Parents, please, don't ever put your child into a daycare where men are present. It is not worth the risk. Men have no business caring for other people's children. There is something wrong with those who do, IMHO.
New victim identified: Fmr. Almere alderman accused of sexually abusing 14 children
Jan B. (66) is suspected of sexually abusing a total of 14 children, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) revealed in a hearing against the former Almere alderman and childcare worker on Wednesday. One new victim has been identified since the last hearing, NU.nl reports.
B. worked as a substitute at various daycare centers. He also hired himself out as a caregiver and babysitter for vulnerable children. The man was already suspected of sexually abusing four children, including the attempted rape of a 2-year-old girl at a daycare center in Amsterdam.
At the previous hearing, the OM said that the charges against B. would be expanded. The OM said that 13 victims had been identified, but the police investigation was still ongoing. On Wednesday, the OM revealed that they’ve found a total of 14 victims and the police investigation has been concluded.
The OM only gave a brief explanation of the new charges against B. Several children have said that B. “tickled” them on their genitals. The man is also suspected of possessing images of child sexual abuse and animal abuse.
The 66-year-old man attended the hearing in the Amsterdam court, but said he could barely follow the proceedings. His hearing aid was broken, and the prison refused to give him a new one, he said. After hearing the allegations, he said: “I have strong opinions, but I’m not saying anything about it right now.”
The court warned the parents present in the courtroom that it may take some time yet before B. stands trial. B.’s mental state needs to be examined by experts at the Pieter Baan Center. That examination will not happen until October. The next hearing is scheduled for October 29. 
Woman convicted of historical sexual offences against underage boy in Jersey
A 53-year-old woman has been found guilty of historical sexual offences against an underage boy.
Donna Marie Bentley was unanimously convicted at Jersey's Royal Court on two counts of procuring an act of gross indecency and one count of indecent assault.
She was cleared of a further three charges.
The offences happened during the 1990s when the victim was too young to legally consent to sexual activity.
During the four-day trial, the victim told the court that Bentley had come into his bedroom uninvited while he was sleeping and had sex with him when he was aged 14.
The States of Jersey Police said Bentley, who was known to her victim, subjected him to sexual abuse.
She showed little emotion as the jury gave their verdict and she has been remanded in custody.
Deputy Bailiff Mark Temple, presiding, said her application for bail was denied due to the seriousness of the offences.
It took the jury of eight women and four men seven and a half hours to deliberate before they delivered their verdicts.
Bentley was a registered care manager in Jersey, who resigned after she was charged with the offences that were not related to her employment.
Detective Constable Elianne Jones, who led the police investigation, said: "The long-lasting trauma sustained from this abuse has greatly impacted the victim's life and it has taken immense courage to speak out about what he experienced.
"The States of Jersey Police remain committed to investigating allegations of sexual offending, no matter how much time has passed since the offences occurred.
"We would encourage anyone who has experienced sexual abuse, whether recently or many years ago, to come forward."
The incident was reported to the force in 2024 and, following an investigation, Bentley was charged in October 2025.
A sentencing date will be set on Friday 14 August 2026.
