Vytas Bronius Kapociunas leaving the ACT Magistrates Court after facing child sex abuse charges. |
Vytas Bronius Kapociunas, 71, was committed to stand trial in the ACT Supreme Court on three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred in Madrid during the period that Kapociunas was living there with his wife Jane Hardy, who was Australia's Ambassador to Spain.
Ms Hardy returned to Australia after the charges were laid and the Department of Foreign Affairs emphasized that no allegations of inappropriate or illegal behaviour have been made against her.
The case will return to court for a directions hearing next month.
