MILLERSVILLE, Maryland, —Anne Arundel County police said a man wanted in connection with child sex abuse charges following an investigation has been arrested.
This is the 2nd child sex abuse case for Anne Arundel Police this year. In February, they charged a martial arts instructor with sexually abusing a 14 year old girl.
Authorities said an investigation involving the sexual abuse of a child began on March 21.
Police said investigators learned that a toddler left in the care and custody of Darrius Eric Carr, 20, was sexually abused over the course of several days. Based on evidence recovered during the investigation, detectives submitted an application for a statement of charges to the District Court Commissioner.
The warrant charged Carr with sex abuse of a minor, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, and second-degree assault, production and possession of child pornography. The identity and age of the victim is not being released.
Police said Carr was taken into custody Tuesday without incident by the Harford County Sheriff's Department. No information is available as to why he was in Harford County.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with additional information related to this investigation or if there are any additional victims, they are urged to contact Detective Kristine Mays at 410-222-3478.
