2022, investigators executed a search warrant at his home in Lompoc. Investigators seized thousands of digital files, which underwent an extensive forensic examination.

The sheriff's office said the investigation uncovered a pattern in which Gledhill allegedly used online casting calls and film-making projects to contact aspiring young actors.

That detail prompted authorities to publicly release his booking photograph.

"The Sheriff’s Office is releasing Gledhill’s booking photograph because detectives believe he often used the professional names ‘Shane Ryan’ and ‘Shane Ryan-Reid’ when contacting aspiring actors and filmmakers.

"Individuals who interacted with him under those names may not recognize his legal name. Detectives hope the photograph will assist in identifying additional survivors or witnesses."

The charges against Gledhill include alleged offenses such as child molestation, rape, forcible sexual assault, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, possession of child sexual abuse material and providing harmful matter to a minor.

Gledhill was taken into custody at his Lompoc home on an arrest warrant and booked into the Northern Branch Jail. His bail was set at $2 million.

"Based on evidence developed during the investigation, detectives believe there may be additional survivors who have not yet been identified or come forward," the press release shared.

Investigators believe the alleged conduct could span roughly 25 years, with potential survivors or witnesses located not only along California's Central Coast but also in the Los Angeles area and on the East Coast.
