Detectives have launched an investigation into alleged historic sexual abuse at a scout group - nearly 20 years late.
A 33-year-old man has told police he was abused while a member of 1st Bredbury and Woodley Scout Group in Stockport, in the mid-1990s.
Officers are now looking for other men who attended the same group at the time.
The investigation comes after an indecent image of a child was put on social media in August, 2013.
Detectives then raided a house in Dukinfield, Tameside, and recovered electrical equipment which was forensically tested.
That led the officers to a 33-year-old man, who reported sexual abuse in 1996 while he was a Scout at 1st Bredbury and Woodley Scout group.
A man has since been arrested on suspicion of making/possession of indecent images and indecent assault and remains on police bail.
Det Con Lucy Shaw, from Greater Manchester Police’s Public Protection Investigation Unit, said: “While of no comfort to the victim in this case, I want to reassure local residents and parents of boys currently at the 1st Bredbury and Woodley Scout group that we are investigating an historic allegation against a person no longer associated with the Scout movement.
"As part of our investigation we have analysed various electrical items and arrested a man on a number of child sex offences but importantly we need trace individuals that attended the Scout group in the mid to late 90s.
“There may or may not be people who can assist our investigation but we are keeping an entirely open mind to the possibility there could be other victims: men who will now be in their 30s and who may find it difficult to come forward and talk to us after such a long period of time.
“What I would say to them, if indeed there are other victims or people with information, is that we have specially trained officers on hand to help and support you and I would encourage you to pick up the phone and talk to us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 9314, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
