The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a 35-year-old man based out of Srinagar for allegedly operating a child sex abuse racket along with his US-based wife.

Identified as Niyaz Ahmed Mir, the accused was running a sex racket to target minors living in the United States, the agency said. The accused has been booked under section 67 B of IT Act and Sec. 14 of Pocso Act, 2012. Mir was produced before a special court in Srinagar on Tuesday, which remanded him to CBI custody.

Mir’s wife, another accused in the case and identified as Tamara Stanley(34), hails from Grays Harbor County in southwest Washington. She was arrested by the US authorities on June 25 this year and charged with “production of child pornography”, a press statement from the US Justice Department revealed.

According to the CBI, the duo targeted minors in the United States and “uploaded pornographic content on dark net for financial gains” and were also “involved in direct communication with several minors in the USA”.

The agency also carried out a raid at Mir’s residence on Tuesday and recovered “damning digital evidence” including 3 laptops, 5 mobile phones, hand-written notes, etc.

Accused and his US-based wife in “master-slave relationship”: CBI

The accused, Mir, and his wife, Stanley, were in a “master-slave relationship”, CBI spokesperson RK Gaur said. He further added that Stanley was allegedly working on Mir’s directions, exploiting minor children, recording these abuses and electronically transmitting the same to her husband. It is also been alleged that the victims refused to follow his orders, Mir shared these videos with their family members.

The matter came to light when the US authorities accessed Stanley’s emails and discovered the rampant child sex abuse racket.

The CBI said it routinely coordinates with international law enforcement agencies to detect and investigate sexual abuse of minors, especially over the cyber space and also reaffirms its commitment towards promoting cooperation with US Law Enforcement Agencies in combating child sexual abuse in cyber space.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Attorney-General, Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, has issued orders banning the publication of any news or information related to the recent "rape incident" video, prohibiting its circulation on all UAE media platforms in the interest of the public and in order to protect the privacy of the victim.

Dr. Al Shamsi said that the Public Prosecution had completed its investigations to identify the truth in the crime, which grabbed public attention after a video of the offence was posted on social media platforms.

"The Public Prosecution ordered the pretrial detention of those accused of the offence, pending investigation, and legal measures have been taken against them in light of the evidence in the case and all its circumstances," he noted.

'Those accused' suggest that it was a gang-rape. I sincerely hope al-Shamsi is protecting the victim and not the perpetrators.

Dr. Al Shamsi praised the cooperation from the Public Prosecution of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, under the directives of the Public Prosecutor of the Emirate, Counsellor Hassan Saeed Muhaimid, and thanked the leadership, officers and police of Ras Al Khaimah for their efforts.

He added that the cooperation of the Public Prosecution and Police in Ras Al Khaimah with their equivalents in Abu Dhabi in enforcing legal procedures had led to the speedy arrest of the accused.

Patna: A man in Bihar hired contract killers to eliminate his son since he was fed up with his notorious activities which usually caused tension in the family, police said on Sunday. Police have arrested the accused along with five contract killers and forwarded all of them to jail.

Police said Anwarul Haque, 65, a resident of Bagahi-Sheikhpura village in Gopalganj district, paid Rs500,000 ($6,800USD) to his son’s murderers as the latter had turned his life into a veritable hell. The accused took up the step after his 45-year-old son Shafique Alam refused to mend his ways despite repeated warnings and advice.

According to the revelation made by the police, three persons brought Shafique to Bettiah town in neighbouring West Champaran district on a bike on some pretext and shot him dead at a lonely place. An empty cartridge was recovered from the site during the investigation.

Police said the victim who ran a general store in Gopalganj town was involved in illegal cattle trading. But what irked his father was the way he had taken money from many villagers to sell his ancestral properties which had caused tension in the family.

“Shafique had taken money from several villagers in the name of selling his ancestral property which his father strongly opposed. The man was also a habitual alcoholic and would assault anyone at home and hence his father decided to get rid of him,” a police official in charge of investigation Nirbhai Kumar Rai told the media on Sunday.

Contract killers
The increasing incidents of hiring contract killers to kill own family members have baffled the police in the state. Last year, a youth from Patna had hired a contract killer to kill his retired father only because he would often admonish him for not giving proper attention to his study.

The youth had given Rs15,000 ($200USD) as advance to the contract killer and had himself carried the shooter on his bike to the place where his father was to be killed while he had gone for a morning walk in the Kumhrar locality of Patna, capital city of Bihar. The victim Dr Chandrashekhar Prasad had retired as a civil surgeon barely some weeks before he was killed.

In another incident reported from Patna district in 2018, a woman hired contract killers to eliminate her own son, apparently fed up with his scandalous activities. The woman had allegedly paid Rs40,000 to the contract killer to eliminate her son.

According to the woman, the entire village was irritated over her son’s illegal activities as he would sexually harass women of the locality and eve-tease girls while stealing and robbing had become his routine habit. The woman told the police that his son had made her life a veritable hell and hence she decided to kill him.

Yet another such incident was reported the same year from Munger district where a son hired two contract killers for Rs200,000 ($2,700USD) to shoot dead his soon-to-be-retired father employed with Indian railway to get a job on compassionate grounds. As luck would have it, the victim survived later.

Dubai: An online post by the Yemeni Feminist Voice has gone viral after it posted photos of a Yemeni girl held by her father who sold her for about $400.

The child holds her father's hand as though he would keep her safe.

She's what, 4 years old? What kind of slave does a child that small make? She's no good for cooking or laundry or cleaning. The only thing she is good for is to satisfy paedophile rapists.

The Yemeni Feminist Voice
also posted a copy of an official document signed by several people, including representatives of the Yemeni government.

The document, which does not state the purpose or the reason for “the deal”, is an official agreement certifying the selling of young girl “Lemon” for about $350.

According to the document issued in August 2019 by the documentation department at the Yemeni Ministry of Justice, the father Yasser Abdul Naser Saeed Al Salahi has agreed to sell his free daughter Lemon to Mohammad Hassan Ali Al Fatki for 200k Yemeni Riyals, with only half the price paid in advance, with the total amount equals to $400.

Ugly reality
Human rights activists said the documented attempt to sell the girl is signed by government officials. “Human trafficking still exists in Yemen with no changes to this ugly reality. Lemon is being sold by her criminal father joined by everyone who has signed this document.”

Social media users widely shared the photos condemning what is regarded as modern-day slavery that is still carried out by some people in Yemen, and especially as this “deal” seems to involve government officials in the war-torn country.

Shocked by the image and the document, social media users called on authorities and international organizations to “rescue” Lemon from what they described as a human trafficking ring, wondering about the young girl’s fate since that document was signed 16 months ago.

Human sacrifice: Man arrested in Bihar for killing his nephew
in bid to cure ill daughter

Toofani Yadav lured the 7-year-old boy to the woods with biscuits before killing him

Patna: Police in Bihar have arrested a man after he was accused of sacrificing his seven-year-old nephew to cure his ailing three-month-old daughter on a black magician’s advice. The horrible incident took place in Jamui district over the weekend.

Police said the little kid was playing outside the village when the main accused Toofani Yadav, 35, lured the boy by offering him a packet of biscuits, took him to a lonely place near the jungle and chopped him to death. Before committing the crime, the accused had performed tantric acts inside a hut and also consumed intoxicants to commit the crime, according to the police.

Tantra (/ˈtʌntrə, ˈtæn-/; Sanskrit: तन्त्र, literally "loom, weave, warp") denotes the esoteric traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism that developed in India from the middle of the 1st millennium AD onwards. The term tantra, in the Indian traditions, also means any systematic broadly applicable "text, theory, system, method, instrument, technique or practice". A key feature of these traditions is the use of mantras... Wikipedia

“The accused performed the human sacrifice to cure his ailing daughter on the advice of a local black magician. The sword used in the crime has also been recovered,” Jamui’s district superintendent of police Pramod Kumar Mandal told the media on Monday. He added the victim boy was the very own nephew of the accused.

Five arrested
The police have arrested five persons in connection with the murder so far. They include the main accused, his sexagenarian mother, 31-year-old wife, his younger brother and the black magician Janardan Giri, 50. “While the two women instigated the accused to slaughter the kid, the black magician had performed the tantrik act,” the police said.

“The accused had a son who died within two months of his birth last year while his daughter too had been sick right since her birth, so he contacted the tantric (black magician) on wife’s instigation. He was reportedly advised by the tantric that it was his nephew who was causing all the problems and must be sacrificed to bring good luck in the family,” local police official in charge of the investigation Pankaj Kumar Paswan told the media on Monday.

Police said they had gathered enough evidence in the case and would file the charge-sheet very soon so that the case could be speedily tried.
