3 Resignations Fall Out of the #MeToo Movement, Already

While this #MeToo movement reveals a massive problem of perversion in Hollywood, and, undoubtedly everywhere else, it is small in comparison to the problem of child sex abuse.
I'm not complaining; I hope the movement continues until the swamp is drained, but I also hope that more McKayla Maroneys come forward to shine the light where it is needed most.
Children have no voice - adults who have been abused as children have to find the courage to speak out for the little ones who cannot.

Roy Price Resigns as Amazon Studios Head Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations

by BEN KEW

The head of Amazon Studios, Roy Price, has resigned from his role amid allegations of sexual harassment from one of the streaming platform’s top producers.

Last week Price was placed on indefinite leave of absence after Isa Hackett, a producer for the Amazon original series Man in the High Castle, accused him of sexually harassing her in a taxi.

Hackett rejected his advances and is a lesbian.

In a message to employees on Friday, Amazon’s Vice President of business development Jeff Blackburn said that “Amazon does not tolerate harassment or abuse of our employees or our business partners.”

“If a concern is brought to our attention, we investigate it quickly and thoroughly,” it continued.

The news also comes after a $160 million Amazon and Weinstein Co.-produced drama starring Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore was scrapped following Harvey Weinstein’s sexual harassment scandal.

The actress, Rose McGowan, last week accused Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos of “funding rapists, alleged pedos and sexual harassers” in a furious stream of tweets, claiming that she told Roy Price that she had been raped by Weinstein multiple times.

And still, he went ahead with the De Niro project!!!

After the allegations against Weinstein emerged, evidence has been building of an underlying problem of sexual harassment and abuse within the movie industry. At least five women have accused Weinstein of rape, and dozens more of sexual harassment, while figures such as Oliver Stone and Ben Affleck have also been accused of sexual misconduct.

Meanwhile, over 30 women have claimed to be victims of sexual harassment within the industry, including actresses Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rose McGowan.

Just For Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon resigns
over abuse allegations

“I am resigning out of respect for the employees and the families that work for these organizations as well as all our partners,” Rozon wrote in what he titled an official declaration.

By ALLAN WOODS Quebec Bureau

MONTREALGilbert Rozon, the impresario behind Montreal’s world-famous Just for Laughs Festival, has quit the entertainment company over unspecified allegations of abuse.

He made the announcement on his Facebook page Wednesday evening, adding that he was also resigning as commissioner of the organizing committee of Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations and vice president of the Montreal Chamber of Commerce.

“I am resigning out of respect for the employees and the families that work for these organizations as well as all our partners. I certainly don’t want to overshadow their activities,” Rozon wrote in what he titled an official declaration.

“Shaken by the allegations against me, I want to dedicate all my time to review the matter. To all those who I may have offended in my life, I’m sincerely sorry.”

Le Devoir reported interviewing nine women about their alleged experiences of harassment, abuse and sexual assault at Rozon’s hands over the last three decades.

One woman reported that in June 2016 she awoke following an evening of drinking to find Rozon having sex with her against her will, something that Rozon himself later disputed in an email exchange.

“I froze, I pushed him away, slammed the door and went into another room,” said Geneviève Allard. Later, Rozon allegedly remarked that both of them had cheated on their partners.

Allard filed a formal complaint with the police last December, the newspaper reported.

Campaign Staffer for Phil Janowicz Resigns Over
Sexual Harassment Charges

Santa Ana, CA - A campaign staffer for Phil Janowicz, a Democratic congressional candidate running against Republican congressman Rep. Ed Royce, has resigned over allegations he sexually harassed women while an employee of the Democratic Party of Orange County.

Phil Janowicz

On Wednesday the OC Weekly reported allegations of sexual harassment and abuse by several women against an official at the Democratic Party of Orange County and the Orange County Labor Federation.

The women made the allegations in social media posts as part of #metoo, a hashtag aimed at raising awareness of sexual misconduct.

The woman, a former Democratic Party employee, wrote on Facebook “my fault was remaining silent as I exited the Democratic Party of Orange County after every single female intern at the time had confided in me of an instance when a senior member of the executive board crossed the line with them – even with interns who were minors.

“No matter how friendly this person was, it is inappropriate for someone in such a position to question an underage intern about her sex life, make comments to other young interns about how good they look, send sexually explicit pictures, or caress someone’s thighs,” the same woman wrote in a separate post.

Janowicz released a statement on his campaign’s Facebook’s page that does not refer to the allegations specifically or name the staffer. The campaign will not release the name of the staffer who has resigned.
