Approaching Sodom > Tulsi Gabbard - Trans in Sports; Hungary Turns From #PCMadness; Detransitioning

Tulsi Gabbard branded ‘transphobe’ after introducing bill
to limit women’s sport to biological females

Democrat outsider Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has found herself at the center of another attack this week after introducing a bill that would limit participation in women’s sports to biological women.

The Protect Women’s Sports Act, which Gabbard introduced with Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) on Thursday, seeks to level the playing field in women’s sports by recognizing that different sexes are born with different physical abilities.

Gabbard’s bill alleges that the anti-discrimination education amendment from 1972, Title IX, has become misinterpreted over the years, allowing those who were born male to unfairly compete against biological females.

She said the law had led to “life-changing opportunities for girls and women that never existed before” and must be protected.

Gabbard said Title IX was being “weakened” by some states who were “misinterpreting” it and “creating uncertainty, undue hardship and lost opportunities for female athletes.”

Our legislation protects Title IX’s original intent which was based on the general biological distinction between men and women athletes based on sex.

Gabbard was soon accused of transphobia by journalists and liberal commentators, who branded the Hawaiian Democrat a “bigot,”“scum,”“horrible,” and a “TERF” – or Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist, a term which was also used against Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling after she expressed concern about children who were going through gender transitions.

Others, including transgender military veteran-turned-activist Charlotte Clymer, accused the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman of being a Republican, and alleged she was angling for a commentary position at Fox News.

“Tulsi Gabbard: assigned Republican at birth,” commented Sarah McBride, who became the first transgender state senator after being elected in Delaware in November.

The attacks resulted in Gabbard – who is often considered to be a Democratic Party outsider due to her opposition to war, support for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and divergence from the party line on other issues — becoming one of Twitter’s top trending topics on Friday.

We like Tulsi because she is not Deep State, and is not swept-up in the gender madness craze. She speaks truth, dislikes war (which is why Democrats despise her), and is probably the most intelligent politician in Washington.

Some journalists, however, defended Gabbard, including Australian columnist Rita Panahi, who wrote, “Bravo Tulsi Gabbard. DNC doesn’t deserve you.”

‘Dark day for LGBTQ community’: Hungary passes law making adoptions by same sex couples impossible

Hungary’s parliament has passed a law that effectively bans same-sex couples from adopting children, provoking a major outcry from human rights groups and LGBTQ activists.

The legislation, pushed forward by the government of conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whose Fidesz party enjoys a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly, makes only married couples eligible to adopt children.

With same sex-marriages banned in the country, it basically disqualifies gay and lesbian unions from applying for adoption. “The main rule is that only married couples can adopt a child, that is, a man and a woman who are married,” the law reads.

A loophole in which one member of an LGBTQ couple adopted a child as a single person has also been closed. Unmarried people now require special permission from the family affairs minister to adopt, and Katalin Novak, who occupies the post, is known as a strong supporter of traditional values.

During Tuesday’s session of the National Assembly, 134 out of 199 MPs voted in favor of the law, 45 rejected it, with five deputies abstaining. The Democratic Coalition, which has nine seats, skipped the vote as it labeled the legislation illegal.

The parliament also approved amendments to the constitutions, which among other things define a family as the union of a father, who is male, and a mother, who is female.

Amnesty International blasted the law as “discriminatory, homophobic and transphobic,” with the group’s director, David Vig, saying it represents yet another attack on the LGBT community in the country.

“This is a dark day for Hungary’s LGBTQ community and a dark day for human rights,” Vig said, accusing the government of using the coronavirus pandemic to rush through the law, which was just proposed in November.

International gay rights group ILGA said that due to the legislation, “LGBTI children will be forced to grow up in an environment which restricts them from being able to express their identities.”

Hungary has firmly resisted the EU’s recent push to expand the rights of LGBTQ people, despite risking violating EU law.

Along with Poland, the Hungarian government has been stalling the approval of the EU budget over a clause which links the allocation of funds to how member states uphold the rule of law. A compromise on the 1.8 trillion package was not reached until last week.

The disagreements between Budapest and Brussels go far beyond the rights of same sex couples, and include immigration, media freedom, and rules for non-governmental organizations.

It seems Hungary and Poland are the only EU countries that have not turned their backs on God.

'I feel angry': Why some people regret and reverse
their transgender decisions

'I’m angry that every single doctor and therapist we saw told us
this was the one and only option'

transition by the time they’re adults. PHOTO BY GETTY IMAGES

By age 14, Eva became convinced she was a transgender boy. By 16, she had come out to her teachers and classmates.

Her emotionally manipulative family was less accepting of her decision. But a therapist in Toronto and trans activists she knew had a dramatic proposal.

She could move into the Covenant House youth shelter, and then freely go on hormones to push ahead with medical transition.

“They thought it was so important for me to be on testosterone that it was OK if I left home and probably didn’t graduate high school,” recalled Eva, who asked that her last name not be published to preserve her privacy around sensitive issues. “Even at that point in life, when I was 16 and totally believed this was the only thing that was going to save me, I was more rational about it.”

She never did medically transition, a process that involves taking cross-sex hormones — testosterone for girls who transition to a male gender identity — and then undergo various surgical modifications.

Like breast, ovaries, uterus removals...

And six years later, on her own at university in Manitoba, Eva decided she’d been “misled,” and was not transgender after all. She was attracted to women, and wanted to be attracted to them as a woman herself.

Eva, now 24, is part of a controversial cohort known as detransitioners and desisters, transgender people who come to rethink their decision, often having already undergone drug and surgical treatments.

In October she founded an organization – Detrans Canadashe hopes will support individuals she said can feel ostracized by the LGBTQ community.

She believes transition is essential for some gender dysphoric youth, but questions a treatment approach she said pushes young people too forcefully in that direction.

“I feel a little bit angry, more than a little bit, because other people who’ve been in this position went much further than me,” said Eva. “I have lesbian friends who have no uterus, no ovaries, no breasts and are 21-years old. I’m angry that every single doctor and therapist we saw told us this was the one and only option.”

She is convinced that more and more people are detransitioning or desisting, the latter term covering those who did not medically transition, though their numbers are the subject of debate.

Detrans Canada has yet to launch a concerted recruitment drive and has fewer than a dozen Canadian members. But Eva noted that a Reddit forum for detransitioners – r/detrans – grew from 3,000 to over 16,000 members in just a few months this year.

And several studies have estimated that 60 to 90 per cent of children who identify as transgender no longer want to transition by the time they’re adults, often becoming gay or lesbian.

Other research, however, has estimated that actual detransitioners represent as little as one per cent of the trans population.

Greta Bauer, the CIHR chair in gender and sex science at Western University, said she’s aware of no research indicating destransitioners’ ranks are expanding. She said many don’t regret their choice, they have simply stopped taking hormones for various other reasons.

It's only just beginning in Canada. Look at Great Britain which is years ahead of Canada in this field.

“What concerns me is that some people seem to think that the existence of any regret justifies denying or delaying care for everyone who needs a treatment,” said Bauer. “This is not the standard by which we evaluate any other medical treatment.”

But perhaps the fact that 51% of girls/young women who transitioned to boys/men, have attempted suicide, might be a reasonable standard to question the insane treatment of children.

Eva said she suffered from some physical abuse, an eating disorder and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder as a child and by 14 was on anti-depressants. She also knew she was not heterosexual, but “didn’t know what was going on.”

There is some indication that gender dysphoria is associated with other mental illnesses. An unusual number of transgenders are from the autistic spectrum

Then she saw videos posted online by trans men, people who had transformed from “dumpy women into buffed men,” and the answer seemed at hand.

Years later she met friends in Manitoba who were dealing with their identity issues in other ways, and her own dysphoria eventually faded away.

But such alternative perspectives seem of little interest to the health-care system, Eva said, or a clientele convinced by the transition-focused approach.

“You have teenage girls who have issues with their bodies, issues socially with growing up, they have issues about their sexuality,” she said. “It’s no surprise that they have been given this fix, and that they want the fix.”

But it's not a fix, it's a disaster!
