ELKO, Nevada – An Elko man arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse in October faces additional charges related to accusations that he struck a teen until she agreed to take naked photographs of herself.
Harry I. Butler, 43, will stand trial in district court to face a dozen felony charges. He was bound over in late December.
According to a police detective’s unsworn declaration, Butler tried to fondle the breast of an underage female relative. When she resisted, he locked her in the bathroom and hit her head and neck. She covered herself but he continued to slap her, according to police.
Butler allegedly ordered the child to take naked photographs of herself. She took a clothed picture, which angered Butler, according to the police report. He began hitting her again, as well as the girl’s younger brother, until she complied.
About a year before the reported incident, Butler allegedly touched the child’s genitals.
Police believe Butler touched the teen’s genitals again about a week before the alleged beatings.
He faces charges of two counts child abuse, first-degree kidnapping, two counts using a minor as the subject of a sexual portrayal, two counts possession of a visual presentation depicting sexual portrayal of a person younger than 16, coercion, sexual assault on a child younger than 16, battery with intent to commit sexual assault on a child younger than 16, false imprisonment and lewdness with a child younger than 16.
If convicted, he could face multiple life sentences. I wonder if he thinks it was worth it now?
Butler has not been arraigned yet.
